you should only lube the sides to reduce friction, spring to reduce the noise and not the full part of stem as you did. That's why it doesn't click anymore
Jaw-dropping, Herculean labour-like G80-3000 overhaul made look easy🤩 I have this LSCEU-0 made in 🇨🇿 too (even with the older Vista-style Win key), mint condition cos I preferred my other one with MX clears - that’s in need of repair (broken stabilizers) and unlike MX blue variant discontinued😅 I plan it for a long time, but never knew where to begin until now… and to tweak it with usb-c 😍 Many many thanks👍👍👍
If you don't have an ultra sonic cleaner, just throw the caps into a box with a dental cleaning tab shake it a bit and let it sit for an hour or so. Also, you can simply throw the case in the dishwasher after removing the board, saves some scrubbing .
This same keyboard is used by the company I work for an a Medical Device. Because it is a medical device, we have to use the same parts or have any new ones re-certified by the FDA. We sell these brand new for $60.00 and that is with a huge (several hundred percent) markup in price from what we buy them for.
0:48 - 0:51 if you look closely, you can see that, when him take the second keypad, one insect (probably a spider) have been yeeted to the other side of the keyboard and then proceed to run for his life. I don't know why but I think his name is Robin. Edit: look to the far bottom right of the keyboard/table to be able to see it.
Excellent work. It looks even brighter than a new one! Anyway, I own the same model and it is certainly not worth its selling price, but not even the time needed to restore it...
were can I get this tool to open the switches (at 6:33) ? DIY-3D-printing is also possible? Can i Somehow clean the switches without having to dissasamble them? (keys of cherryG84-4100 are complicated to open) (maybe with lubrication-PTFE-spray? Or can i Just put the swtitches into water without opening them? I spilled some cola and nuw my keys are sticky
If you search switch opener, it should come up. And if there is a file for the 3D printing, yes I think you can. There’s not much safe ways to clean switches without opening them, I would recommend disassembling the switch. But there is this method: get few qtips and get some alcohol such as isopropyl alcohol, then dip the q tip in the alcohol, then pressing does the switch, and wipe the inside. And no, you shouldn’t put switches in water, it will damage the leaf (the item that detects if you pressed it) and the pins, etc. if you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
@@GTRECON THX 4 Answer. i decided to disassemble just the sticky switches and clean the plastic parts with water and soap. now the keyboard is almost like new. But the ML-Switches on the cherryG84-4100are very difficult to open and its very easy to break the plastic while opening them!
Ну как по мне чтоб реставрировать обычную компьютерную клавиатуру так она этого не стоит . Уже лучше купить новую . Клавиатуры много не стоят чтоб так утруждаться .

Outstanding work! Lot of patience to desolder and disassembly each key. Final result is brutal!

@@jzrgrmm to be fair, I watched this video in a 5.0' inch 720x1280p display in 720p quality. I don't even know how I catch that fly passing by.

you do great job on the restoration. But modernizing it with type C really ruin the fun for me 🤣🤣
看着很舒服,老键盘声音是这样的吗,有点不习惯
“Some switches don’t sound good.”
They’re MX Blues, none of them sound good. :D
Great video by the way.
😂 Red fan here
Yeah would've personally replaced the switches and made it thock.
God bless you man, there is no way in hell I would have touched that with my bare hands.
I cant believe you lubed MX Blues... they are supposed to click :(
And they sounds hhhhiiiiideous.
Bag lubing the springs with Krytox 105 would also help to reduce spring ping
very good solder sucker technique
Lots of hard work, great result though!
I love this Keyboard

Send me a link to where I can buy this clicky beauty for my Acer
Great job man. What's you name ?

这个轴估计坚持不了多久把
Sensacional.
Good job 👍
What type of grease do you use at 8:27? It seems to be silicon grease, but all those I have seen are transparent and much more dense.
probably krytox G205
👍👍👍
what product, substance is used for lubrication an 8:27?

Can I know the name of the keyboard
You gotta love taking shit apart to do this waaaaaaaayyyy too many pets. I would have bought new switches for sure!
Will you repair my keyboard please
Whats that space bar switch type
Cherry MX Green, Heavier version of MX Blue. 80g bottom out
only if you have condemned you to death doing this
OMG that's insane. It must've taken you ages. When did you start shooting this video, 1995?!
👏🏻👏🏻🇹🇷
Why use thar red tool easier to just use a finger to remove key s
Renew the keyboard, also De-click the switch, come on bro...
"it feels more like cherry mx brown". That's not a good thing man
I guess he prefers brown, but didn't wanna spend more than he had to. Me, I'd have just put in some Gateron Ink Black if I wanted quiet.
I have 2 such keyboards. I don't know what to do. Where did you buy it? Where is the best place to sell? I'm from Ukraine
why'd you mix the housings though...
everyone knows you don't mix housings with older cherry switches
Have you actually watched the video? He reused all of the original parts. The only new component is the single keycap that was missing.

lubing clicky switches is NOT the best idea...
Only a problem if you want them to remain clicky :-) With the right lube, they will become a kind of tactile switch.
he so poor 😂 this keyboard is so cheap hahahha
