Making Britishville a gated community prevents a lot of people from getting to the university and train station, so either un-gate it or make a separate road for happier citizens.
I just got a job in engitwopia but for some minutes my toilet just didn’t work. And I am not getting oil because there is just so many people that Is trying to get to their home, and their home is right next to my job. And now It is so much traffic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND RCE JUST GOT BROKE!!!!! :(
Oh, we noticed, we just expect things like that from engineers. I mean, they have to go through 12 years of school then 4 years of uni just to learn what a triangle is. Most people figure that out before preschool.
Hey RCE. One way to reduce the amount of "High Rent" buildings is to make them smaller, since the amount of rent they need to pay is connected to the land area they inhabit. so if you paint areas smaller than the max size of the building type, such as 2x2 or 2x3 for low density fx. that should give you fewer houses complaining about it. Love this series to bits btw :D
Btw When using underground pipes. You can run the pipes in a sort of a zig-zag pattern to get through extremely steep areas Just build the pipes left right left right until you make it from the top to the bottom of a hill or vise versa I hope you guys can like this so RCE can see it
Poogasus Dam. The names he comes up with. I wonder if that dam will show up as merch one day. Showing an extreme low angle shot of the dam in a retro 50s or 60s art style.
This is an impressive bit of engineering, but did you know that in Dwarf Fortress you can engineer so much more? I mean, you can basically turn bridges into WMDs there. Come on, RCE. It's Dwarfcember!
Since he has a nice British gated community, he should also make a townhouse, row house, and council house English community and call it Scunthorpborough.
Day 110 of asking Matt to add the Second Narrows Bridge, Ironworkers Memorial to the Wheel of Bridgetune It is a cantilevered truss bridge, carrying 6 lanes of traffic from Vancouver to North Vancouver in B.C. across the second narrowing of the Burrard Inlet. It's name comes from the fact that it collapsed twice during construction, which unalived 23 people in total (Hence the name, ironworkers memorial).
You're too late perry the platypus! Soon my damn will be filled to bursting, then when it can no longer conatian itself it will erupt and flood the entire tri-state area!
I wonder if you will make electricity with the dam too? That would be fun. And you should probably treat the water after the fact :D or while its filling up... so that you get clean water coming out :D Good series, good channel, good Matt, Good arc.... Engineering!
Your channel has inspired me to create my own. I'm gonna buy the game. Play it for the first time. Knowing nothing. With no knowledge on how infrastructure works or any of the game mechanics. And call it Real Architect
Day 5 of waiting for Matt to upload Mindustry Part 3. FFOTD: The 3 main cores of the game (not including Erekir or mods) are Shard, Foundation, and Nucleus. Shard has a health of 1100 and holds 4000 items, and has a maximum of 8 possible uints, it also needs a 3 by 3 area, however you don't need to build it since its the main one. Foundation is the 2nd core, it requires 3000 copper, 3000 lead, and 2000 silicon to build, it has 3500 hp and holds 9000 items, and has a maximum of 16 units, it needs a 4 by 4 area. The 3rd and best core is Nucleus, it needs 8000 copper, 8000 lead, 4000 thorium, and 5000 silicon to build, it has 6000 hp, holds 13000 items, and 24 maximum units, and it needs a 5 by 5 area.
"I've made them all cul-de-sacs, so unless they live there there's no reason for people to go there anyway" Am I the only person who sees cul-de-sacs as a hassle-free way to make a u-turn without having to worry about on-coming traffic, etc.? I guess that's another difference round-abouts make. In the US, if I miss a turn and there's a roughly residential area, I'll often turn into it because I know it'll have a cul-de-sac or a be basically a giant circle. Way less hassle, even with slower speeds, than dealing with oncoming traffic.
When I played I noticed that you can get rid of the high rent notification if you satisfy the area more. With more parks, more hospitals, school, etc. And lower the taxes a bit. Because then they are like ... maybe happy enough to pay? xD
Hi Matt, game hack - you can get fat cash by building a nuclear power plant, recycling center and water pumping station, then connect them to the outside world and you'll start to receive a lot of money from nothing.
Surely I’m not the only one bothered by that high demand for low density housing that Matt’s ignoring… am I? No wonder the architects poo view houses have high rent.

4:00 "It's the train centipede"
Glad to know I'm not the only one who misspeaks trains and planes sometimes. If even the engineers do it...
I was hoping no one would spot that 🤣

I knew this would be coming eventually, the day of the poocanoe has arrived
It's Waterloo recreation, but the engineer took the "loo" part too literally.
Poo canoe, hope you have a paddle.
Clearly, you haven't heard about Martincitopants.

Architect island does look like a great place for architects, it's just missing some nice footpaths through the landfills so they can enjoy it.
Architect island is something an architect would make 🤣
It's like a 1:1 recreation of Portland

(jeez that was a hard catch)
Build a metro station for the poocano and call it Waterloo.
Way to insult London!😂
I think you should build like a closed district for factory workers where people CANNOT leave and the only job they can work at is the oil stuff
So, basically Xinjiang?
Yeah, or Pripyat but in Pripyat they could leave@@UltimatePerfection

Got you! That's a very strong plot of land
I love the Engtwopia series, keep up the great content!
now we're all waiting for engithreepia
What if real civil engineer is actually an architect, and he masks it by showing great disdain for architects in his videos?
"Trains don't like going up or down hills"

Hey, did you know that if you give an airport the cargo terminal upgrade then it automatically adds a train station to the airport directly
yeah, that is true
yep it works I tried it
The "high rent" thing is a supply issue rather than a density issue. The greater the supply of housing the lower the rent will be. So build more.

Considering that one community houses about 30% of the town I'm pretty sure the guest gate code is just common knowledge.

It’s a shit job. Very draining.
Poo flows downhill. Pumping it up to the top of the dam would spend more energy than you'd recover from spinning the dam turbines.
