I think this would be a wonderful opportunity to pause for a moment and give thanks for the great contributions of the black community to our society. Their peaceful and generous nature makes them ideal neighbors, lending testimony to their exceptional family values and parenting skills unrivaled by any other culture. Their child-raising practices and skills mixed with their unparalleled work ethic are second to none. Their rational and logical thought toward circumstances coupled with their innate capability to de-escalate situations is to be envied and coveted. Their commitment to academic excellence enriches our schools and serves as an example to all who hope to achieve prominence as a people. Real estate values are fueled by the mix of African-Americans into an area due to their caring and respectful nature of these communities, an example of all they have achieved through their enthusiasm for self-improvement, hard work and a self-reliant nature. Without their industrious and creative drive, we would be poorer as a nation.
@Dante Carroll Frazier hurts every time he thinks of Ali. His hostility still rages within. It's a consuming, ugly bitterness he has carried for decades, the result of the hurtful things Ali has said. He insulted his intelligence, his character and his lack of black pride. Ali called Frazier ugly and ignorant and, most disturbingly, an Uncle Tom. Frazier, the son of South Carolina sharecroppers, was deeply wounded by Ali's ridicule which was accepted as socio-political fact and isolated Frazier from the black community. Ali somehow succeeded in making a fight between two African - American men a matter of black and white. Throughout the black community, he was an object of derision and scorn because of the way Ali treated him, it was cruel. The hatred grew intensely within Frazier. He was unable to compete with Ali's eloquence, but he had a left hook that could do the talking for him. Frazier, with loating in his heart and thunder in his Everlast gloves, punished Ali for the things he said. Notice after Ali vs Frazier 1 fight announcers said Frazier was feeling sic in his corner and he just wanted to go back to dressing room. That's because Joe couldn't slow his heart and nervous system back down to a resting state. Younger folks haven't a clue what Ali actually did to Joe, let me explain by saying it's exactly like today's Hollywood liberal cancel culture. Where was Muhammad Ali going to hide? He had hopes of returning to the ring. Hiding would have ended those hopes. Nobody knows what his reasons were for refusing service. He may have been scared, it may have been religious belief, nobody knows except him. If you don't go because you're scared of dying of course you can't admit that so you have to make up an excuse. Most don't consider it heroic to refuse to go to war when called. In hindsight the war was crap but we didn't know the particulars at the time.
Joe already had history of high blood pressure and diabetes, he spent nearly two weeks in the hospital for exhaustion, blood pressure, diabetes and kidney problems..
BUT BUT when he was in his 40s Joe was out dancing and singing in the clubs while Ali couldn't talk and his tremors were getting worse. Younger folks haven't a clue what Ali actually did to Joe, let me explain by saying it's exactly like today's Hollywood liberal cancel culture. He didn't run and hide, he stood up publicly for what he believed in. And in the end, the Supreme Court overturned his conviction.
Muhammad Ali was right.
THAT is the difference between activists then, and "activists" now. Today, they expect to do whatever they want TO you, with zero consequences. Sadly, the current administration backs them on that - if they are fighting for a Leftist cause.
Whatever he lost regarding his career can't be considered a sacrifice because 56,000 sacrificed their lives and hundreds of thousands came back physically compromised. Many others returned mentally compromised and were scorned as if the war was their fault even tho' they had no choice but to serve. A lot of suffering all the way around but at the time, deserters/those who refused to go weren't viewed as taking a stance against the war, rather, as cowards and unpatriotic.

By contrast compare that to the chattel slavery of African Americans and genocide's committed against indigenous peoples in America where they placed bounty on the heads of women and children that would be worth 4.5 K per head in American dollars (adjusted for inflation) and all that's just America! Nevermind the horrors committed by Russia, Canada, France, Germany, Britain, Spain,
I agree Ali definitely is wrong in his view that if it worked out differently that the other races wouldn't be brutal to others but at the same time history is pretty much on his side, especially when he compares our history to the bible.
How about what black folks to do other black folks? They could teach the devil some new tricks...
I loved ALI not for his sport performance , but for his ETHICAL stance when he strictly refused to play any military role in Vietnam War back then ✅
@David Mc he definitely is. Yet he had no problem taking White People money for his career
@David Mc It's always the white racist like you who tries to paint black racism as the more important issue
David Mc He’s a traitor for refusing to fight a war based off of a complete lie? Gulf of Tonkin was a false pretext to go to war.
The real traitors are the ones who have subverted the constitution and waged bullshit wars while forcing people to go fight them.
@David Mc Indeed. Ali proved his "integrity" by joining a racist hate-cult masquerading as part of the "religion of peace." The NOI was and remains an organized crime family.
@@thereisnospectrum Ali and other racists conveniently start the saga of slavery in America at Chapter 2. It was Africans who put out the "For Sale" sign to Europeans. And, many, many more of the poor souls who were sold to Europeans ended up in South America -- and some ended up in northern African countries (controlled by Muslims). How did their descendants make out?
Very few people are special enough to transcend what they do and become something timeless.
Ali is forever.
Just wanted to share with some people who didn’t know - his star on Hollywood’s walk of fame isn’t on the ground b/c he felt like that would be disrespectful to the prophet. Such humility man it’s insane. We took people like him for granted. Edit: He also said I am the greatest! Once he was struggling with Parkinson's he said god reminded I'm not the greatest but he is.
That made me really cry!
Balkan Wolf 🙄
@Balkan Wolf no there are no such orders... It is the love towards our Holy Prophet (P. B. U. H) that muslim keep beard.
@Balkan Wolf There are different opinions on this matter by scholars. And in any case, him not fulfilling an Islamic obligation does not mean that he is disrespecting the Prophet. It would only be a shortcoming of his as a Muslim.
@Balkan Wolf Hello sir , could I if you please clear that point for you ?
Actually we have a lot of kinds of holy orders but in general too simplify it for you we can sort them into 2 types :
A) duty or obligation >> that you have to do (like pray , fasting and some other things)
B) prophetal tradition >> that you would be better if you did but won't be bad if you didn't .
simply they are like MUST Vs SHOULD in English grammer

Cavett really wasn’t enjoying himself here, but Ali went on unfazed, cool as a cucumber.
Yep. I'm sure he was waiting for the producer to bail him out.
Yep, Ali was very comfortable (and "cool as a cucumber") making stereo-type, racist remakes about "white" people. It was his thing. He knew that America's big mistake of getting involved in the bitterly unpopular Vietnam War would make his racist fulminations against "white people" somewhat more acceptable. Cavett was put in an awkward position here. Any decent host would have been uncomfortable having to sit there and listen to this man's historical inaccuracies and racist tirades while at the same time knowing he had the obligation of remaining a professional host.
@@miltonsmith974 Cavett was on very thin ice when he started talking about " the evolutionary process " - so don't about racist remarks against white people
@@miltonsmith974 Naw...he wasn't put in an akward position here whatsoever. He knew what he was getting with Ali. Ali told the truth, and whether or not one believes it or not is their decision. Ali - GOAT inside & outside the ring!
A man in a Billion!
Muhammad was such a deep thinking and respected man. Watching him carry the olympic torch when he had advanced Parkinson's disease is soo heartfelt. The symbol of what he and America stands for.
The great Ali understood life and was so eloquent in expressing it, always in character when the situation demanded seriousness, but always joyful and humorous.
Muhammad Ali stood up for what he believed in.
Whether people agree or disagree with him, that’s another matter.
To have the character, reputation to risk losing all material wealth to people who he never met.
To be a champion of humanity has a prestige that the 1% of the 1% and to go against the establishment takes a courage beyond measure as it’s less travelled in society.
Boxing is what brought Muhammad to the world stage but empathy and backing up words has left him in the human Hall of Fame.

One night in December 2008, I was a friends +1 for a NYC socialite's Christmas party. I am a 38 yo BM and knew no one else in attendance. I'm standing alone near the bar when randomly Dick Cavett strikes up a conversation with ME. I'm old enough to be shocked that this is happening. During a conversation that lasted at least 2-3 TV segments, we talked about Ali. And he had so much admiration and reverence in his voice as he told story after story about The Champ. Including traveling with him to an island for one of his charity missions.
Every story has a beginning.
Why are you raising your voice?
How cool is that, Tim? I would have been nervous at first to speak with Mr. Cavett.

Yea actually anyone who did research in history and dig deep into it would agree even to this day. You can search up the harasment towards women and child in the My Lai event. American media is trying their best to cover it up and americans themselves don't like to talk about it. Actually did you know that harassing women and child was a common protocal commited by american soldiers?

Yes, Cavett showed extreme class here, when you could see he felt insulted, I wonder why Ali stayed in the USA when clearly he had the means to move to another Country? hmmm? what could it be? I don't think he had the intelligence to get his point across without insulting his host, DC kept giving him a chance to clarify his statements of generalization of all white people, he was to arrogant or dumb to pick up on it, taking the name Muhammad Ali, not knowing the history of the Prophet Muhammad who was said to own slaves, MLK was so eloquent with hosts of shows he was guest on, facing the same USA Ali was

Dick Cavett did a great job holding his tongue and being respectful to his guest.
I thought so too. He was also very patient in letting Ali steal so much of the time away to monologue. Only mistake Cavett made was not understanding what Ali was getting at in his initially sorta rant. But one mistake to Ali's like 8 is pretty good lol.
