I like your channel with different material and the way you explain your material. I use a Mini Panel and many resources that allow me to improve my color, including the old Oleg Sharonov software (3 D LUT) now included in DVR.
When I thought it was more than enough to do the imaginable, I see your video.
In order not to extend myself, I believe that DVR can be worked in different ways to reach the results and even with all the existing possibilities, this resource is very interesting because it allows us to go into very specific details. I wish they could integrate it into the Mini Panel to correct full screen!

This is only valid for Paid version of Davinci Resolve . Do you have any for free versions
I have a slightly different version of this DCTL (functionally the same) and it's my favorite DCTL. I've been using it for over a year now and it's been invaluable on different projects.

I installed the DCTL in DaVinci and I have no menu of any kind showing. Verified it's in the right place. I have other DCTLs that work fine.

It’s a random question to ask here, but I hope you can answer it anyways. I have been struggeling with this lately. I have two BMPCC6k’s and am shooting with the default settings (gen5 color science). There are several ways to get them to rec709 in resolve, like using the embedded lut if shooting raw, or selecting the right lut in resolve. Another option is to use a CST. But if I do that and use the settings that I THINK are correct (ICS Film gen 1 colorspace, IG Film gen 5 Gamma, OCS Rec709, OG Gamma 2.4) gives me totally different results. More color, more contast, in some cases a nice, but more video-like image. I understand that a lut and a CST treat the image in a different way, but this difference is quite extreme. I have been thiking: ‘I wish I knew a colorist who I could ask this’ and then I found your channel. Hope you (or the community) can help.

@xyrean I've been trying to find the answer to that same question. The best luck I've had is not using a CST or a LUT, but instead going into the project settings>color management then setting color science to Davinci YRGB Color managed, deselecting automatic color management, and setting color processing mode to Custom. From there I put my input color space as Blackmagic Design Pocket 6k Film Gen 4 since I have the 6kpro, the timeline color space as Davinci WG/Intermediate, and the timeline working luminance was Custom 10000 nits. The Output color space that works for my monitor is Rec.709 Gamma 2.4. I got most of this from Cullen Kelly's videos on color management, but a lot of colorists seem to prefer changing the project settings as opposed to having a CST. The LUTs they seem to prefer more for building the look and then uploading to your Blackmagic camera to display on the camera monitor. I have thought about reaching out to Blackmagic directly to ask which colorspace is the correct one to choose since there are so many options for their cameras and I haven't found any definitive answer on TH-cam or the forums. My other tactic is going to be using a test shot with all of the different color spaces to see which one fits my camera best.

I believe the input color space you are using in the CST is incorrect.
This is the way I do it:
ICS: Blackmagic Design Wide Gamut Gen 4 / 5,
IG: Blackmagic Design Film Gen 5.
OCS Rec.709
OG Gamma 2.4
This gives me almost exactly the same result as using the LUT (BM gen 5 Film to Video).
Also make sure the camera is set to shoot in Film.

I have a question cause i see that you dont edit like other pros, you dont use your hdr pnael and only use the primaries.
Also, you are working on a rec709 workspace right? cause you never use two cst to enter on DW color space.
Im trying to grade slog2 from my sony a7r3 and its fuckin complicated cause everyone did on his way :( i dont know if i should work with two cst... one like you.... apply the grade after or before that cst... so annoying haha

Thanks for the information. It's really useful tool. I've tried in linear, log and 709 colorspace and linear seems to be working best for this tool. 709 colorspace it behaves very different than other cs.

@diogoglov i ported the default settings of this to a premiere sequence. also did it as a powergrade for resolve(will work in the free version), also ported it to fusion, photoshop, AE. although the DCTL makes it a loss less cumbersome though lol.

hey guys, im getting the resolve watermark...
I find this tool doesn't work on Resolve 18.6.6. I can load the DCTL into the node but no color options appear. Do I need some other enabling software?
I am using it on 18.6.6 build 7. On another tutorial I was instructed to create a folder named DCTL inside de LUTS folder and drag de DCTL there
@@ElMeach Thanks for the reply. I did (I thought) exactly as you said. I have since upgraded to the ver 19 beta DR studio. It worked fine there with no further action on my part. It will have to remain a mystery why it didn't work with ver 18.6.6 for me. The ver 19 beta is great, tons of new features and I haven't run into any bugs. I'm not going back.

It does the same thing basically. But I prefer it as I can adjust the different hues with much more precision.
