I love how the instructors don't get angry and start yelling making the Drivers anxious/uncomfortable. But, unfortunately after seeing this the roads scare me a little

I’ve been learning to drive for two and a half years, my instructor was the nicest man alive but he was very patronising. I like to think I’m smart, but there’s things I struggle with, like my left and right when reversing. He’d joke about things, and say “you’re a woman, you should be able to multitask” and that made me more nervous than anything else. The worst was when I’d get nervous about cars getting up my arse end, he’d just laugh at me. One more thing, we were at a car park and it was three days before Christmas, I waved across two people knowing it was safe and he went, “don’t wave them over that’s wrong, you just look at them. They’re too busy looking at you than to check the other side” I don’t know why he had to say that, I get it, but that just made me lose even more self confidence in myself. But I passed my test third try, so now I don’t have to deal with his “you’re a woman” comments. No I’m not a woman I’m a Shrexy fuck off.
Can't imagine making people wear masks in a car. They are already nervous enough, then having to deal with something infringing on their breathing, I would have passed out. Glad I'll never put one on my face.
Thanks for this wonderful tip. I just got my license though but I didn't take the test. I failed thrice when I tried taking the test because I have always been a nervous person and because of that I had to enquire about the DMV test drive until I was told to hire a licensed test drive specialist who helped me in getting my license, I on the other hand thought I was gonna get a provisional license since I wasn't taking the test but to my greatest surprise I got a Class D license.
Kinda heard about this stuff but i had doubt but seeing this i would love to know the process you took in hiring the professional because i have done the test twice and it seems most of the instructors assigned are rude which made me give up at first.

The problem isn't the mistakes while they are learners. The problem is that they still drive this way after having received their licenses. Plenty of people like that outside.

08:20 he gets a minor for skidding on an emergency stop?? You're literally taught to brake 'firmly and abruptly' as if a child just walked in front of your car so of course there's a chance of skidding because the front wheels lock up while in motion.
He also seemed to check his blind spots before moving. Then again, they really want you to hurt your neck in the UK looking around until you're disoriented
I past my test first time in 1981. I was always confident. I looked and observed my dad driving and thought one day ill be doing that. Yes, I make the odd mistakes but if you stick to the rules of the road you shouldn't go far wrong with your driving. Indicate with every manoeuvre, don't cut corners, give way, don't overtake across solid lines . Be aware of all road users around you. Park in a safe place and certainly not close to junctions.

Get a different instructor. There is no excuse for that and it will make you a more nervous learner/driver in the long run. My first instructor was like that and it took a lot of work (and patience) from my new one to put me right.
a LOT of the issues could be prevented by slowing down and preparing early. it's really helped me anyways, I used to drift into other lanes on roundabouts and drive into junctions wide.
Unlucky I passed In October had to wait 2 months for a booking but nevertheless at least I’ve passed, must be really annoying for ppl who’ve had their test cancelled multiple times I feel for you.
My first test was cancelled in November then December, the next was made for Feb which will be cancelled too. A friend was due hers this week and it’s been re-arranged for May!!! I don’t think I’ll get mine before July at this rate 😩

It's a common thing to do here in the UK as part of the UK driving test. This is called the "Emergency Stop", where the examiner tests to see how alert the learner is and how they stop per se in an emergency. Since learners are learning, they cannot be put in a real-life situation where they do this emergency stop, so examiners tend to go to a quiet road and put their hand out as they say "Stop!" as a safer way to test this. The guys looking backward actually looked really funny, I didn't notice that when I watched the full video, so seeing that is hilarious :) The men had nothing to do with the emergency stop, it was just funny to watch their reactions to the braking. I hope this answers your question!

I wasn't meant to do one on my driving test but someone pulled out in front of me on a junction (I had right of way as i was on the main road, they were on their phone), and i had to swerve and emergency stop. The examiner paused the test for 5 mins to make sure i was okay and asked if i wanted to continue or book a new test. I continued, had to do another emergency stop when someone undercut me at a roundabout and managed to get back. Passed with 0 minors!!
@@jamiehickley1407 we do it in sweden to, its not thats werid, it is to see if u have reqctin and now how to emergency brake/Stop if u come in sitation with a animal jumoping on the road, or someone start walking or a crash etc etc, it is quite important to know how to do that brake and to know how far u will go depending on speed
Yes, if you back the video up to around 9:30 or so, you can hear the Sat Nav say 'right on roundabout, 3rd exit.' He should have approached in the 3rd lane, but instead approached in the 2nd and started to drift over whilst in the roundabout.
I remember my first test. Passed just fine. Got dinged on "over caution at a stop sign." Stopped behind the line. Creeped so I can see for on coming. Stopped. Then went when safe to do so. My instructor didn’t suggest taking one until I’d had enough experience to very very rarely need intervention, so it seems a little irresponsible? Idk, I know I’d have been less confident after an experience like that
The only way to learn is to do it the hard way, learners will not gain growth and confidence if they stay on a simulated course or sit in theory classes.
Well, in the UK if anyone is near a crossing like that you have to start slowing down when a person is near it and start stopping when they get going on the road.

BUT slow down like slow down significantly whenever you see people walking in a sidewalk ? in most countries you are required to slow down in near a sidewalk but there are no laws that says you must keep slowing down upon seeing a pedestrian walking in a sidewalk. only slow down when crosswalk is near and yield to pedestrians "crossing" or are "waiting to cross". not slow down on pedestrians using the sidewalk. can i ask what is the speed limit in the UK

Edit: for anyone wondering...by pressing clutch at the same time as break, he removed engine braking cause car to skid. So, press brake *then* clutch, so engine braking helps car stop faster.
@@The_Reductionist Going into a skid would be classed as losing control of the vehicle, which is dangerous as the car could have gone sideways... Emergency Stop is braking ASAP whilst keeping the car under control.
@@The_Reductionist Going at this low of a speed the car will stall if you slam on the brakes without pressing the clutch in almost immediately. I guess you should brake hard but not violently. ABS will stop you from skidding usually but better to lift the brake pedal a little bit until you regain traction so you can brake in the shortest possible distance.

in uk right of way goes to person to your right. so they should have gone before the blue car and the other cars should have waited. that's why the black car passed them to turn right
So you are allowed to go in the roundabout even when the left side decides to enter before you? After the first left car entered the cars behind followed through even though they should give way to her.
@@_JOJ_ It's the same principles, give way to oncoming traffic from the right or left for you mainland Europeans. Indicate left/right just before the exit you will take.
If the examiner interferes during the test, are they still going on?. In the Czech Republic, the examiner sits in the back and next to us is a driving instructor and any intervention by an instructor means an immediate end to the exam.
It’s not an official test, it’s a practice test with a driving teacher. They allow the serious mistakes to occur so that they can go through what the learner needs to work on in all areas.

@@cherryhappily I believe driving instructors in the UK have a degree of tolerance on how to gauge if a learner is just too poor at driving. They let learners continue driving even if they are fully decided to give them a fail mark in the end as a "consolation gesture" to let the learner gain at the very least confidence despite committing horrible faults, wanting to give the learner their time and efforts worth.
@@adrianridgway4333 which? the brake and cluctch, because thats an emergency brake, in sweden and germany and other countries, you do an emergency test/brake, and that mean go hard as you can on both. if u only break hard on the brake you get a motorstop
@@Theaddekalk In UK and I've been taught to brake quickly and firmly then clutch straight after. That way you get a bit of extra brake power from the engine. Fortunately that skid wouldn't have failed his driving test anyway, what failed him is not checking his blindspots. Easily done but a rookie error.
i feel like if you are as bad at driving as some of these people that you shouldn't be allowed to try again. You will never be a good driver...take a bus.
Roads were designed for horseback which hasn't exactly translated well for cars in some parts. Even some parts of the USA are like this, thinking Boston, Massachusetts mainly.
Unfortunately UK roads are still not designed for modernity, very rare you will come across a residential or subdivision area where houses have a garage or a yard that has enough space for parking

Agreed completely. ABS avoids skidding (not completely). This car definetly has ABS. I’d say this minor fault is irrelevant

@@_JOJ_ It's the same principles, give way to oncoming traffic from the right or left for you mainland Europeans. Indicate left/right just before the exit you will take.

If the examiner interferes during the test, are they still going on?. In the Czech Republic, the examiner sits in the back and next to us is a driving instructor and any intervention by an instructor means an immediate end to the exam.
It’s not an official test, it’s a practice test with a driving teacher. They allow the serious mistakes to occur so that they can go through what the learner needs to work on in all areas.

@@SocietyCope It will continue but its a failure. In the UK if they grab the wheel or they tell you anthing such as slow down or back away from the car for example. It's a failure. Or obviously if you make a serious fault
@@cherryhappily I believe driving instructors in the UK have a degree of tolerance on how to gauge if a learner is just too poor at driving. They let learners continue driving even if they are fully decided to give them a fail mark in the end as a "consolation gesture" to let the learner gain at the very least confidence despite committing horrible faults, wanting to give the learner their time and efforts worth.

@@adrianridgway4333 which? the brake and cluctch, because thats an emergency brake, in sweden and germany and other countries, you do an emergency test/brake, and that mean go hard as you can on both. if u only break hard on the brake you get a motorstop
@@Theaddekalk In UK and I've been taught to brake quickly and firmly then clutch straight after. That way you get a bit of extra brake power from the engine.
Fortunately that skid wouldn't have failed his driving test anyway, what failed him is not checking his blindspots. Easily done but a rookie error.
@@adrianridgway4333 this is the correct way. You still stop in the same time and distance (minus the skid) but show more control and less panic.

Roads were designed for horseback which hasn't exactly translated well for cars in some parts. Even some parts of the USA are like this, thinking Boston, Massachusetts mainly.
Unfortunately UK roads are still not designed for modernity, very rare you will come across a residential or subdivision area where houses have a garage or a yard that has enough space for parking
