The key to being as wise and profound as Charlie is, while cultivating the concomitant level of foul-mouthed intimidation... requires a fine balance. You have to find and maintain , within fairly tight parameters, the exact level of Scotchification required. Consistency is key 👌
Michael Schumacher didn't only have the fastest car, the entire team was built around him, everything was designed to make him win in a time when there was no price cap and unlimited testing they had a test driver driving around maranello as much as they wanted, and they had an exclusive relationship with the Brigstone tyre makers long before everyone else was forced to use them.
I don't know anything about racing and even I thought that was a weird thing to say. I thought he was going to say that Schumacher had a team to help him win.
I don't know why this show never talked about PBS Newshour. They might not be as flashy as divisive as what the Newsroom ended up being, but I think they do a good job talking about important stories
I just rewatched all 25 eps. Tremendous. But Lisa & Hallie… Jim was bad at women because Mac pointed him towards Maggie. Also, Margaret Judson played Tess. She was formerly Keith Olbermann’s assistant IRL. Not sure she was acting. I’d watch a spinoff of her and Gary’s life together.
There is a great scene later in the episode when Mac is watching a clip of a Michael Schumacher race and then calls Charlie to take the job office. As others have mentioned this gave Charlie the fast car (Will) and the great driver (Mac)
Well you can argue Schumacher joined teams when they were not the best and only after he joined them they became the best (and after he left they stopped winning).
I have watched The Newsroom on repeat, and I only just realized the line about Schumacher, which I disagree. Sure he had a fast car, but in 2003 his car had plenty of competition from McLaren and Williams. Only in 2002 & 2004 did he truly have a dominating car...
Charlie (Aaron) was right. Do you really think Schumi would have won 7 titles if he was stuck at Minardi? It takes a brilliant driver AND a great car. That was Charlie's point. Will and Mac together make an unbeatable combination.
This show gets better every rewatch
Just in case nobody knew, Mac is wearing a US Army PT shirt she obviously acquired while in Afghanistan.

Mac is truly such a great character
Absolutely loved this show!

Schumacher was a beast behind the wheel

It takes 2 things: a fast car and a magnificent driver :D With the Newsroom, in Mac and Will, Charlie has both!
♥ this show!
1:54 love this part. Charlie knew all along
Charlie's line here is my favourite line in the whole scene

Pbs newshour is fucking fantastic
If they had talked about PBS at all, it would have been about the corporatization of PBS.
1:05 True, Schumacher had a fast car. But he also had team mates in the same fast car and he beat them all!
yes just as soon as they were asked to move over.

People say the same about Hamilton when he joined Merc but nobody gives him the benefit of the doubt there
@@redluca56 Hamilton and Schumacher are both world class drivers. Schumacher is a professional, Hamilton a boring, showboating playboy.
Is she drinking a bottle of Guinness?
Ya - why?

bar nee
How dare he dishonor the legend of Michael Schumacher
You mean the cheat?
Take it up with Aaron.
Get over it, just a TV show!

This was never a scene in the show. Must have been deleted.
It's a flashback in the last season
@@Reflexzzzz I can't believe I don't recall it.
last episode 3rd season.
Flashbacks for Charlie and his influence in bringing it all together ❤ 😭
