I am an only child and my parents are divorced/remarried. I am totally depended on by not just my parents, but also their siblings (my aunts &uncles). I struggled to say no and would feel incredibly guilty if I didn't respond in a way that pleased them. That stress became so overwhelming and depressing that I got physically very I'll. I believe that was God's way of forcing me to set boundaries. It has been a huge change and most of it has been a joyful blessing. I have finally learned to love me for the person God made and loves. May ya'll be blessed.

Lord Jesus; turn towards the needs of this family and gift them with Your everlasting mercy and grace. May they come to know You Father God and encounter fresh anointing of the Holy Spirit every day. I declare peace that transcends all understanding in Jesus mighty name, Amen.

You see many men in light blue pants and boat shoes now. I guess I should admit that I live in Delaware. Lol. I would move if I had the means. Lol

I had a lot of problems, my mother in law decided that we should spend all the holidays at her house, if I didn't want to, my husband would support her , and she always played to be offended.

The most important thing to me is to learn how to be a good mother in law sometime in the future.

I read your comment and I honestly think the Lord needed me to read it. Thank you. I too am an only child and perfectionist which doesn’t help

You will be in my prayers. Being an only child that takes on the nurturing responsibilities can be extremely toxic. It doesn't have to be though. Lean into Jesus. Set boundaries and stick to them. Think to yourself about what you would say to a person off the street or even a friend about the thoughts and feelings you have and be kind and merciful to yourself. You can love and care for yourself without being selfish (that was a biggie for me). Most importantly, Jesus!!! Praise Him, worship Him, wait on Him, and listen to Him. God bless and keep you. He truly does all for our good in the long run.
