  • We are thrilled to share the highlights from our recent event, where we had the privilege of hosting Sne Vilakazi, Charlene Olivier, and Milan Levy. The discussions were filled with insights and strategies aimed at driving impactful change in our communities.
Charlene Olivier, the creative director of health and wellness at Ogilvy, introduced the Forever Winner movement. This innovative campaign focuses on sexual health, emphasizing the importance of HIV awareness and prevention among South Africa’s youth. Charlene shared the campaign’s strategic approach, highlighting the integration of authentic conversations on social media and collaboration with healthcare professionals and influencers to drive behavior change.
Milan Levy from Foundation presented the concept of crowdfunding and peer-to-peer donations, emphasizing how these methods can amplify fundraising efforts. By turning volunteers into fundraising ambassadors, organizations can expand their reach and engage with a broader audience. Milan underscored the importance of preparation, a clear narrative, and leveraging personal networks to achieve fundraising goals.
Sne Vilakazi connected the Forever Winner campaign with Giving Tuesday South Africa, illustrating how collaboration and creative thinking can enhance the impact of social initiatives. She introduced the concept of “Testing Tuesdays,” aiming to make HIV testing a cultural norm across the country.
    Key Takeaways:
    • Lean into what drives you and leverage your personal network to make a difference.
    • Collaboration and collective efforts are crucial for driving social change.
    • Preparation and a clear, consistent message are key to successful fundraising campaigns.
