    The BMW i7's ultra-luxe interior and technology give it a big leg up on the Lucid Air, so which Edmunds video would you want to watch on that giant theater screen in the back seat? Let us know in the comments!

    I'm not a big fan of any all electric vehicle but if I was I would still think after watching this review that the Lucid is a much better all electric vehicle than the BMW for one main reason and that is range. Range anxiety is a real thing and even as tested your own model has over 100 miles more range. This means no down time...no having to go to a charge station and wait for the battery to be topped up just enough to continue your trip no loss of time which in every aspect is a huge advantage. The interior of the BMW is nicer yes and the passengers in the back have some really nice comfortable options but unless your main objective is to be a chauffeur then it's really not something a person looking to buy a daily driver would weigh as a factor for buying the BMW over the Lucid. Not to take away from the BMW as it is a nice car even if it's not very good looking.

      Ev Range and charging speed could always be better. But for daily driving, it’s nice to just charge at home and not have to deal w gas stations. If you do a lot of long road trips, then ev is more challenging. But for really long distance, most ppl usually fly.

    Although you get a lot more luxury from the bmw for its price. It seems like bmw is equipping the i7 with different and cool amenities that havent been on a car before, but amenities that are not ground breaking. Any car company can equip a bunch of screens in the back seat and reclining-massage rear seats at a cost. But not every car company can offer the efficiency in power and range that lucid does. That being said, itd be nice if lucids price point was a bit lower.

    Never thought that the legacy automakers would be able to adapt this quickly to produce a more tech forward vehicle than the new startups.
    No area is it more evident than in the hands free driving technology gap. Tesla has been going at this forever and still can't offer a hands free driving experience that doesn't rely on the crutch of a Beta moniker!

    • @thedumbconspirator4956
      @thedumbconspirator4956 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tesla offers different tiers of hands free driving, the one on beta right now is FSD. Basic features that come as standard in all Teslas are typical ADAS systems that you'd find in other automakers as optional extras and they work just as well, if not better than what legacy automakers offer. Stuff like these includes lane keep, adaptive cruise control, collision and blind spot monitoring.
      However stepping up to FSD also throws in things like stop sign recognition, full navigation on autopilot (including on city streets, summon, autopark, auto lane change and other stuff that you wouldn't find on any other legacy built car. A lot of these features are only present on cruise/waymo vehicles and therefore rely on the beta moniker because they are unfinished, however Tesla does offer them and their vehicles can do these tasks with varying degrees of accuracy, most legacy makers don't bother including these in their cars...
      So I think all in all Tesla still has a leg up on tech. You cannot compare the basic ADAS systems that legacy auto offers to Tesla's FSD suite.

      @@jacobscheer2730 the tech/convenience packages that most legacy automakers offers similar features as Tesla's basic ADAS systems which comes free with the car and are not beta systems.
      However the $6000 enhanced autopilot package (which isn't in beta) offers a lot of features that go beyond the tech/convenience packages that a lot of other automakers offer in their models and only a few legacy flagship cars offers features that compete with enhanced autopilot (think Mercedes S Class/eqs and BMW 7 series) what's impressive is the same type of driver assist tech you get in these $100,000+ dollar luxury cars is available as a $6,000 option in a base Tesla Model 3.
      As for the $15,000 FSD Beta? No other automaker offers anything that competes with the features that you get in FSD Beta, you find those types of stuff in cruise or waymo vehicles that you can't buy.

    Bmw i7 easily but blacked out. If i get an EV it would be used like a rolls royce is. Pure luxury cruising around. It speaks volumes about the experience and driving engagement real sports cars bring u that an EV can NEVER. Ive been inside a tesla and is just doesnt feel like ur in something special. Its so dull and plain jane. It has no luxury. My buddy lets me drive his targa gts porsche time to time and oh my god, bro. The engine. The revs the downshifts. All the people checking out the car. Its insane. The noise alone is what makes me want to drive it over and over again. Best way to describe it is. Speeding in a tesla is like having sex with earplugs in. Only ur body feels it.( Except for the terrible wind noise in the cabin from poor sound isolation.) Real sports cars hit and fill ur entire senses. The rumbling of the engine the visceral special occasion it feels like everytime ur in it. Cant be matched.

    • @thedumbconspirator4956
      @thedumbconspirator4956 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Tesla's goal from their very start is to make EVs mainstream and to push forward EV technology. Making boutique $100k cars is not the way to do so. It's not that Tesla can or can't compete with legacy auto on their flagship EVs. Model S/X are still unrivalled in range, performance, practicality and efficiency. But the S/X doesn't reflect on their long term goal as the 3/y does. And other automakers playing catch up and investing in EVs to better advance electric cars was what Tesla intended to do. Remember that prior to Tesla nobody cared about electric cars. So automakers taking EVs seriously is a huge win for Tesla.

      @@unowen-nh9ov in regards to buying a EV, I would personally feel comfortable with atleast minium 400 miles before charging. You paying premium for a car so best to have premium range. I see your the type that would be all happy nothing else matters long as it's just an EV 😋
