I just finished a 1 hour “50 questions” zoom consult with Joshua. We covered so much in that time. And now I have a video of that hour to refer back to. Thanks Joshua.
Thank you very much Josh. Finally someone who share the powergrade instead of luts. I'm learning color grade and try to understand how the mechanism behind looks, LUT's only give you the end result without the process
I have some question if you dont mind, are contrast and saturation categorized in basic correction or they more into look development? Is there different concept between adjusting contrast using pivot and contrast knob with tone curve.
Thank you … I finally found my ‘light bulb’ moment on parallel nodes by the way you were describing your process … I think it was the accent that helped ;) glad to have found your channel.
How nice of you to share this with us, awesome and much appreciated ! I will need to watch your Video a few times to get the hang of it, and understand what I am doing .. but thanks !!!
hi Josh. Appreciate the powergrade pack you have created for download. Do we need to import DPX, DRX or both? Can I check should they work in Resolve V17? They seem to import OK but when I click to display node graph - it's just an empty node.
Another great one, Joshua! I always learn powerful concepts from your videos. Have you considered creating a paid Davinci course? Not a blow-by-blow tutorial, but perhaps a thematic course on, say, editing a documentary from start to finish in Davinci. I'd pop for that!
Thanks a lot mate - Yes I have been thinking about this for a while. Just trying to find the right mix of information for a course and who it would be for. What are the things you would want to see?
@@JoshuaKirkNZ The video that best captures what I find valuable is "Editing A Documentary - Workflow Organisation." It's a powerful tutorial that shows how to attack large real-world projects with Davinci. You literally gave me the confidence to commit to a Davinci project structure for my current doc project. Up until that point, I wasn't quite sure how to get going. I don't want to know what the individual Davinci tools do. I can look that up. I want to know how a pro uses them in the course of real work. This is where you excel.
I'm interested in downloading your fab package but won't be doing so while I have to expose my CC number - can you set up a PayPal transfer system. Thx n the work looks like a great way to learn grading.
Yes that’s right. I personally still prefer a traditional layer mixer for the only reason of it’s easy to distinguish visually what is happening in a node tree at face value. Helpful when you are opening an old project a few months later.

Was a pleasure! Thanks!

And maybe next time you can share your tool and workflow when doing hue shifting. Thank you very much.

Glad the Kiwi accent isn't too harsh to listen to!

Appreciate the support!
Another great video, Josh. It’s a little bit ahead of where my skill set current is, but it’s where I’m trying to get to. Keep up the great videos.
Yep, another masterful approach! Thank you!
Cheers! Great vid. I downloaded the files today. I look forward to checking them out! Thank you
Enjoy - thanks for that.

Fantastic natural results. Thank you very much.
Thanks!
Helpful, I will have to get some more hours with the program.
Much thank you ! Thank you for sharing !
My pleasure, thanks for watching!

But that's not the only example, merely the best one. You have a ton of videos along these lines that are excellent.
Hi im sorry when i apply it nothing happens with the nodes i don't know what im doing wrong
Thank you!
You're welcome!
maybee a silly question, but how do you install them
In the colour page you can simply drag the .dpx file into your stills gallery.

You can download for free without needing a CC at all.
Heads up - in the 18.5 update you can directly change the composite mode of any node without needing to use the layer mixer method!

The stills d'ont work for me
Hey, sorry about that. I have just updated the download link with new .drx files. Please try downloading again and let me know if that works.
@@JoshuaKirkNZ It works now, thank you and nice video!
