- Lagatha had a huge day!
I have been buying parts for the last 6 months and saving them to be installed at Mike's Fabrication and refinishing once he finally had an opening.
We installed the AEV 2.5" Dualsport suspension, Hellwig rear sway bar, JKS Flex Connect, Artec Freedom inner Fenders, Poison Spyder vented hood louvers, Old Man Emu Steering Stabilizer, Molle Platform Solutions spindle light mount, and a Factor 55 hawse fairlead with flatlink....Whew that was a lot!
We didn't get too in-depth with the install footage because we had SO MUCH to do but man this suspension was a game changer!
She drives like a sports car now and the lift actually gave me an extra inch which Kim said I needed!

Thanks so much Adam!
Did you replace your control arms too? Sorry for all the questions still learning what I’m going to need lol
Not on the 2.5 inch but we are changing my wife’s to a long arm set up.
My jeep drives better than stock
What was total cost of this set up? Roughly? Should I regear my jk sport unlimited if I put this kit on ?
Probably around $1500 but no I have not had to rehear and I’ve driven 65,000 miles on this lift!
Great collection of add-ons!!! How do I decide between the AEV 2.5" , the AEV 3.0" or the AEV 3.5" lift kit for a Rubicon with BFG 315/70 R17 tires?
The 2 1/2 inch kit will be fine but we put the 3 1/2 inch kit on my wife’s and I wish I would’ve went bigger because now she looks really sexy on 37’s!
I've got Bilstein 5160's. Can I buy this kit without the shocks?
I don’t think so because the Bilstein‘s that come with this kit are actually tuned to the springs they’re not off the shelf 5160s
Nice. What size wheels and tires are you running im picking up a jeep next week first mods bumper and I would like to do tires and wheels. Love that look you have of the wide tires. I assume the fenders play a role In it aggressive look. I also want wide tires. Any suggestions on size? I don’t want to do 37” tires maybe 35” at the most. Thanks.
I’m running 35x12.50x17 on our Jeeps. Congratulations on the Jeep!
@@DownSouth_Adventures No issues with rubbing the 35s?
@@grantmoon624 No rubbing at all even when I completely stuff the tires off-road.
Are those the shocks that comes with the 2.5 Dualsport kit on the JK? I’ve been shopping this lift and the shocks look different on most vendors photos.
Yes those are the shocks that come with it they’ve updated the way they look with the new kits.
Online the sites still look just like my wife’s shocks she has an older kit
It’s a phenomenal ride
Did the bump stops come with this kit, I thought they were just spacers and ordered polyones to replace my disintegrated ones
They were included
Crap. It even says spacers. So ordered 130 bucks worth of poly ones. Will have to return. Good ol amazon
Thanks!!
Why did you chose the 2.5 instead of the 3.5?
We chose the 3.5 for my wife’s because it’s the true offroading jeep while mine was more for on road traveling.
At the time it was mainly a budget issue because when you go higher you potentially need a different driveshaft or spacer.
Her 3.5 rides just as good as my 2.5 and I wish now that I had went bigger but I was broke then lol.
Parts list?
Hey Joel It’s in the description buddy. The only thing missing is the AEV dual sport 2 1/2 inch lift kit.
Put the shocks on upside down
Well if that’s the case they’ve ridden like a dream for 2 years and 70k miles
