    Thank you for sharing this video, we're happy to see that this setup is working for you. Scarlett interfaces are class-compliant, but we cannot guarantee that they will work with every Android device. Focusrite interfaces are tested and proven to work with Windows, Mac, and iOS devices.

    • @ArtemorbidMusician
      @ArtemorbidMusician  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Hi Geo, great question and I can tell you that it will not work, here's why, the unit still needs power, when you connect it directly, it is only pushing out a signal and its not able to use the phones power because the phone is only detecting it as an external device. I tried it several times before realizing that is not possible to connect this way.

    I want to record my vocal and karaoke together in scarlet solo audio interface. I want scarlet to record the karaoke sound directly by using input 2 to get sound from pc together with my vocal coming from input 1. People usually use guitar in input 2 but I want to use karaoke sound to use as input instead of guitar. Of course karaoke can be played in background and fed from input 2 using another mic but why not do it directly for better sound quality?

      Sometimes on the phone you have to give the app permission to record. Check your app settings and see if Smule App has permission to record. The only other thing I can think of is maybe the cable could be faulty in which case maybe a new cable is needed.

    Every attempt to use android as a mini studio is latency latency latency.
    Any tips on how to reduce/fix that problem

    • @ArtemorbidMusician
      @ArtemorbidMusician  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      hi there, here are a few things you may be able to try. Check the test conditions
      Latency test results over 250 ms might be due to poor test conditions. Make sure the microphone can clearly pick up the sound from your speakers.
      Adjust latency compensation
      On Android, you can manually adjust latency compensation by going to Studio Settings - Latency Fix -Advanced Settings.
      Adjust the buffer size
      A higher buffer size creates longer latency, while a lower buffer size creates shorter latency. For example, on Windows, you can change the buffer size by clicking the Focusrite Notifier icon in the taskbar, clicking the Settings menu for your interface, and adjusting the buffer size using the dropdown menu.
      Choose the right audio interface
      Look for an interface that can run at low buffer sizes without overwhelming your computer.
      Use low-latency mode
      In Logic, you can click the Low Latency Mode button to cancel any processing on your channel. However, this can also remove real-time effects processing, which might not sound great

      Found a workaround to make this a portable live streaming possibility. Something i've tried & works great.
      Connected to a Samsung S23 Using a passive guitar.
      Guitar connected via 9volt battery powered Di Box.
      SLR out Di box to focusrite. 👍
      57 Mic to focusrite via SLR.
      USB from focusrite to USB A female on the Y splitter lead.
      10,000 mAH rechargeable pocket battery bank to USB C female on the Y splitter lead.
      USB C Male end of Y splitter lead to USB C of S23 phone.
      Earphones to focusrite.
      Turned on battery powered active Di box with battery bank connected via Y splitter lead & it works flawlessly 👍 Crisp & Clear / No buzz or crackles. 👍
      One thing i find is that if you are wanting to record audio then your phone / tablet has to be in video mode.. press record then pause button of the video in order to keep the focusrite on if you just want to jam without recording. Then just un-pause to record. As the focusrite needs a constant digital signal via usb in order to stay in audio signal on mode. Otherwise it times out after a few seconds. In live streaming mode - tik tok etc... the focusrite auto switches on when the GO LIVE is pressed. Again i think its due to requiring an active signal. So i sound test via recording video to camera roll using the pause feature i mentioned above, then you know your gain levels are right ready for live stream. 👍
      Tried & Tested & found i can live stream with this setup for 2.5 hours continually. Which is adequate for my needs if i wanted to record a song in any rural location off grid. 👍
      Will be downloading FL studio for Android soon & using that as my portable recording DAW.
      For live streaming i use Boss battery powered pedals, connecting the unbalanced outputs of the pedals to the unbalanced input of the Active Di box. The Output of the Di box is Balanced Line Level 👍
      I just need a battery powered reverb pedal for Guitar & Mic now, as the Audio is too Dry for my purposes in Live Streaming.
      Recording to FL studio wont be a problem as can add reverb after in effects. 👍
      I Found this set up saves phone battery by using the portable battery bank & battery powered Di box. Thus eliminating the need to use phantom power of the focusrite, whilst improving the quality, volume & signal of guitar.
      Perfect setup for location work videos. Fits in a small rucksack no bigger than a lunchbox 👍
      Just carry my guitar to anyplace now. Live stream from a mountain top, with studio sounding audio.
      ( good phone signal required for live streaming only )
      Hope that helps 👍
      Splitter lead was only £3.85 off Ebay.
      Portable pocket battery banks around £20
      Will be updating my battery bank to a 20,000 mAH type for even longer streaming , recording time. Output of battery bank is upto 3amps so plenty to run the focusrite & charge your phone at the same time until runs low. Tested at 2.5Hrs on a 10,000 mAH battery bank 👍 double that on a 20,000 mAH.

      I am now using the Saramonic Smart Rig + , it's got 2 mic inputs,but it doesn't record bass sounds very well!!I adjust my guitare do it's trebly!!
      Do you think/know if the Focusrite would give me more sound quality or this is also because I'm using my Android phone to record and that has more to do with it!!?
      Thanks!

    How about connecting it to your camera

    • @ArtemorbidMusician
      @ArtemorbidMusician  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The only way to do this would be to connect your Focusrite device just like this but go into the PC. From there you can use OBS, OBS is a streaming software, you can connect your camera on your pc or external camera with an adapter. You will then launch OBS and have both the Focusrite Audio and the Camera at the same time
