I feel like nowadays people judge others for asking questions out of curiosity. His approach and his wonder is refreshing. Her responses, personality and grace are amazing.
Hello and good day, I agreed with your comment The problem is is we've become such a hive mind that we surround ourselves with people with similar beliefs, ideologies and any person that does not share those beliefs or ideology or at best challenge said belief or ideology by asking questions to get a better understanding of that ideology or belief is often alienated hated on and criticized. This is because when you are in a collective that shares the same belief or ideology of you you don't particularly need to ask questions, explain yourself, or lay down the foundation and when a person comes along and ask questions they are immediately alienated because of asking questions.
The problem is, trans people are constantly being interviewed and having to explain themselves and transness to people they barely know. It's not fair to put education on them solely.
@@RaroHi that's a good point, but in order for some people to understand a situation it requires asking questions and unfortunately at time you end up representing a group rather you like it or not.
true but one can do research with the internet. there are people who write, bloh, vlog and even professionals that specifically eduacate on every topic on this planet online and even in person. asking people randomly about intimate questions even out of curiosity is alienating and actually inconsiderate and rude to the person being put on the spot. also no one can always 100% accurately represent a whole community of people especially if its random and the individual is not as versed in the entire collectives experiences. also it's important to first ask if it;s okay to ask an intimate/ contorversial and personal question first out of respect to the person. it's dehumanizng to treat another person as a curiosity. One still has to have manners and decorum towards others. It seems some people forget to be respectful and polite just to sate their curiostiy or because they want to be entertained. I'm not saying that is what is happening in this video but there is nuance to this. IF one is actually interested the first thing to do is seek out information from sources and people that are already offering it and providing it. if you do meet someone you are curious about ask with manners as in first ask if you can ask them and also if you can ask personal questions and also respect if they are not in the head space or not comfortable to answer a question or questions, and this is not just about being trans this can be applyied to any demographic (type of identity or background).@@Nightcall411
@@rene3759 I definitely agree with asking permission before asking an intimate question, but looking on the internet and reading articles and vlogs will only lead to misinformation. At the end of the day what's important is the person that you're speaking to directly to ask their opinion. Of course their opinion is not law nor does it speak for the majority of the community, but having an intimate conversation their opinion will be valid. But going on the internet and going online the majority of information on the internet is often misleading, biased, or heavily altered with an agenda. That's not to say that an individual asking them directly can't have their own agenda or bias. But you also have to remember that there was a period long before the internet and computers where people were able to ask questions, I think the only way that people can understand one another is to directly ask each other questions. I do agree that you should be respectful of the individual and ask the individual their permission before asking such intimate questions.

This was an amazing conversation to see! She's really inspiring and I can relate, I'm Vietnamese and agree with her take on the impact of wars in the culture and parenting (though I think it stems as far back as Chinese influence too) and I barely know how to speak it. Historically though, Indian had huge cultural influence on Vietnam - the historic trade routes, even the Traditional medicines have Vedic influence and a lot of the famous temples in Vietnam have Hindi inscriptions because that was the Indigenous culture's religion until Vietnamese people & Buddhism took over. We're like the Texans of Asia who branched away from China, separated & took over and mixed in some of the Indigenous cultures.

Got to ask all the questions I've genuinely always wondered. I like how Julie was very open and understanding of people curiosity.
im not even gay but I love when u interviewed the lqbtq+ community cause they were so funny for no reason hahaha
"I'm not even gay... they were so funny for no reason." You need to stop categorizing people as much as you do. You might as well say, "I'm not even lefthanded but I love it when you interview the lefthanded community 'cause they are so funny for no reason." That'd be an absurd thing to say because what does being lefthanded have to do with anything? Whether you are gay or not is immaterial, though the fact that you even feel a need to bring it up indicates that you have some uncertainty over the matter. So let me let you in on a little secret - most straight people, deep down, are curious and occasionally find themselves attracted to members of their own sex. The same holds true the other way as well. Now, maybe I hold that opinion because I'm bisexual and am projecting myself onto others, but I think that most people are a little bisexual at heart. Many people have told me, whether they were straight or gay, that they've considered being with someone of a gender that is the opposite of what they'd normally be attracted to. But my main point, Elijah, is that people are people, and we are all far more alike than we are different. All that really matters is character - is that person a good person? Is that person honest, kind, empathetic, caring, loving, forgiving, responsible, reliable, et cetera? Whether someone sucks cock or licks clit has nothing to do with character, nor should it be the basis of how that person is viewed.
"I'm not even gay but" is just kinda unnecessary to say. You don't have to be part of the community to like the person from it.
@@borgir4458 It's not unnecessary. It's an essential part of the point OP was making. The comment wouldn't express the same thing without it. OP obviously doesn't believe readers would think that you have to be lgbtq+ to like interviewees that are lgbtq+.

This is the first time I've seen one of your vids. I couldn't stop watching.
At 2:42 about why it seems like fetishization has a really interesting history. Western culture has a history of making eastern women seem docile and hyper sexual. That plus labeling a range of cultures as “exotic”(very short explanation lacking a bit more context). Being into Asian culture can be viewed today as fetishization due to a bit of hypervigilance. People maybe questioning “in what way are you into Asian people??” Because people are weird

1. She seems so sweet 🖤 & 2…SHE IS STUNNNING 💖😍☺️
i've been following julie vu for yearrrrssss and it's wild to see her on this show
this was a unique interview for sure. it was nice to see someone ask genuine, curious questions without being bigoted. good job bro, you were really open minded and respectful this entire interview
i love this show it's absolutely addictive
I honestly enjoyed every second of it, not only it's fun but also knowledgeable. Already cannot wait for the next one.
I totally understand it from both perspectives. Sometimes it's to lie in the beginning, to see where the person's head is at "imagine being super rich it changes everything in relationships" I really just think you should intimate "and I absolutely mean before sex! But for some it would be before they catch feelings and definitely for introducing them to family.
Great there are platforms like this where we can ask what some would consider controversial questions
Thank you for looking the A up! Asexuals and pansexuals always get forgotten
What's that stand for?
@@yoitsme1626pansexuality is sexual interest independent of gender.
So where a bisexual person might be interested in many genders, but nonetheless make an internal distinction in the way they perceive their attraction, pansexual people simply feel attracted to people independent of it.
This is at least how I've had it explained to me by pansexual people.
She is soooo classy I’m obsessed 😍 perfect woman to have represent the community 🏳️⚧️
Dude you're still on TH-cam? I thought you quit. I'm glad I found this channel.
“So what are you?”
“Half Indian, half Dutch”
*instantly interested*
I love Julie for being real, people always bash me when I say it became a trend.
