    Drill holes to fit dowels and PVA glue them. Would be a much better fix, I’m guessing.

    Good video, but chisel will,do less damage to door then hacksaw for trimming cocktail sticks👍

    great tip thanks. I was thinking of cutting away a circle and then filling it with filler (hopefully still leaving room for the latch mechanism). Glad I dont have to bother with all that now 🍺

    Very simple and very effective! Even if it only last a year it's a great result for no cost and very little effort! Thanks for sharing.

    You can also but ‘through bolts’ so that you don’t have to rely on the screw thread in the repaired wood (which are weak as the grain of the cocktail stick is in the wrong direction), also cocktail sticks are generally too hard and matchsticks or cheap kebab skewers will work better as well as cleaning the holes out with a small drill before gluing in the ‘dowels’

    What's going to stop your new screw holes from eventually becoming like all those previous chewed up holes? Surely you'll have to keep coming back to redo this repair?

      Door was hollow before. Now has wooden plugs all the way through.

    that doesn't work for me anymore, probably the holes are already too big, can I use a mixture of super glue and sawdust instead?

    • @KarlFixes
      @KarlFixes  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeh or thicker pieces of wood but saw dust mix should be ok

    Did you have to put any filler in the holes to make it secure?

    • @KarlFixes
      @KarlFixes  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No just the wood it allows the acres to grip it

    Interesting but the lever handle should have been straight when refixed
