Y'Know funnily enough I got caught out by the fuel cut off switch on mine recently during all the work I'd been doing. You know me and how my car has barely been in one piece, but I was adjusting the doors, did the job, put it back "together" and same thing... almost. Cranked, started, died, no fuel. I started thinking maybe I'd messed with the anti-theft or something, so got my scanner out and scanned, that was fine, checked a few other bits before remembering that in mine, a "crank-start-die" is almost always fuel pump related and I remembered I had removed the bracket with the fuel cutoff switch on it. So I went to it thinking I must have tripped it as it wasn't bolted upright for a while.... then I found it had become unplugged. In the words of South Main Auto: "Well there's your problem lady!"
Had the same issue come up, removed the lower cover, tried to drive away, car turned off and didn't start again. Luckily it was at home and on a Saturday evening, so I found out about that damned switch before spending any money. Good video! I'm also looking to get rid of the squeaky shift knob. If only the clutch pedal would stop squeaking as well!
@@cgten According to the videos on here it seems to be the return spring rubbing against the bracket in the pedal assembly. I think it's even worse to get to on a LHD car as the fuse box is right in front of it. Might be best to get a used pedal assembly and try to fix it outside the car, new bushings might solve it.
Thanks! Yeah anti-clockwise. If it's never come off before then it'll take some effort. I recommend trying to break it loose first, before investing time and money in a replacement 👍
“Great injury” 💀😭
Informative vid, thank you!

They tried to put a Volvo space ball on the European civics?
Lovely stuff 👌
Did you nickel your own shift knob or you bought one? I want exactly the same look on mine
It's an OEM knob that I polished to a shine using some sandpaper, Brasso and a drill. I showed how I did it in the first part of the video.
Great video 👍 quick question, yr old shift knob, do u just turn it anti-clockwise to take it off?thinking of replacing mine
