Nice! I paid 74 at Walmart for mine last week, but it was still a lot cheaper than anywhere else I could find, given that the list is 135 or so from CampChef.
I was lucky and got mine at walmart on clerance for $20. Walmart manager said it was on clerance due to selling out stock because new model is going thru a name change, and currently $177 at walmart online
Great review! I just purchased this same stove, but not a Camp Chef. I looked around and there are several companies all branding this same Chinese made stove. The one thing the Camp Chef doesn't come with is the plate that sits right on the top of the stove for pans. That piece is $20 if you can find it in stock. The Fire Maple Fixed Star 2 is the same stove for $62 that comes with the pot attachment, but no adapter or stand for propane. I picked up an adapter and 1lb propane bottle stand separately on Amazon for about $20. So I'm into the whole thing for around $82. The cheapest I could find the Camp Chef was $80 at Target, but again, it doesn't have the pot attachment, so you're looking at close to $100. I got it for a SHTF scenario and also to take with me on my side by side rides so we can whip something up on the trail. Thanks again!
The Stryker kit can be had on-line at Walmart for $50 under the name "LITHIC All-in-One Stove". In store, it's branded as the Camp Chef Stryker multi-fuel stove for $65, go figure. I'm ordering mine on-line.
I will verify the boil time on this gadget. It boiled in less than 2 for me, also. It boiled before I could even get the lid and the seal off a new jar of coffee!
You replaced the power strip! Great video as always! I’ve always wanted to tell you that i liked your “Brownells” sticker. I worked there after school when i was a kid picking gun parts and helping ship them out! At the time there was only the one location in Montezuma, IA. Now there in a huge warehouse out of Grinnell, IA. Great place for any gun parts and some survival stock as well!
haha yes someone noticed. That old power strip has been with me since around 1995, it was filthy and nasty and finally I figured it was time to get a nice clean one. Saw the yellow one in Walmart and got it. Been shopping at Brownells for years.
That's an awesome little stove. I'm kind of surprised that the propane boiled the water faster than the butane, but either way, you're all set with this stove. Thanks for the video!
So he did not fill it all the way to 1L witch the pot holds. I just got one then tested it with my brother-in law . so on mixed fuel it takes 4.5- to 5 mins. And, propane it took 14.7 to 15 mins. So, depending on what you are cooking or accustomed to. Or how hungry you are. That is the boil time "rolling boil". By are stopwatches. That is the time it took to hit 220° from 58° river water. That was 5 to 9 minutes between fuels vs. jetboil. Altitude May very. That's Northern Minnesota. Great product. If you buy the smaller fuel can. It will fit in the bag with the boiler. O' and you can't cook with a pan unless you buy the adapter sold separately. But, absolutely awesome boiler So far. On the superior hiking trail.😋
Thanks for the info and demonstration! Question: Do you ONLY boil water in the included pot, or can you dump a can of soup, or brown beans in it and heat it up in there? Is the included pot easily washed? Thanks in advance! :)
I bought mine from Amazon but it came from a Walmart in Illinois. And was 85.00 not as good as 64.00 but my Walmart doesn't carry them. I asked if they would and they said their distribution center doesn't have a skew ( not sure if the spelling) for them. 85 is still better than 100+ for a jet boil.
Thanks sharing this review it’s useful. Hi will you review the “pot support adapter” i like to know the function on that flat steel that comes along with the kit “pot support adapter”.
I bought this exact boiler . Havent used it yet but had a question. I bought a few iso butane canisters but it isn't rated for what's in the directions book. Idk if it really even matters
I just got this but noticed if I screw the heat ring tightly onto the fuel then it won't light. I don't hear any gas when I twist the ring. If I loosen the heat ring them I hear gas and it lights. Did you find the same? Also the propane adaptor slowly leaked fuel all weekend so we had none by the second evening with a large tank that we had only used twice to hear some water for meals.
Hi. This looks like a bigger pot version of the Fire Maple (1L pony) and that will take an iso canister in. Also the Fire Maple has an additional pot/burner stand that goes on the burner so you can then use it with any other pot/pan of the correct size.
According to the printed directions if you leave out the propane base and adapter you can fit a can of isobutane in the pot.... it doesn't say what size of can though. But if you have the propane stand and adapter you can't fit anything else in there.
LOVE the fuel efficiency; not so much the rest of it. I'd love to see someone engineer a heat sink device like that, with a container of course, that would work on a Coleman type two burner stove. In time the fuel savings would pay for it. An alternative would be a unit similar to that one, designed from the get go to work with propane and use a hose to stay closer to the work surface. Why hasn't someone done that? Maybe the gas cylinder companies pay them not to.
There is one, the name I could not remember in the video, its the Optimus Terra Weekend HE Cook Set, has the same bottom and can be used on coleman type burners, it works pretty fast as well.
Not bad. The pot and pot/lid are decent and the stove looks well made, but if anyone wants the set they better jump on it fast as it has been discontinued by the maker, according to CampSaver. That set is going for ~ $80 on Amazon by one seller who still has some, as of now. Based on the quality of the pots, I think that is kinda steep.
I found this today at a Walmart on the clearance aisle for 17 bucks. Couldn't grab it quick enough 😊😊👍
Wow now that is an amazing deal.
He meant amazing steal! 😎😆🏆
Got mine for $30 at Wal-Mart in the clearance aisle today.
Nice! I paid 74 at Walmart for mine last week, but it was still a lot cheaper than anywhere else I could find, given that the list is 135 or so from CampChef.
Just got mine at my local Walmart for $64. Great review and I can't wait to get it out on the trail.
@CJ Wilemon Yikes!!! 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
thanks for the demonstration, I would say about 100s is about right and what most manufactures claim. Good Information!
I was lucky and got mine at walmart on clerance for $20.

Awesome channel! Lots of good information and links to great products.

Very nice and half the cost of a jet boil plus multi fuel options. Very cool

Informative, helpful and thorough review. Much appreciated. Picked mine up from my local WM tonight (1/22/21).
Perfect for the ice fishing sled, tailgating bag, etc!

Nice looking stove!! That's very quick to boil water!!
That is a quick boil time 👍 TFS

Dual fuel is a major plus. And Walmart's price isn't bad
A great product and a great deal at $65. 🏆
Excellent review! Just bought one and looking forward to using it soon.
Wish my Walmart was not a POS or they may have it. That is a versatile product. Great for glamping.
Awesome Video! Thank you for posting. Can't wait to see more content 👍
I've had a Jet Boil flash since 2009.
Works just as good as the day I bought it 11yrs ago.
Do you think that this will last as long as a Jet Boil?

I'm in landscaped I already have a coleman stove and this is my next purchase for the winter for warm soups 🍲 🙃

Great stove and review. No sellers currently on amazon ? . but I'll check back. Thanks, enjoyed as always.
Yeah, I have the link right on top of the description, there were 3 sellers this AM, I hope they are still there.. but ya never know!
MeFOTO Back Packer Air Tripod 🤘🏻 You will love it.
Use the Flame King Refillable 1 Pound Tank. #flameking
Propane Runs Hotter 🤘🏻
Thank you for the video.
Not a bad stove. I like the Walmart price. I see you have a different power strip.
I’m surprised that the butane won’t fit inside.
Wall-Mart has Toter Trash Cans Now 😅I bought one as soon as I saw it.
I bought this exact boiler . Havent used it yet but had a question. I bought a few iso butane canisters but it isn't rated for what's in the directions book. Idk if it really even matters
Any propane or iso butane will work I have used both

I really just want that stand
sweet!
Soo... can you boil it with the lid on or is it not a good idea?
yeah no problem
I saw a guy put the Jet boil can in the kit without the propane stand and it closed up with the little locking cable.
Just bought one at wal mart. The manual shows that you can store the butane canister inside but cant make it work.
Albert Levy you have to use the 4oz canisters
You can but only sacrifice some adapter like canister support will not be included in the packing.
If you leave the propane valve and base out, can one of the large butane cylinders fit in the unit?
Naa would not fit just sitting on a larger cylinder

MeFoto Backpacker Air TriPod. 🤘🏻

The total is now around $145 on Amazon. Those jerks!
65 bucks walmart
Still $65 at Walmart... just bought one today.
