I had a bilateral Ischemic stroke of the brain stem while in dietary ketosis 3 May 24. I fasted for the next 3 days. Iwent back to Carnivore diet on fourth day. My recovery was rapid. I spent a week in hospital. By one week in Rehab, still on Carnivore, I was walking several miles per day. I leftt Rehab on tenth day. I continued with Physical therapy until the present day. I am bicycle riding and walking daily.

This makes me soo happy to hear this - bcs I am danish myself, and my story is soo close to hers it is scary! I have not yet been diagnosed with biloar ... (I been on a waiting list for almost 1 year now to see a psyciatrist here in Denmark about bipolar) But I been researching intensely myself, as I am so do not want to just have medicin - as I had a severe depression years back, and from that the medicin just drained my life force, and made me gain so much weight, that I still struggle with. This coming week I am starting up on KETO, and I am so excited about it

1 year waiting list for a doctor. Omg, that's crazy. I will never complain about healthcare system in my country

Good luck!! There's still a lot of resistance towards metabolic therapy in Denmark, but the more of us who speak out about it, the better it'll become.

I was interested when she started to talk about the challenges of tapering her antipsychotic. That is an important part of the story because a rapid taper could send the patients into an episode thanks for the interview

Thank you for providing Facebook information I will look you up. Women over 65 years old are having problems with the SSRI's because they cause QT prolongation (heart rhythm problems (Men are protected by testosterone so they are not as vulnerable). Most doctors are not familiar with Keto diet so self-help with input from others is going to have to be the way to go. I started Keto again after being off for a while hoping it will help with anxiety and depression. I took Lexapro for over 20 years and it worked well until I was hospitalized with QT prolongation. Doctors are prescribing epilepsy medications and antipsychotics and the side effects are brutal. Thank you very much for this presentation.

About a century ago, a Doctor noticed an epyleptic with a ketoacidosis disorder ....the Patient had less epyleptic fits when they were ketotic .The Doctor's curiosity about this, led to the discovery of how ketones vitalise 160 trillion cells and improve myriad health conditions .(notwithstanding the dangerousness of ketoacidosis disorder).

I turned to carnivore after sustaining a TBI and subsequent PTSD. Thankful for the research links. Wishing Maria well in her research efforts-looking forward to updates.
