    I love those automatic stairs on the driver side! I had an Argosy, 2000, but, it didn't have the stairs. Makes it so easy to get in and out of, which is the usual complaint on a COE.
    This one looks SUPER clean! I'd prefer a bigger bunk. Something with some room to stand up in.
    The color is beautiful, my favorite shade of red!

      Heard they mess up in the cold months. Usually get frozen solid. But that’s the only complaint I’ve heard.

      @@raptorballs1546 What in particular? The motor or something else? I had a 15 liter ISX in a 2007 KW W900L. It had lots of issues starting when temps got to single digits or below. I ended up adding an internal oil pan heater, external heaters for fuel tanks & fuel filter. That took care of the issue, as long as circuit breaker didn't pop! It would fire up and shake for less than a second even on the coldest days. I think the COE's are prone to heating problems going down the road in the cold. Solve that with a winter front on grill.

      @@R2OMike yeah my bad should’ve said what I was referring to, he said he likes the auto unfolding stairs. Everyone says they’re sweet in the hot months but in the cold months they freeze over and lock up.

      @@raptorballs1546 LOL, re-reading, I see what you meant now! Thanks for clarifying!!! I can see that happening...especially in the midwest where I am from. But, scaling the "ladder" on the side can be equally as risky...I didn't care for that a lot...need good grab handles. I guess the way to fix that is to have heated auto-fold out stairs...LOL!!!

    I looked at one at the MATS show, but didn’t get to the inside. The steps I saw were mechanical, or so I thought. 🧐I love cabovers to this day!🥰 This video was really good, except for the music overloading the noise of the engine. I read some of the notes...2001 but is still can be bought from Freightliner? I’m not sure about that one! 🧐I’ve been to Freightliner for the last several years and was never given an option of ordering a new Argosy... I would have!🥰 This truck...is really sharp! I like it more being stretched, and the color is awesome! Just needs more lights and chrome! 🤩 Would need to go over the wheels and make sure that all matched!

    Big mistake, it's not a 2001, the 2018 and 2017 models look like this. You can put a Pre 2007 EPA Emissions engine into this because the latest engines with all legal EPA Emissions equipment won't fit into the engine compartment. They are ordered as a Glider Kit where you add the drive train and rear suspension and wheels. You can buy a Glider Kit that has been completed with your engine and transmission for less than a new truck from other companies.

There is no 2011-2021 currently factory produced coronados available as gliders. Granted, my gliders are 2015 and 2017 but they do not have standard assembly line VIN numbers. They are very much still legal. They just stopped making them. The length laws in the united states no longer made the cabover convenient. On top of that , they can't match up to our new fuel mileage regulations. "Aerodynamics" is the new trend. Personally I miss the old white frieghtliners, and 352 Pete cabovers.

    • @mikemascow
      @mikemascow 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Why would they be illegal? I owned a 2000 Argosy up until 4 years ago. They have incredible sight angles. I used mine in Chicago, got into some very tight areas you'd never dream of in a conventional which translated to good $.
      They have simply fallen out of favor for the conventional design. Getting complete access to the motor requires the cab be tiled forward. Hence, gravity takes whatever is inside and not locked down to the windshield! That, and the ease of in and out are the main reasons why COE faded out...but, as you see with this one, the steps let you easily climb in and out, better than a conventional!
      I will say, there are some drivers I know who are "afraid" of a the COE design, they think that they are better protected if they hit something. It's debatable. When I had mine, I'd just say "well then, don't HIT anything!". Truth is, front of a conventional is mostly fiberglass. That isn't going to protect a lot...your up higher in a COE...let's hope, you do collide, what you hit goes under you and not THROUGH you!!!
      Be safe out there.

    • @Xantec
      @Xantec 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      actually, the Argosy originated as a replacement of the old FL-B model, but like all cab over trucks in north America was a sales disaster. percived poor ride thanks to early generation CoE trucks, and a market geared to conventionals pretty much made the Argosy a sales disaster in north America, however the plant in north Carolina still makes the Argosy for export to Austrlia and New Zealand where the model has been warmly recieved and makes good sales.
      you could probably buy a non glider version for the USA, however it would probably now be a right hand drive Australian spec model, but you'd probably have to speak to Freightliner Australia to get one as you can't get them as glider-kits in the USA now. quite simply no demand.
