Man, this is insane, ive recently gotten a job as a colorist for a production company, and have been using davinci everyday for the past 2 years, this is just gonna make my life 10 times easier, haha thanks for not Gatekeeping, this is the type of content that democratizes knowledge and allows people to grow!! Hope you get that 100K ASAP You Deserved It All!!
In 15 years as a working colourist, you are the first person I have seen in a tutorial mention the Alt+click hide layer in the colour tab. It always astounds me that so many people DO NOT know about this!
Wow, I'm just using Resolve like 5 years now, I didn't even had a slightest idea those tricks exists. Those gonna make my life so much easier when I'm grading. You rock Darren!
As a working colorist myself, it is so refreshing to see someone knowledgeable talk about color online. You really have the best color videos on the internet.
Bravo Darren! These are the kinds of craft gems that Master Colorist like yourself would pass on to an apprentice, and these beautifully produced videos follow in that great tradition. Thank you!
So awesome to see your channel grow Darren, you really deserve all the love coming your way. Thanks for all the hard work you put into these tutorials!
Long time as a photographer, and just moving into video production. I am utterly blown away by your tutorials; I am really not joking when I say that I have say with my mouth wide open in astonishment haha! Thank you so much for these incredibly comprehensive, and easy-to-follow guides.
I’ve had the privilege of working with some of the top colorists in the US and I can say, without a doubt, that this is the best color grading channel I’ve found so far on TH-cam. Great job!
These tips are actually legitimate and not gimmicky at all. Playheads and versions blew my mind. Also the disabling graphics layer in color page is sooooo welcome.
Hi Darren, just to say I couldn't think of anyone who deserves to hit that Milestone more than you .. and I look forward to seeing your Celebrations !! you have helped me in so many ways, specifically to get over my fear of Davinci Resolve, and now, although nowhere near the heady heights of a Colorist, I have better results than I ever thought possible and that is mainly down to your Videos (and of course some of your close TH-camr friends) Can't thank you enough .. and anyone reading this .. make sure you SUBSCRIBE .. this guy is the Don !!
Aww thanks Paul! Really appreciated! Very kind of you sir! Glad to have you along for the journey!! Lots of prizes to give away for the 100K live - My peers in the tech world are very generous!
You're like the best teacher one could ask for. You are so clear and explain is with no nonsense. Unfortunately, you've now made it so I just can't stand listening and watching hundreds of other TH-camrs, who probably just don't know what they're explaining to the same level of detail that you do. You're up there with Gerald Undone for me.
Love the Layers one! Been struggling with that (vs the viewing the clips). Be working on some spots with light leaks and graphic layers, but it's always wanting to grab the light leaks to color. This will solve that for sure. Also, thanks for the reminder of the playheads!
Most videos with titles like this always have things I knew, in this video there was not a single thing I already knew and I'll be using pretty much all these things. Amazing as always Darren. THANKS!
It's not just that you are a fantastic colorist and a teacher, but also it's easy to tell you are an awesome human being overall. Just the fact that you share all this knowledge for free... Thank you Darren! 🔥
Thank you sooo much Darren!! These hacks addressed so many of my problems and I know they will help me to work faster. As someone who is sometimes scared of the thousands of tools there are in an editing software, I always appreciate people like you who help break things down into quite manageable pieces. Thankful for all you do!!
Excellent, Darren! These are tips that I didn't know about (I've been using Resolve for years) and will help me every day. You explained them clearly and concisely. Thank you.
Hate to admit this but I had no idea that you could hide layers in the colour page. This is huge. I would always disable clips on the edit page level. You the man, Darren.
Thank you very much, Darren. I truly appreciate your content. I recently made the switch to DaVinci Resolve, and your videos have been incredibly helpful in aiding my understanding of color grading. Your efforts are commendable, and I encourage you to continue producing such valuable content. Well done!
Thank you so much for your powerful videos. I watched so many videos in the past few years, but never learned as much as I did from you. There are so many "pros" who make videos, but all they teach you is often wrong. All you say makes sense, and I really can trust what you teach us. What I miss most, and I have been really searching for years now, is how to handle HDR. In this "HDR" world, there are so many questions, and till now, I have never found someone who can give me the right answers. How to set up the camera, how to set up davinci, what gear do I need, what specs does my monitor need, how to setup the OS, how to export,..... Maybe you can someday bring some light to this really interesting world. I really would appreciate it. 😄😃😀
Excellent presentation, Darren. It’s funny how many of those you realize you hadn’t thought about in years and you said yourself oh yeah, I need to remedy use that. As always a first class education. All the best to you.

Hey Darren, once again a fantastic video with great content, we are always learning and with you it's like learning from a friend, thanks so much for these three or so years and for sharing your amazing experience in DR
Amazing tips. Been using Resolve for close to 10 years now and I feel like an absolute beginner every time I see one of your videos. (Can you do a video on how to properly use the Mini panel - from installation to configuration to everyday use)
I'm not a colorist, not even a pro videographer, but I like to work on video. I am an audio engineer/producer and you sir opened my eyes to the world of color grading. It is by far (IMO) the aspect of video production that looks the closest to how we approach audio mixing. Love your videos. Thanks

I would love to see a video on using colour match and colour checkers to match shots on two camera interviews especially in a cst workflow , following other tutorials I can get ball park off the colour match but almost not enough to warrant getting the card out on site.
To Darren, actually anybody who has not subscribed, your video's are the most succinct and productive. There are some great TH-camrs but by far, your style helps me evolve my own basic skills.
