    14:54 I love it: a accident projectile rack... Nice and efficient too with an assortment of glass jars to propel unsuspected (quit unhappy) campers into an ER near you...

    I like how it doesn't look like a camper. A friend of mine says that's the way to go. opens up more parking looking more commercial than personal. Looking to do a build myself. i'll be watching :)

    I'm really interested to see more of your T1N sprinter van content as I myself and purchasing a 2006 dodge sprinter for my transportation business. Who knows, maybe we can share things we learn about the van and maintenance along the way. It looks great can't wait to see the next video!

    Nice build!! Did you have to remove the fedex metal sliding door before your build? I’m doing this now and it seem that the door track is welded to the floor. If you removed yours did you cut it or did you use a specific tool to remove? Our does not have any screws attached.

    I have a Sprinter Im coverting. Wouldn't it make sense to run all your electrical and plumbing before you install all your insulation? Am I missing something?

    You will soon realize that this single maxair fan won't be sufficient for ventilation when sleeping in the back. I have a similar Sprinter campervan, which has the same bed location and a starlight located where your fan is. So the air was getting really stale when 2 sleeping in the back. We added fan blowing the fresh air from the starlight to the back, without great success, then started opening the rear doors(whenever possible) and finally we retrofitted Dometic Seitz window on the right wall next to the bed and that changed everything. Or if you don't like anyone looking through a side window place the solar panels next to each other right after the front fan and add a second fan over the bed. And don't rely on the 3M tape to hold those. This is dangerous.

    • @IanMastenbrook94
      @IanMastenbrook94  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The single fan is indeed adequate but thanks for the recommendations. Cheers

    Nice look but you guys are using some HEAVY materials. Is weight becoming an issue?

    • @IanMastenbrook94
      @IanMastenbrook94  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      We lived in this van and drove it daily for 9 months. It's actually a fairly lightweight build. I'm currently building a new van and it'll be quite a bit heavier. The camper buildout is maybe a third of the cargo capacity of this van

    • @lvl3472
      @lvl3472 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      these vans can hold tons of weight we used them to deliver granite and marble counter tops so they are very tough

  • @m.korkusuz4109
    @m.korkusuz4109 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    A little late but those tapes will melt with the heat of solar panels.

  • @GodOfReality

    Reflectix is radiant insulation, it has no real R value for regular insulation. Why did you use it on the inside of your van?

    • @IanMastenbrook94
      @IanMastenbrook94  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a gap between the reflectix and foam insulation. The issue is it does create a second moisture barrier so there is a likelihood for mold to grow between the metal wall and reflectix Wouldn't recommend it

    What did you all do to up the speedometer which goes 65 mph. I have one from FedEx, i like that you remove the ignition key and it stays on. But I been having some e shoes,on my engine, it shouts down white I'm driving. Any idea's. 2005 dodge sprinter, Thanks

      Sprinters hold ALOT of payload. This is why FedEx uses them. They put 3 full pallets in them with forklift. Depends on year & model of course but they average about 4500lbs of payload in the 3/4 ton. The dually is even more. No worries on weight in a Sprinter & the diesel motors last for many miles & have lots of power when loaded.

      @@IanMastenbrook94 Same year I bought about 6 months ago. From my research it's the best year ever made. I have spent 6 months designing my layout & installing the outside stuff on roof. I know 6 months is a long time but design is everything. I wanted alot in this van & didn't want the big 158". Harder to drive & park & more weight which is less payload & higher mpg. Design took me forever it seemed but it's finally on paper & I started the inside today. I think I may do updates on my channel to share my amazing unique design. To share a bit I will have everything you have seen in a 158" build & more in the mid size like yours. This is why design is so important & you only want to do it once. Mine will even have a washer & dryer. Like I said it's going to be a one of a kind for a mid size. Key is to make everything you can multi functional. Stay safe out there. 😎👍

      I have the Dodge 2006 too & it's no different than the Mercedes. They are bulletproof if maintained. Known to be the best Sprinter ever built is the 2006 model. Many get a million miles out of them. Dodge, Mercedes, Freightliner are all the same uder the hood. My valve cover says Mercedes right across the top of it. All same same. 😎👍

    Weight ratio ??
    Always calculate how much total(!) personal weight You need to be allowd to carry
    (Your own weight, couple, kids, invited, pets, all the luggage, hobby and pro équipements, ustensiles, water-tank, full fuel tank, Four-season clothing, spear parts, food reserve and kitchen utensiles, reserve weight, = total luggage Kg ?
    Then; how much weighs the car empty (see vehicle papers)?
    Now add to empty car weight the "luggage weight" (see above fornula).
    Subtract that total from the TOTAL ALLOWD KG to this particular model of car.
    The difference You get are the numbers of KG you are left with for
    Isolation, Electricity/solar hardware + batteries, gaz bottle, fridge, bed, table, drawers.
    This ratio awareness is never told upfront yet it is ESSENTIAL to know, to be tought.
