I’m about to start my first kit and having trouble finding the glass and tile medium. Any chance you have been able to work with something else that has worked for you as I noticed these videos are a few years back?
I have also noticed that the glass & tile medium as well as the Folk Art Outdoor Sealer is no longer available. I purchased a small bottle of Americana sealer, and haven't used it yet. I am currently using Genesis Heat Set paints & varnishes, which of course need baking, and when I use air dry varnish, I am using what's left in my bottles of the Folk Art products. I will keep you posted.

Do you bake the doll after each coat of paint? Or do you bake the doll after everything is dry? Also what tempature do you bake the doll at? Please and Thank you!
What paints did you mix together for the skin tone, mottling and veining colors? How many layers do you do if each? How much water and glass & tile medium do you add?
You have to have a bit of artistic ability to mix your own colors. Just look at your own skin tone for flesh layer and add that first. Mottling should be a purplish pink or purplish red. Veins can be dark blue, medium blue, or even with some green added. Use a thin, watery mixture with enough paint to show on the vinyl. You will get the best results with thin watery layers and many of them. You will know when you have enough layers. The skin will begin to look transparent. Wait for each coat to dry before applying next layer. I use a pyrex custard dish and put the distilled water in first, then the paint, and then the glass & tile medium (make sure to stir with a wood craft stick first). I would say about a craft stick scoop of paint, a 1/2 cup of water, and a 1/4 capful of glass & tile medium for each layer.

The consistency should be milky. That will take practice. You won't need much of any of the 3. Practice makes perfect. If you use glass mixing bowls, it's easier to see the consistency when you brush some against the sides. Hope this helps

I finish the doll with just a coat of glass and tile applied to a cosmetic wedge and pounced on a tiny section at a time, washing my brush and changing the wedge a lot. This takes some practice.

I am starting right now and I have this Liqiutex matte medium and I did not really know when and how to really use it I also have a shaps and kind of same thing I know I need to use it for the lips, but on the bottle they say it is a base coat.

Well I´m not sure about posting it I have already promised the doll to my grandson, the kit is not really nice. I have bought really cheap one for a start. I will also be using my own hair, just to learn the process. And Liquitex has both satin and mat medium.

Bountiful Baby or MacPherson's also sells the tiny glass beads, but you can buy them in greater quantities for less on ebay. I use the abrasive armory on ebay. Hope this helps. Sharon

No I don't. It is too tedious for me to get the camera that close. I got a new camera and will try eventually. I just basically put a thin white tip on each nail using a thin script liner brush and I use linen white (off white or parchment). I use a thicker consistency on the nail than normal so it isn't so watery. I finish using Genesis Air Dry Gloss. Hope that helps for now!

Can you say how long do you wait for Putting another coat of paint. For xample you paint flash coats and when you can put another

Btw the liquitex did not work it is sticky still and it is a year.

What's the name of the colors?
With acrylics, you just need to start with flesh, off white, red, blue, yellow, green, and brown. You can mix these to achieve any other colors.

Do you get the Glass and Tile Medium at Walmart?
No, they don't carry it. JoAnn's Fabrics carries it and so does ebay (as well as the manufacturer's website).
You can only get it online at a craft supplier or at Amazon
I went to Walmart hobby lobby and joy Ann I can't find the glass and tile no where.
Try ebay or go directly to Plaid Folk Art's website to buy it.
