My Great Uncle was a captain in the war and was a beach master on Omaha. He was in the first wave in the attack. He directed the landing on that beach and helped soldiers out of the boats. He was one of the first American soldiers to land in France that day. He also helped land General Patton in the invasion of Sicily at Salerno. He also served in North Africa. On Omaha, he was standing under heavy German fire. Somehow he made it out alive that day. I went to Normandy and saw these beaches. It is crazy to think about what happened there. It makes it feel wrong to complain about being cold after seeing that. In the American cemetery there was a a quote from a soldier saying “ I said to the man next to me ‘if there is a hell this has got to be it.’ Then a minute later he took a bullet to the head.” Rest in Peace Captain F Perry Williams. I wish I met you. God bless America.

I actually thought paradoxically enough that Frontline did a better Omaha Beach than Allied Assault did, given the console limitations. Obviously CoD WWII blows them both away now
@@albertomartinez714 I do have to say the MoH Frontline version was more memorable because that was the first one i played. Regardless I'd say both are replayable as much as the other and I still love them both.

Lennart De Vos If you paid attention the beach wasn't easy after Omaha, it had the most casualties, Besides the merville battery was taken out of action by 150 men of the 6th Airborne, and pegasus bridge was relieved by elements of lord Lovat's commando's, canidians task was to move inland towards Caen, which they did and paid the price with the britsh, polish, belgian, dutch and french units whilest keeping SS panzer division busy so the americans could break out and outflank them.

It's easy to pass it, just take cover Among the steel. If you have low heal just go to the medic officer on your left but don't forget to walk only when the shots stop. Usually the shots will stop about 5 second.
I want to see the Normandy invasion done in a modern game engine. We've got the ability to render so much more detail now. More character models, farther draw distance, better smoke and explosions will all bring us closer to a realistic depiction.
I don't know why but I loved that thompson sound and reloading animation. I still love them. What about that Springfield sound. Damn, this game was so nice. Also, this game still has the best D-Day gameplay ever.

Ah, the good old days of gaming, when every character looked alike, all ammo was universal, and every bad guy dropped it in an ammo can. When you didn't have to hold X, and "Search." When hip firing was just as accurate as using the sights, and no matter how many times you were wounded, simply drinking from a canteen would heal all wounds magically, and without lasting injuries. We miss you, good old days of gaming.

I remember playing this game on the GameCube when I was near 6-7 years old, totally oblivious this was actual history that was made, the accuracy of atrocities war makes on both side of either spectrums. I played this game and got into the Berlin missions loving the guns and the voice acting at such a young age.. weird how even though this game was very historical and I had no clue really makes me wonder how children perceive the world during these awful times. Hope the world finds better days.
wow... This game is amazing! It recreates and captures the horrors of war in one of WWII's darkest and bloodiest battles. You can hear the fear in each soldiers voice. Genuine sounds from the MG42 firing upon screaming american soldiers. Truly astonishing graphics. You can see the tears rolling down there cheeks. 11/10
Omaha on D-Day was one bloody battle, but not bloody as near as some others. Allied forces attacked with surprise and caused very few casualty on landing. If german were prepared, casualty would've been like at least 5x more or even 10x or failed.
The Mg42's sound could be more realistic than that. It's already better in Airborne. Although i love playing MoH AA multiplayer in Stalingrad, Destroyed village and Omaha with buddies :D
No, not really since in real life even more soldiers would have been screaming, crying, and getting their limbs blown off. This game only recreates and captures a bit of the real horrors of D-Day Omaha beach 1944.
"Saving Private Ryan" was released in July 1998. I watched the movie and this game is what turned me into a PC game player and gave me a REAL appreciation for what the allied soldiers really had to go through knowing that in REAL life, if the beaches of Omaha, Sword, Juno, Gold & Utah were not taken on June 6, 1944, TRUST me when i say that the USA we know today would have been taken as a NAZI territory. I wasn't even born but just thinking about how close Hitler came to making that happen gives me chills every time. "Operation Overlord" beach storming also drew directly from the movie at times. It for me will always be the G.O.A.T for WWII FPS shooters. God Bless America...
They've never been able to recapture this matter-of-fact feel. Even the latest WW2 games feel scripted and melodramatic. This felt very disturbingly real
Allied Assault's Omaha Beach scene was what I played first in middle school before seeing Saving Private Ryan in high school. I remember it being way more realistic on a CRT monitor with great loud speakers in my dad's computer den. Simpler times back then when this game came out.
+ThisIsNotMyID withJaveable I figure the parachutists and glider teams that made their drops directly into the enemy (some cases accidentally) might have seen the longest odds when they had to seize strategic locations and wait against the onslaught for the rest of the allied invasion to catch up with them.
This would still be fun even by todays standards I remember playing this back in 6th grade and it absolutely blew my mind. i remember not ever seeing anything so amazing. This game could have been as popular as cod if they really thought about the multi player.
They had Castle wolfeinstien ET online 32 vs 32 in over 350 different maps This map you seen was one of them and you had 5 different classes each one had its own gun or thing ..medic.. heath kits Co-op you could steal the enemys uniform making you look like them until you killed someone..then do it again
You really don't know what you are talking about. This was played for more than 10 years online and I can ensure you that it was one of the most competitive online games of all times. Just name a FPS game that was played for more than 10years. You should search before saying BS.
but unfortunately in a modern remake they wouldnt only update the graphics, they would also ruin the gameplay with modern standards for console audience.
After ages of not playing this, I realize how heavily they "borrowed" from the Private Ryan movie. Were these sister companies? Because nowadays the movie studios would go sue crazy.
Zach Forman Thank you! This just shows how much more popular movies and games are than the actual heroes who served. It's like they have completely forgotten that this actually happened in real life. Really depressing honestly.
***** What Chris asked is if they borrowed from the movie, which they obviously did. This is pretty much a 1:1 copy from the movie (or as close as they could get back then) - including the standing near the bunker with a sniper, the blowing up of the fences.. No one here denies that the D-day invasion happened, but the manner in which it is told can vary greatly depending on the storyteller. For example, compare Enemy At The Gates (USA movie) and "Stalingrad" (german movie) and you get two completely different views of the siege of Stalingrad despite them "telling" the same battles.
I disagree. Did they really have that many soldiers? Did they really take cover like that? Did they really shoot down the surrendering German soldiers? etc etc etc. There are details that are told differently in each story depending on who tells the story. Look at the mood Spielberg made with his movie, the manner in which he shot it. It is that manner that is copied in the game. Spielbergs movie could be considered close to the actual event - which is something only the veterans can trully know - but it's still just a presentation of it. Even Spielberg admitted he had some artistic license to make some scenes more dramatic. There's nothing wrong with the manner in which both Spielberg or MoH made this way, I'm not hating on them or anything. But it's clear MoH was heavily influenced by Spielberg's movie.
i was around 9-10 years old when i played this game, and this mission is the only one that i clearly remember. although i dont remember graphics i just remember this loud noise, scared faces blowing up people's, which made my memories all so autentic like it was real.
I still remember when I used to play this game when I was in 6th grade. It took more than a month for me to complete this mission on hard mode. When I completed the mission, I was really overjoyed. Those were the days:-(:-(
You’ll get to relive it this year! A reboot of Medal of Honor is coming to VR. Yes, it’s WWII Yes, it’s Authentic, And yes, there will be an Omaha mission.
The ending credits list Spielberg as one of the two writers for anybody thinking this rips off Saving Private Ryan... Badass game, still play this now.
+TheColonelAngel Imagine it as essentially the same as the Omaha scene in Saving private Ryan or The Longest Day except far more protracted and much more disturbingly violent.
+TheColonelAngel Now that Battlefield 1 has been released which is set in WW1, the next one has to be WW2 :D and hopefully a Normandy invasion mission!
Without doubt one of the best games I've played. Whole story goes on ages and sound track is brilliant. Nothing ridiculous, just proper good old fashioned weapons, etc. I wish they would update this game to better graphics. Only down side, the online multiplayer version is ruined by hackers and cheats.
Bruno TaTa In the end the online version became a game of who had the best hack. I refused to hack, I saw no point in it,. Much better finding a server with honest players, but it became rarer and rarer.
+Arcadio Buendia What the fuck are you talking about? I didn't mention any names and couldn't give a flying fuck who 'elmagico' is, nor have I ever heard of him.
I do remember the first day I played this mission on my PC, even my hands shaked on the mouse and keyboard after watching Saving Private Ryan :D. Classic
They need to give WW2 games more attention with the good graphics we have now, like cod and medal of honour did, That is verry true and not a rambo thing or one hero shit, but realistic just like then, that would be awesome goddamn, fucking game industry these days... al the same sort of games..
9yo me will always remember what a blast this game was, you felt so immersed ! Edit : 20 years later i'm still having chills. The sounds, the voices, the animated faces (damn it was 2001!!!)
The sound design alone trumps COD WW2’s version of this. The guns, battle shouting and the explosions are so much better. CODs version is so quiet. Amazing how a 15 year old game portrays a more realistic version of this battle than something that came out in 2017. This is such a good game. Bring back Medal Of Honor in WW2.
Correct me if i'm wrong but i think this is basically the scene from it. or maybe cause i've watched that movie sooo many times. its a good movie though.
this was the best depiction of dday any game had imo i remember playing this game when i was 10 and i couldnt wait to get to this level i still remember the level before it wich i had to escape the german camp on a train
***** Trench warfare was the majority of the entire war. In France, all soldiers did was die and stay in trenches until the Americans came and helped make actual progress.
9 ปีที่แล้ว +1
StealthyTNT No shit, Again it wasnt entirely trench warfare though, While most of it may have been ( a big majority ), that i never denied, but attempting to be my ninth grade history teacher and stating the obvious is rather un necessary. There are battles that would be interesting and wouldn't be as boring as everyone predicts if made into a game. Neither would they be as trench dominated as everyone assumes.
***** Hey if you want an accurate WWl game then it'd be filled with trenchwarfare. If you don't want trenchwarfare in an accurate WWl game then you won't have many options and it'd be a very short game.
***** Also there is a somewhat accurate WWl game. It's on the Canadian War Museum website, it's called Over the Top I think, if you want accurate then go play it and see how satisfied you'll be...

Stalingrad was worse..and 30- cold
HanKyeolYoon it was one of the bloodiest in terms of time frame, if I remember right ~10,000 dead in a day
The Mg42's sound could be more realistic than that.
One of my favorite shooters. I don't know how many times I beat this game as a kid. It sure holds a special place in my heart.
I was there, Omaha Beach, Point Du Hoc, Arromanches. Looks still the same like june 1944.
6 year old me playing this was the best time of my life.
No wonder i like history now
They've never been able to recapture this matter-of-fact feel. Even the latest WW2 games feel scripted and melodramatic.
This felt very disturbingly real
I played this game this mission like crazy. Goosebumps everytime I played it. I really panicked sometime !
Allied Assault's Omaha Beach scene was what I played first in middle school before seeing Saving Private Ryan in high school. I remember it being way more realistic on a CRT monitor with great loud speakers in my dad's computer den.
Simpler times back then when this game came out.
I tell you what, if they had to Remake these games With todays Graphics and on consoles... Would surely be a top seller!
Martin Boyle I'll buy it without hesitation.
I hope someone remakes it Soon It Would be amazing
+Martin Boyle 2 words: Red Orchestra 2
+Martin Boyle I have I7 920, 6 GB of ram, Directx11 ati 5850 1 GB ram and I play older games more then this new. Old school rules.
fuck this they would ruin it anyway
Everyone had an intense time on d day, even if you were the parachute regiments, everyone went through hell
+ThisIsNotMyID withJaveable
Is that how you remember D-Day? It was a walk in the park for me.
▶ Obtenir votre PS4 gratuitement => *SonyPS4 .fr* !!!! Medal of Honor: Allied Assault (War Chest) - Omaha Beach on D-Day
+ThisIsNotMyID withJaveable I figure the parachutists and glider teams that made their drops directly into the enemy (some cases accidentally) might have seen the longest odds when they had to seize strategic locations and wait against the onslaught for the rest of the allied invasion to catch up with them.
i miss this game
who doesnt
Krokussify yeah true
mustluvkatina yy
Call of duty WW2 is remaster of this
@MR. JONNE bro need your support please sub
i used to play in 2002 with a Pentium III 166 MMX with Nvidia Geforce 256 64 mb. Great game. The father of WW2 games.
This game was the shit, I just started playing Rising Storm and it reminded me so much about it
Kamil Limak Saying something is "the shit" is a positive thing, not negative.
Santana105 Yea seems like he didn't get it :P
did you check the release date of this game?
Kamil Limak epic fail noob!
Kamil Limak By the way Rising Storm is a pretty realistic game
I had that game as a child, they gave it to me but I never played it and I always had it saved, now I know what I was missing
Oh man I played this SO MUCH when I was a kid. I even memorized when and where a German would show up on the Trondheim mission.
lol me too. Loved that mission!
Good shooting with the 1903. Makes me miss Day of Defeat. That was a fun game.
Woaw, this game was actually immensely popular, solo and multi. They just did a Nokia.
Yup if MOH would've made these games with today's technology they would've blew COD away.
You really don't know what you are talking about. This was played for more than 10 years online and I can ensure you that it was one of the most competitive online games of all times. Just name a FPS game that was played for more than 10years. You should search before saying BS.
This game was my childhood. Damn i miss this game :(
i wonder if they can remake this with modern graphics
but unfortunately in a modern remake they wouldnt only update the graphics, they would also ruin the gameplay with modern standards for console audience.
RotDSKyle07
Agreed. I can see people jump-spin-dive-quickscoping their way up the beach now
*****
What about MoH Above and Beyond VR to celebrate 20th anniversary of Medal of Honor and Saving Private Ryan?
@@Kyle07 How will graphics mess up gameplay?
Oh my.... memories 😭😭I used to play this game with my grandfather 😭😭so sad
After ages of not playing this, I realize how heavily they "borrowed" from the Private Ryan movie. Were these sister companies? Because nowadays the movie studios would go sue crazy.
Spielberg created medal of honor
All of this really happened on June 6th 1944... (AKA D-Day) Spielberg just made a movie from it. Nobody copied anything.
Zach Forman Thank you! This just shows how much more popular movies and games are than the actual heroes who served. It's like they have completely forgotten that this actually happened in real life. Really depressing honestly.
*****
What Chris asked is if they borrowed from the movie, which they obviously did.
What I love about this mission is the noise. So much random noise and sounds that mentally overwhelm you.
i was around 9-10 years old when i played this game, and this mission is the only one that i clearly remember. although i dont remember graphics i just remember this loud noise, scared faces blowing up people's, which made my memories all so autentic like it was real.

I still remember when I used to play this game when I was in 6th grade. It took more than a month for me to complete this mission on hard mode. When I completed the mission, I was really overjoyed. Those were the days:-(:-(
i was like 9 when i played this game and this is the only scene i remember 😀
Same or geht mir genauso if you are german
Thank you for letting me know you're smiling
You’ll get to relive it this year! A reboot of Medal of Honor is coming to VR.
Yes, it’s WWII
Yes, it’s Authentic,
And yes, there will be an Omaha mission.
best d day gameplay ive seen in a game ( if only modern graphics)
Today is D-Day's 75th Anniversary !!!
Im birthday is on D-Day!
The ending credits list Spielberg as one of the two writers for anybody thinking this rips off Saving Private Ryan... Badass game, still play this now.
imagine this game with star wars battlefront or killzone graphics
+TheColonelAngel Imagine it as essentially the same as the Omaha scene in Saving private Ryan or The Longest Day except far more protracted and much more disturbingly violent.
+TheColonelAngel Now that Battlefield 1 has been released which is set in WW1, the next one has to be WW2 :D and hopefully a Normandy invasion mission!
TheColonelAngel It's a damn shame Star Wars Battlefront 2015 was never this good.
Vince Lam Now, it does set in WW2. But with females.
Fuck the graphics
Legend says people with low end pcs from 2008 like me still plays this game.
Without doubt one of the best games I've played. Whole story goes on ages and sound track is brilliant. Nothing ridiculous, just proper good old fashioned weapons, etc. I wish they would update this game to better graphics. Only down side, the online multiplayer version is ruined by hackers and cheats.
***** Aren't they all? Nerds who don't give a damn about the simulation aspects of games, they just want to win.
Bruno TaTa In the end the online version became a game of who had the best hack. I refused to hack, I saw no point in it,. Much better finding a server with honest players, but it became rarer and rarer.
+trancehi
"elmagico" was not a cheat, he was just a damned terribly good sniper in free for all ;)
+Arcadio Buendia
What the fuck are you talking about? I didn't mention any names and couldn't give a flying fuck who 'elmagico' is, nor have I ever heard of him.
Taught me more about ww2 than history books ❤️
imagine this mission with Battlefield 1 graphics..
it's my dream
You have got it in cod ww2
Murkol Gaming not true have you played the game it last for 30 minuets this last for like 15
EA: I got you fam, you wanted a woman with a prosthetic limb and badass makeup storming Omaha Beach?
Muhammad Asad Soomro now day is graphic but crappy gameplay
I do remember the first day I played this mission on my PC, even my hands shaked on the mouse and keyboard after watching Saving Private Ryan :D. Classic
if only they remade this with BF4's frostbite engine
"NOOOOOO GOD!!!!
NOO GOD PLEASE NO!!
NO
NOO
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO..." - The Office
Zelousmarineinspace why not? it looks like a movie
They need to give WW2 games more attention with the good graphics we have now, like cod and medal of honour did, That is verry true and not a rambo thing or one hero shit, but realistic just like then, that would be awesome goddamn, fucking game industry these days... al the same sort of games..
hawekeye1 Red Orchestra 2 :) even though most people don't even know what that is
Zelousmarineinspace give it Arma graphics then!
I loved this game. My first shooter I got on PC, loved every second. I wish they would remaster it.
This game had great animations for its time
thx for posting. I played that so many times.
Nostalgia total... joguei e zerei várias vezes esse jogo ! Que massa , parabéns!
9yo me will always remember what a blast this game was, you felt so immersed !
Edit : 20 years later i'm still having chills. The sounds, the voices, the animated faces (damn it was 2001!!!)
the good old times it was fun to play this game
The sound design alone trumps COD WW2’s version of this. The guns, battle shouting and the explosions are so much better. CODs version is so quiet. Amazing how a 15 year old game portrays a more realistic version of this battle than something that came out in 2017. This is such a good game. Bring back Medal Of Honor in WW2.
ULTRAWIDE true dat but cod ww2 has been a good cod in terms of storyline and campaign
Oh i agree, i did enjoy it.
After 13 years again I playing this game.. amazing feeling :))
It took quite a while until I saw that the game was modeled on the movie Saving Private Ryan :D
It looks like the scene in the movie save private ryan
ikr
Yea
Correct me if i'm wrong but i think this is basically the scene from it. or maybe cause i've watched that movie sooo many times. its a good movie though.
Saving private ryan was a great movie and yes it was on omahha beach
The medal of honor games, the creator is Steven Spielberg, the director of that movie.
this was the best depiction of dday any game had imo i remember playing this game when i was 10 and i couldnt wait to get to this level i still remember the level before it wich i had to escape the german camp on a train
I remember this being the coolest level of the whole game
And the hardest
Coolest level was and forever will be the king tiger bridge mission
The sound when bullet hits the wather
We are in serious need of an atleast almost accurate D day let alone ww2 game, and also a ww1 game!
Not entirely, but trenchwarfare would probably get annoying.
***** Trench warfare was the majority of the entire war. In France, all soldiers did was die and stay in trenches until the Americans came and helped make actual progress.
It's on the Canadian War Museum website, it's called Over the Top I think, if you want accurate then go play it and see how satisfied you'll be...
i played this game and mission like a thousand times. its still easily one of my hands down favorite game of all time. crazy how basic it looks now it used to be so immersive back than.
they should remake this game with 2015 graphics 10/10 would play :D
+Entro Entro They already have a HD Remastered version.
+Tristen BF1942 already mad this look like nothing. Then FH2 went full throttle with a160 player cap version of ohama beach. Good times. PR still plays it though. 120 players on the sever at the moment.
+Entro Entro Medal of honor series has been shut down sadly, And they seem to think we don't want WW2 shooters any more, Hopefully the genre comes back
+MrSixiesRock A next Gen beach storming mission would be fucking amazing. Imagine the npc count and the sheer size of it all
Tristen For sure, Lets hope WW2 makes a come back soon too gaming
Awesome game. Really loved it back then and will never forget the strength of the Omaha Beach.
0:50 poor them...
Rest In Pieces
I used to play this mission again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again..
