    Awesome. I agree that it's the best engine ever made, and I'd give the 300 straight 6 Ford the second place spot on the list.

      I would have to 100% agree, I have a 97 f350 7.3 and still have my 87 f 150 straight 6 manual, I love the low 4x4 gear it's crazy crawling power... 👍🏻👍🏻

    Put the ratchet extension in the square hole on top of the fuel bowl and twist it open its that easy smacking it is why you had a hard time and how you crack the plastic

      The China fuel cap was closer to 3/4 than 1/2”. It stripped immediately. So went to next best thing, did not make it in the video. I prefer the Motorcraft or Wix filters. Thank you for the feedback. Stay tuned since the next video will be out soon! 🤘🏻

    What a dream truck. I have a 94 IDI 7.3 0BS 4X4 Extended cab. 220,000 on all Original. And it's every bit that clean or cleaner. So I don't know if that motor has been replaced. Either way you have a great investment in a fun toy. Can't Wait to watch the rest of your videos.

      It appears it has been out. They cut the radiator support and poorly “patched” it.

    If your gonna pull the fuel bowl. I would go ahead and replace the lift pump and associated little short fuel lines.

    Have you considered going E-Fuel? I've converted 3 OBS trucks to E-Fuel and not regretted it once. Less mess and equipment in the valley.

      I would not be against electric fuel pump. They are proven. What do you do with the void in the top of the motor?

    That is one clean OBS Ford. How long has it been sitting? Great save on this one. The Schrader valve will release the air and you should have straight fuel coming out for priming. Replace all the suspect rubber hoses while you are there.

    I wonder what the previous owner was thinking of to replace the motor at 220,000 miles??
    I have a Powerstroke 99 late model with 370,000 still runs pretty good.
    I’ve been driving it since 2006 a bit more rusted than yours.
    The long crank time made me think of several things primary oil pump and glow plug relay.
    I used to have to crank my engine over when it was colder than 50 degrees F but I found out the problem was the glow plug relay wasn’t working. It’s not very expensive.
    Fixing that fuel leak is also a good idea.
    Is there a part two of your truck rescue?

    • @southernrevivalautomotive
      @southernrevivalautomotive  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No idea. Although some 7.3's have failed even early in life. I do know that a massive oil leak while driving will kill one. Such as dipstick tube dumping all the oil while driving. Majority of well kept motors not abused last a very, very long time.

      @@southernrevivalautomotiveactually they will shut off due to lack of oil fed to the HEUI system, so you don’t have to worry about running her out of oil :)

      @@bigian5656 tell that to all the folks that burned these motors up while running down the interstate when the oil dipstick tube blue out. Dumps all oil , HEUI stops firing around same time the bearings run dry

    The fuel bowl cover is just a 3/8 extension with a wratchet

      Usually 1/2” but the Chinese one was even larger and stripped immediately

    Try removing the icp sensor and crank if no oil you know for sure it’s the ipr if no check engine light might be the icm if it’s the icp you can unplug and get a default 500 psi and will crank there’s a lot of little shit that can cause a crank no start but that’s a very nice truck you have there I’m jealous lol I have a f350 super duty cab and chassis runs great gotta love the simple reliable 7.3 power stroke

    • @southernrevivalautomotive
      @southernrevivalautomotive  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It was setting for years and was told it had bad fuel leak. That’s why it was parked. Wait until you see the ipr pigtail in the next video or the fuel bowl video. Was insane . Thank you for the feedback.

      I might get a 97 crew cab 2wd with the 7.3 with a disc brake rear end from a newer truck super duty I think, on a trade for my race car. The truck wouldn't stay running last week so I'm waiting to see if they get it back on the road. If they do we're gonna do the deal. My race car is useless for me in my life now and We're definitely going to be moving again in the next year. For that alone this truck will be worth it.

    Okay, my comment is this. I appreciate getting old 7 3 to get going. I love that it's awesome. Makes me want to click on these type videos but let me say this why in the world. If you know you're going to do such a thing, why would you have like zero tools? Why would you use garbage tools like some kind of guy that had no money or not? No resources, nothing like that. Get some decent tools please. What's the matter with you anyway good luck
