Out of all of the d-day legos builds I’ve seen this one could be one of the best the stop motion was made really well

The first few minutes of the video describe quite well what Hein Severhol, a 20-year old Wehrmacht private went through. He was hiding in a dug-out with his MG42 and 12,000 rounds of ammo and fired at each landing craft arriving at the beach. He alone is accountable for over 1,000 casualties. He retreated when he ran out of ammo. He survived the war, but was haunted by those pictures for the rest of his life.
He also said that he specifically targeted the landing crafts as soon as the door was dropped... If he had not run out of ammo countless more would have never made it ashore...

He wasn’t responsible for 1,000. Maybe a couple hundred, but that’s been debunked.
@@aceboogie3086 12,000 rounds of ammo, maybe close to 100 given the fact most humans fire indirectly at times to not hurt people (crazy thinking I know) but idk 1000s of dead. Maybe the company or garrison maybe but one dude with a machine gun can't create that much death in one afternoon.

About 40 years ago I visited West Point for the 5th time. I used to live near there. The museum is wonderful. An old man was in one of the exhibit rooms and I spoke to him. On the wall was a large painting of the D-Day beaches during the assault. He started to cry. He said it brought back terrible memories of that day. I told him I was sorry and that we were proud of him and all of the others. I’m 75 now. This country is the greatest in the world but I wonder for how much longer. 😢
America is having not the best time but until you have elections still everything will be ok. At least I hope so :)
And yeah, I do understand that old man. My grandpa was a ww2 vet, twice wounded, had a piece of shrapnel near his spine for the rest of his life and he never talked about the war time. just repeated all the time that it was terrible

Not only is his art extremely difficult, hard work, but its a great tribute to the hero's who made sure we aren't all speaking German or Japanese right now. Its also a great way to get our children interested in learning about WW2 & why we must never allow war like that to happen again.

What’s with the Japanese people
When I watched the movie, that young soldier yelling for his mom was the part that will probably stick with me for the rest of my life. It made me realize how meaningless war is and how many young people who could have had wonderful lives got sent of to get shot to death.
