    I use the same Audio interface (Scarlett i212) - but use the free DAW (Cakewalk) which basically works very similar to Amplitude. It's been a great way to supercharge my guitar with different amps and effects. I suggest buying a good set of headphones and some nice studio monitor speakers. I'm also using the DAW to record my own music - which has been a big learning curve (but there are plenty of TH-cam resurces to help). I paid about USD$600 for the full setup and I love it.

    Scuffham S-Gear is also very fair priced and does not offer a ton of amps, but 5 really good ones. I think that is preferable over tons of amps you will not actually use. At least I am happy with S-Gear. I use the internal effects (more are coming) as well as some external free or affordable effects which I run through the free version of Cantabile as a VST-host.

    I think it's pretty dumb at this day and age that you can't just play through your PC's sound device. having to futz around with ASIO is such a pain in the ass when you've got a nice set of gaming ear cans that you can't use. you gotta unplug them and them stick them into your interface. it's frustrating that no audiophile/PC expert has integrated the two. Amplitube is awesome if I could just output it through the bloody HDMI audio device on the monitor, PC speakers or my Steelseries headset.

    • @kurtisparker
      @kurtisparker  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It doesn’t have to be. On the focusrite, as long as your gain doesn’t blink red then you are good. Then use your ear in amplitube for the gain setting there. If it starts getting crackly and poppy then your gain is too high.
      But to answer your question more exactly, they don’t need to match exactly but they’ll probably be somewhat close.

      Hmmm, maybe make sure the instrument button is pressed and lit up. Then make sure you turn the gain knob clockwise. When you play now it should hopefully turn the circle around the dial green. Otherwise you may need to reinstall the drivers on your computer. I hope this maybe helps. I always go to reddit if TH-cam doesn't solve my problem! 😂

    My guitar sounds good with an amp, but when I use an audio interface it sounds like a 10$ guitar with absolutely terrible quality. I don't know what the issue may be, the guitar and cable is good as it works with an amp, the PC is a beast and maybe just the interface isn't good (UMC22 Behringer), but reviews seemed good. Any thoughts?

    • @kurtisparker
      @kurtisparker  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sorry to reply so late! It could be the interface or it could be drivers that aren't updated totally. You can try to search for the asio4all drivers that are free. Hopefully that might do it. Otherwise you might just need to tweak your gain/volume to make sure the signal isn't clipping.

      A long chain, if you think about the signal way. I think you connect the THR via USB to your PC, right? That driver might perhaps be the problem. When I got me a DAW, I bought an audio interface too, because trying to record with my Marshall Code didn't work too. Marshall don't deliver an ASIO driver and ASIO4ALL didn't work with my DAW. Perhaps with your Yamaha it's similar? To monitor the DAW effect and amp modeling, I would try to use the focusrite too. If you don't have Studio Monitors, connect head phones directly to the interface. That should work better

    the sound that comes out of my monitors before recording is not the same sound that plays through my headphones or the sound I hear when it is recorded and played through the monitors or headphones. In fact, the monitors pre-recording kills my guitars tone, making telecaster pickups lose their twang and p90 pickups lose their growl. Weirdly enough, If I crank up the monitors, the tone finally shows up, but this is not the case when I play a guitar recording where I can hear the tone of my instrument at low volumes. I have the Focusrite claret. I'm sick of menu diving, so I think I'm gonna get an amp. Disclaimer, I have not watched the video; I've been using recording equipment for years.

    I didn't ask if I SHOULD do it. God forbid anyone experiment or sate their curiosity.
    "Just buy this, just configure like this - here's this youtube video that everyone follows blindly where somebody spells everything out for you"(no offense intended).
