This cake was awesome! I had 9 egg yolks from an attempt at meringue icing 2x, and used the recipe this morning. Thank you for a delicious cake!

You are very welcome! I came up with this cake idea back when I was making a lot of meringue based icings, cakes and cookies. It ended up being much better than I anticipated. ☺️

I rarely comment. Thank you for this recipe. This cake came out really good. The recipe is also very simple and easy, also made it in an air fryer.

I’m so glad you liked the cake, Nabeela Maham! That’s so great it did well in the air fryer. I heard those are great to have. 😊

This is my kind of cake, fairly simple and few ingredients. It looks delicious and I'm sure it is. I'll be baking one of these later this week. I'll get the printed recipe from your website and add it to my collection. Great video as always and glad to see Maggie enjoy the sample. Take care and thanks so much for taking time to share.

It is a very fragile cake and falls apart easily due to all the egg yolks and lack of whites. But it’s so tender as a result! It’s a lot like a richer version of a yellow cake so if you don’t like those, this won’t be a favorite. But most people like it, especially when chocolate icing is added.

Hi had yolks lying in fridge didn't know what to do with all of them ... yesterday came across your recipe for this cake and brownie so tried them both, brownie tasted just yum and cake was a bit too soft as I over beat the yolk sugar mixture, add some nuts to it tasted great. Thank you for being my saviour 🙏

You just reminded me that I can make this cake with the egg yolks I have leftover from a recipe that I’m working on. 🤣 The cake batter can quickly become too soft like that due to lack of whites giving it structure so good call on adding nuts to give texture!

I don't normally have trouble waiting for a cake to cool, I have trouble waiting until it totally bakes! 🤣 I can't count how many times the center of my cakes are almost soggy because I removed it too soon. Some of them have even collapsed in the center!😬 evidently I haven't the ability to read a toothpick nor find the center of a cake. 🤦‍♀️
That cake is such a pretty cake. I need to try that one for sure.

The toothpick fails me more often than not. 😂 I like to take temperature as mine usually come out overbaked when I’m worried about it not being done enough otherwise. 😳🤦🏻‍♀️

Your recipes always look so enticing! Maggie would agree, right? So cute that you include her as I sit here sharing some pear cake with our little mini Dachshund. We inherited him, he's actually our grand dog, he's 8yrs and tiny. I will definitely be trying this cake it looks scrumptious! I have exactly that type pan too. Thanks so much!!:)

Maggie pouts when I make anything she can’t have. It’s downright hilarious. I didn’t even know they made a mini dachshund. I have to go look this up! Jackson and Maggie is close to the same age! (Vets best guess on Jackson is 8-11 and Mags will be 8 in December lord willing.)

@@Jacksonsjob Ahh, the "pout". I can take just about anything but that! lol, yes they know how to pull the heartstrings, eh? Our Doxie was 7lb when we got him, but has put on some weight which he needed. He has spent most of his life indoors, but to hang with us he has become a great little outdoorsman. He's putting on muscle! lol I read about Jackson on your site, quite impressive!

    • @Jacksonsjob

She has the pout down to an art form. She’s not very vocal and her tail is mostly paralyzed (it can only lift, no feeling in the majority and doesn’t wag) so it’s all about facial expressions with her to know her intentions. She has had going on 7 years with us to nail down her looks. She loves food more than any other dog we’ve owned. We ask her if she is part lab all the time. 🤣
Your Doxie sounds like a fun dog! What’s his name? Useless fact: I cannot pronounce their breed name for the life of me. 😳🫢😬
Jackson is a pretty special guy! He’s given me a lot in his lifetime. ❤️🥰

@@Jacksonsjob Amazing and special aren't these little sweethearts? I can't help wonder, what's Maggie's story? Why is her tail paralyzed? I hate to break it to you but I'd put our little guy (Winston) up against Maggie any day of the week for a food competition. 🤣🤣 I have to be so careful with his rations he's been on kibble all his life and had developed skin issues. We put him on a BARF diet and he eats it like he is starving, and well, I guess he was. In just 5 weeks his skin and coat looks great, he's a new dog.

Winston is a fabulous name! 🥰 He sounds like our cat Luke. My cat has been put on a diet by our vet this year and we are having the hardest time finding his calorie intake. He eats the same amount of our small cat that is perfect weight and he’s almost twice her size. 😳🫢😹🙀🐈 He’s bigger than Jackson!
All our dogs have little stories behind them. You know Jacksons, Raymond has several health problems and has to be on several meds for life and eats certain foods. He is a very sweet dog with some severe anxiety at times due to the several neurological conditions. He is the gentlest, most eager to please dog but can’t dog. He’s our quirky puppy.
Maggie came to us through a rescue and was picked out for us when the first dog we met didn’t mesh well with Raymond. She was chained up to be a guard dog and shot with bbs. Her dad is a purebred boxer and her mom was a little terrier/shepherd mix. She has worn down teeth and one broke off because of her being outside chewing on things she shouldn’t. She got loose around 8 months old and struck by a vehicle. They left her for dead and when she was still alive days later, took her in to be put down. This is what I was told by the foster lady. She had a shattered back foot, her elbow and leg fractured on the front, her pelvis was also badly broken. They put her back together with a slinky we determined as she now can bend her tail completely backwards, she has an indent in her back and her foot is turned inward. Actually it’s pinned all up. Then she rebroke the front during foster care and it healed funky and the original vet said they couldn’t fix it. He said to let her be a dog and do dogs things and enjoy her life. They didn’t know if she was going to survive at first and how long her life will be due to all the trauma her little body took. When we took her in, she came to us limping and grunting in pain. Many days she would three leg it. She was in excruciating pain and yet was the sweetest dog you could ever met. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body (unless you are a rodent.) She is the happiest most joyful dog you’ll ever met. When she gets to know you, she will howl hello in greeting to you. She runs and leeps into the air and wants you to catch her. She now runs around the yard and digs holes like nothing ever happened. She just enjoys life and it’s contagious to be around. She loves to sleep under covers and always likes to be touching you and cuddling. She’s full of spunk and sass and sweetness. She’s the best dog a person could ever hope to own. I think everyone should be blessed with a Maggie once in their life. 🥰

Can I convert this into cupcakes?

    • @Jacksonsjob
      @Jacksonsjob  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Yes, you can! You would want to fill half way to no more than 2/3rds of each tin or liner. Then bake 16-22 minutes.
