Whaly's are great boats , I have a 435R myself. They also have a new design the 380 coming out now. Same new hull design as the 435's and larger. Just in the 12ish ft size of the 370. Much dryer ride 🤙🏼
And micro skiffs are not all about the same price. Skimmer salt marsh makes a super nice skiff for 30-35k depending on options. Others start at 110k. I happen to live near both of these manufactures. You won't see me in a hells bay or a floyd I can tell you that lol
I'm always on the lookout for a car topper as light as possible, but can handle up to 10 HP outboard. Obviously there are a lot out there, the gheenoe being one of the best. But all I've seen are well over 100 lbs. I'm am older dude, so this is a bit much. Would be nice to see something made from carbon fiber maybe? I got an American 12 plastic boat, decent weight and comfortable, but flexy and squirrely on the water, especially over 10 mph.
My very old 12 Srarcraft from the 1970's, I loaded easilly on a f100 pick up and later FJ60 roof rack for several 1000's miles. 15HP Jhonson 2 stroke, 4 Passengers, 40 qt cooler loaded, fishing gear. Fast on plane. Good for big saltwater and big fresh water reservoises. 1/2 to 1hr Full throtle trips to fishing spots or campsite. This old modelI guess over 100 lbs. Till over 60 of age still easy to load on rack. A set of tie on wheels make it easy to move arround. I'm 73, hvn't loaded it in a while. But any kidd arround can help me. Once you perch the bow against the rear rack, I'v thought about using the front hitch and a pole with a cheap winch to pull it forward if I can't
@WillyK51 that's what I did. I made a winch setup that sits on top of the truck cab and has straps going to the front bumper. By far the biggest problem is my 2011 truck is quite a bit taller than a 90s truck, making it much harder to load something heavy on a ladder rack. I can't use a trailer because I'm towing a camper.
@@Larry-d1c Guess the winch is electric, and with a remote switch? Have Wife control the winch while you push in the back. I'v seen some very smart loading devices on TH-cam. Boat loading on roof racks. Just last night my Wife was was ribbing me about getting old. I'm replacing a leaking pipe in a brick wall. Drill 5 min and rest my arm 10min
@@WillyK51 I'm with you on the 30% duty cycle with your drilling project. My boat loading was very tedious unless on flat ground. So yes, I watched a lot of the winch videos. I didn't like the weight and complexity of the front hitch mounted pole winches. I mounted a 12 volt winch to a wooden platform and set it on the truck cab with a towel to prevent scratches. Straps on the front of the platform go to right and left front bumper. I ran an electric plug through a big fuse and heavy cable from the battery to the truck bed. On the ladder rack I put a large PVC pipe as a roller. The winch has a long wire to control a relay for engagement and direct. The winch cable I feed over the rollers It works pretty well. I can send pictures if you want. Couple hundred dollars to build. It also will lower the boat by reverse cable routing.
You should check out the Polycraft 300 Tuffy... an amazing little boat for fishing and more!
You should also look into Hog Island boats !
I saw a $6500 Kayak last week. Pretty funny. I could get a used 21' bass boat for that, an old one but still.
I almost bought a Gheenoe LT 10 a few years ago. Brand new it was $5000 for the boat, motor and trailer.

@@Larry-d1c What I would do. 👍
So 90 percent of American men will be over the weight of the Gheenoe?
The gheenoe 15'4 holds 750lbs. Two adults, motors, battery and gear is no problem.
i had SO much trouble with BOBBY Skimmerskiff ... just don't
