    I'm so happy I watched your video on the Bare Steele site. I ordered the 10mm a day ago; thanks to you I was able to reach out to their customer service (super quick reply on their part) to change it to the 8mm for my FT5000.
    On a side note; your review on the FT5000 solidified my decision to purchase. Your review was super informative. My only regret is not getting it sooner!

      Great to hear. I’ve since used even more functional trainers and the FT-5000 is still by favourite by far. Cheers🤙🏼

    I was thinking about getting the shorter pin for the titan lat tower that way can change the plates weight in 2.5, 5 , and 7.5 increments.

    • @MacStrengthCo
      @MacStrengthCo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was thinking of the same thing. Like other's have mentioned having the ability to add smaller increments often get's overlooked. Great idea if you ask me.

      Was looking for this is puetro rico. Home gyms are limited weight stacks plus comes in ten pound changes. One can't just add 5 pounds at a time. It's hard to just increase an exercise by ten pounds. Small increases are better. Add like 5 pounds at a time. Plus for some machines only go to 150 lbs. Later on like to be able to add weight

    Im confused on whether to get 4 or 4.5" length for my rep athena weight stack. 4" wouldn't stick out and 4.5" would stick out 0.5" or so. Do you want the pin sticking out or no? Thanks!

    • @MacStrengthCo

      doesn't really matter if it sticks out. Your choice.

    Be careful. Look up the video of the guy who added a 45 lb plate to his gym pin and it broke his cable machine. He broke his back and needed back surgery. He was in a commercial gym so there's a chance that the machine wasn't maintained properly but still please be careful pushing the limits beyond what a machine was designed for.

      I've heard of cables breaking on machines. Can you send the link to the video where the Pin causes the failure?

    First off, love this channel! I thought, in general, the cables were only rated for the weights the equipment came with? Will the cables not break/snap if you put too much(extra) weight on these pins? In my case I have an Inspire Fitness SF3, that I would LOVE to add more weight, to. Thoughts?

    • @MacStrengthCo
      @MacStrengthCo  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      cables should be rated for a minimum double the stack you have.

    Thanks for the review. I actually ordered the Titan Lat Tower a few days ago and this seems like it'd be a great solution for 5lb increments.
    What Rod Size did you select when you ordered yours?

    • @MacStrengthCo
      @MacStrengthCo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      10mm for the Titan Lat Tower and the 4" length since the stack is open hole.

    When I order my titan fitness lat pulldown next month this will be good to know. My free motion cable machine I think is 2 to 1 or 4 to 1

    • @MacStrengthCo

      Ya I right there with you. I was doing some ab pulldowns on my REP tower and realized I could really use a plate pin for it to add some weight. I have a review on the Titan pulldown on the channel also. cheers!

    3/8x9 bolt grade 8 plus a fender washer and 3/8 ID fuel hose over the non threaded part of the bolt. I made 5 pins for $25. They will hold 3x45 and can't slide off with the fender washer on the end.

    Aren't all dedicated lat pulldown / low row machines 1:1? I've never seen one that wasn't. 300lb stack on 1:1 is all you will ever need.

    • @MacStrengthCo
      @MacStrengthCo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great point and I cover that in the video. The pin is designed for 2:1 or 4:1 machines which are more common on cable machines. The ROGUE cable tower which can be used for low rows is 2:1.

      Being able to make smaller jumps between the pre-set weights on the stack is a big selling point. For example, the Prime Fitness stacks are 20 pound jumps, which might be a bit extreme for something like a bicep curl drop set. With the pin you can load some 5 pound plates on and do smaller jumps down the stack

    • @MacStrengthCo
      @MacStrengthCo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@connerschwerdtfeger3224 I think the ability to make smaller increments is often overlooked and like you said having something to bridge those 20 lbs gaps would be huge in itself. Bare Steel even makes some smaller pins just for that reason. Thanks for the feedback! cheers!

    • @MacStrengthCo

      It's made from 4140 steel Alloy. Which has excellent resistance to corrosion is the reason why 4140 steel does not rust so fast as compared to other types of steel.
