Thank you for sharing this video, we're happy to see that this setup is working for you. Scarlett interfaces are class-compliant, but we cannot guarantee that they will work with every Android device. Focusrite interfaces are tested and proven to work with Windows, Mac, and iOS devices.

I just purchased a new 2i2 4th gen Focusrite, but it keeps using my built-in mic once I open iPhone camera app and it’s not using my condenser music. Could you please help me :)

Hello there, I need to know a few things, first is how are you connected to the iPhone, are you connecting it the way I show it in this video? if you are going directly into the iPhone from the Focusrite it will not work that way@@Josianne-Music

@@ArtemorbidMusician I downloaded a couple of amp sim apps and they have a tad of latency depending on how effect heavy they are. Probably due to the fact this this is just a cheapo StraghtTalk Android phone. Still, kinda impressive. Never realized I could do this. If I ever upgrade my phone to something more powerful I could see this being a pretty reasonable portable music setup.

It works, but uses the phones battery. Tried on a Samsung S23 and the phones battery lasts about 30 minutes from a full charge. These focusrites eat battery power, probably due to the internal preamps. Hence why you need the adaptor to charge phone as you use. 👍

Found a workaround to make this a portable live streaming possibility. Something i've tried & works great.
Connected to a Samsung S23 Using a passive guitar.
Guitar connected via 9volt battery powered Di Box.
SLR out Di box to focusrite. 👍
57 Mic to focusrite via SLR.
USB from focusrite to USB A female on the Y splitter lead.
10,000 mAH rechargeable pocket battery bank to USB C female on the Y splitter lead.
USB C Male end of Y splitter lead to USB C of S23 phone.
      Earphones to focusrite.
Turned on battery powered active Di box with battery bank connected via Y splitter lead & it works flawlessly 👍 Crisp & Clear / No buzz or crackles. 👍
One thing i find is that if you are wanting to record audio then your phone / tablet has to be in video mode.. press record then pause button of the video in order to keep the focusrite on if you just want to jam without recording. Then just un-pause to record. As the focusrite needs a constant digital signal via usb in order to stay in audio signal on mode. Otherwise it times out after a few seconds. In live streaming mode - tik tok etc... the focusrite auto switches on when the GO LIVE is pressed. Again i think its due to requiring an active signal. So i sound test via recording video to camera roll using the pause feature i mentioned above, then you know your gain levels are right ready for live stream. 👍
Tried & Tested & found i can live stream with this setup for 2.5 hours continually. Which is adequate for my needs if i wanted to record a song in any rural location off grid. 👍
Will be downloading FL studio for Android soon & using that as my portable recording DAW.
For live streaming i use Boss battery powered pedals, connecting the unbalanced outputs of the pedals to the unbalanced input of the Active Di box. The Output of the Di box is Balanced Line Level 👍
I just need a battery powered reverb pedal for Guitar & Mic now, as the Audio is too Dry for my purposes in Live Streaming.
Recording to FL studio wont be a problem as can add reverb after in effects. 👍
I Found this set up saves phone battery by using the portable battery bank & battery powered Di box. Thus eliminating the need to use phantom power of the focusrite, whilst improving the quality, volume & signal of guitar.
Perfect setup for location work videos. Fits in a small rucksack no bigger than a lunchbox 👍
Just carry my guitar to anyplace now. Live stream from a mountain top, with studio sounding audio.
( good phone signal required for live streaming only )
      Hope that helps 👍
Splitter lead was only £3.85 off Ebay.
Portable pocket battery banks around £20
Will be updating my battery bank to a 20,000 mAH type for even longer streaming , recording time. Output of battery bank is upto 3amps so plenty to run the focusrite & charge your phone at the same time until runs low. Tested at 2.5Hrs on a 10,000 mAH battery bank 👍 double that on a 20,000 mAH.

Couple questions. I have a regular studio but im moving around alot rn so something like this would be great.
Is there any points of failure?
Also have you tried using it with bandlab ?
    Any latency issues?

    • @ArtemorbidMusician
      @ArtemorbidMusician  12 วันที่ผ่านมา

Hi, so far I have had no issues at all. I never used it with Bandlab but I need to try it. Sometimes depending on the power source, the unit may not work. If I connect it to a Powerbank for example, it does not power up very well. I recommend always connecting it to regular power source.

Just wish there was a way to access & change the focusrites internal settings via android. But seems you can only do this via a computer? Anyone know if its possible via Android S23? You would have thought possible now with all the new tech available. 🤔

What if you connect directly from the interface to the phone type c to type c cable

    • @ArtemorbidMusician
      @ArtemorbidMusician  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

Hi Geo, great question and I can tell you that it will not work, here's why, the unit still needs power, when you connect it directly, it is only pushing out a signal and its not able to use the phones power because the phone is only detecting it as an external device. I tried it several times before realizing that is not possible to connect this way.
