This is a very tasty recipe 😋. But I tried this today, it was good but bit bitter. So if u are trying this I recommend you to boil this 8 - 10 minutes at first instead of 5 minutes. This recipe was awesome. Thank u so much Ma'am.☺️
Only use the white part of the peel because no matter how much you boil it, it will come out bitter, because of the citrus oils. Just slightly trim the orange part.
Assalamu Alaikum 💐 MashaAllah nice recipe👍Allah pak aap ki family ko apne Hifz-o-Aman mai rakhine Ameen.aur aap ki family ko khush rakhe aur bore nazar sye bachaye aur lambi umar karye Ameen sum Ameen . 🤲🤲
Ma'm, what it means we don't need to boil the peels again & again..rgt? Boiling just for 5mts & the in sugar syrup for 15 mts must be quite sufficient..okay..thks..let me try for my kid..😋😜
Tried it today. The bitterness still strong even after 3 times of changing water n boiling. It has a tingy sensation on my tougue n that's made me feel uncomfortable to eat them.
Yeah you need to use a scraper on the oranges first before removing the peel that way all the bitterness part of the peel is trimmed out before boiling and candying the peels themselves.
That's because in the vid she didn't remove the pith or the white part behind the peel before boiling it that tasted bitter. What you need to do is use a peeler instead to avoid getting most of the pith and scrape the rest in the peel. Also boiling it will force the peel to absorb the sugar and at the same time cook its acidity making it still less bitter even if you remove the pith, alternatively what you can do is place the orange peel in an air tight jar then add a desirable amount of sugar, shake it everyday then leave it for about a week and you will get a 'oleo saccharum' that can be then turn to either a snack, jam, tea or use in cocktail recipe.
