I hate that you need to open the client to update instead of using the background Steam updater like every other game. I don't play it all too often and it feels like every time I start it up I have to download 25 gigs
An underrated change in MSFS 2024 is removing green tint from a lot of areas, and improving the haze/atmosphere look. At least it looked improved to me in the trailer. Also improved physics.
The amount of love that the flight sim community has been getting over the last 5 years is staggering. New MSFS and X-plane releases, RFS and infinite flight for ios (infinite flight having one of the best multiplayer communities in the history of flight simulation). Things were *not* this good ten years ago…

The horizon line has already been seen in 2024 videos so don't hold your breath on that one. But honestly that is more annoying than anything. I want to simply see better world updates such as actually cleaning trees out of cities

This update really screwed up my fps. I had everything on ultra settings running 50 to 65 fps on the ground and now running 26 to 39. I dropped the settings down to medium and barely getting 45. 5950x, 6950xt, with 64 gigs running at 3800mhz. The most definitely goofed something up.
One of the biggest issues for Hardware users is the user having to reselect FS2020 to 'Focused' before being able to move any joysticks or yokes after, for example, using a touch screen hardware such as GTN750 or similar.
They need to fix the terrain mesh to remove the massive 'gashes' that are seen in some areas and also make the auto road overlays optional. I have a custom airfield with dirt track overlays across everything ... some of which aren't even there in real life, so not too sure which map data they are lifting them from!
I've been waiting so long for multiplayer cockpits and disappointing it's still so far out. I just want to be able to fly with my boy in the right seat running the radio with Vatsim while I'm PiC.
There is an app called “your controls”. Right now, it’s the best we got. I did the “cross the pond” event back in April with my buddy sharing a Kuro 788 cockpit. Was a great time!
You can if you play together with a 43 inch screen monitor and a alpha and bravo throttle controls and additional gps and radio units. The copilot can take care of the radio and autopilot settings when one is flying the plane. A dial VR cockpit is not for tomorrow as pc have already difficulties to display for one person. Maybe in 10 years.
I wish theyd fix snow permanently appearing on ground with live weather active in areas when it’s 60F degrees outside. Drives me nuts. Been a known issue for over 2 years. Feels like flying in a black and white movie.
what an odd bug, do you mean exactly 60 or below 60? I fly in places below 60 (Central Oregon) all the time and don't have that bug but maybe I haven't flown there when it's "exactly" 60?

Why are you so negative? They've given us a ton of free content, introduced new features, broken a few and fixed most if not all of them. We finally got a new generation flight sim and it's only been getting better if you overlook a couple of f*ckups here and there. And they're working on MSFS 2024 too which will be revolutionary, at least in terms of the scenery.
Feel pretty let down by Adobe and Microsoft as I've ploughed a lot of money into MSFS because it was supposed to be supported for 10 years. I now know this is definitely not going to happen. If they can at least fix AI traffic, it won't be a total loss...
So what you're really stating is that there will be no real further mods to FS 2020 but we've got to wait to upgrade to FS2024 for any substantial improvements!
Tell me what franchise in the last 10 years hasn't released new versions with new features? The amount of FREE updates this has had since Aug release is unparalleled with any other software on the market. I want this hobby to grow, expand and improve. If that means dropping cash on a new version then so be it.
My biggest issue with MSFS is that now, 3 years after release, there's still quite a few airports missing. I know a few of them because bing maps sucks in those areas. It's annoying that they won't fix it and to be honest I won't spend any money on a new game until they do. Big deal breaker for me.
From a development standpoint it does make a certain amount of sense to shift the shared cockpit multiplayer features to the next release if the game wasn't designed to integrate them from the start. I imagine it could require rewriting quite a few fundamental systems.
A bug that I've been having is with payware aircraft, will sometimes swap sound models and flying physics with other random payware aircraft. Mostly Carenado stuff. And sometimes crash physics stop working randomly too...
I'm just glad I haven't noticed that atmospheric line going through mountains and stuff. The team has been great at providing updates for the game and it wouldn't make sense for them to just keep adding more content to the game for free, so I sort of understand the move to MSFS2024. However, I will be frustrated if they try to charge us 70 - 120€ again for just an updated version of the game. I just hope 2024 is a way more stable version of the game, and in that case it might be worth it for me to get right away when it releases - otherwise I'll be waiting for a sale especially if it's as expensive as I'm worrying.
I've had a couple of "crashes" so to speak recently. One was on a takeoff with the A320 Flybywire. Upon a normal rotation I got an aircraft overstress crash. Nothing out of the normal on takeoff. Another was on a 400 mile flight in the DA62. I was flying at 6500 feet over hundreds of feet terrain and about an hour into the flight it just crashed with a "You ran into an object." But overall, my flights are pretty stable including some 13 hour around the world flights in the 787 Dreamliner.
I think it’s verrrry lame they aren’t delivering on their promised content. Makes me and others I’m sure question if we can trust the devs enough to purchase 2024.
re Reno Air Races - that was Asobo warming over the code from FSX Acceleration. Hopefully that stays the hack it is rather than get re-introduced as Asobo's genius solution for multiplayer...
Kind of lame that shared cockpit isn't coming to 2020. I bought my dad a copy of 2020, and it would be really fun to be able to fly together remotely. Kinda not happy that I'll have to buy him (and me) 2024 just to do that. :(

Update broke my sim , having to redownload the whole damn sim all over again if it works. I hope they fix this issue because I'm sick of msfs getting stuck in a loop on updates. Now I'll be re-downloading everything for the next 2 days.

When I got fiber optic a couple years ago, I was disappointed to see that photogrammetry mode was not based on photogrammetry at all. That's actually been my biggest disappointment with MSFS. @@JohnMichaelson
They need to make it where the weather changes over time rather than it being a repeated cloud pattern and they need to improve the lightning. It looks bad it just fading from a white screen
When I click on the yoke or anything else with the mouse it goes from blue to yellow, but the yoke won't disappear nor with the throttle or mixture be pushed in or out. any help would be great
I've lost all hope due to these last few days. Asobo is *clearly* putting the cart before the horse. - The delayed Local Legend. Why not secure the license before having even started on it? - The download/install issue today for SU13. It's not a matter of server load this time, something definitely went wrong with the base code. - Lastly, users are reporting massive stutters and frame rate drops *if* they manage to get past the install issues. We had, what, and ongoing beta since late July PLUS SU13 was delayed a week, and this is what we get? It's honestly pathetic at this point.
It's one thing to not add new UNPROMISED content to MSFS 2020, like the missions. But to not add seasons, which was clearly listed as an upcoming feature, to me that's false advertising / bait-n-switch. It really does anger me, because I bought MSFS based on certain presuppositions, and seasons (which is a fundamental aspect of any decent flight simulator) was a key one, living in a state that has four very distinct seasons. And no, I'm not buying MS2024 to have seasons. If anything, I think I'll stay away from this product, as I've lost all trust in the developer. First Frontier, now Asobo. No more buying unfinished games based on promises that the developers are unable / unwilling to keep. (Disclaimer - flight sims are low on my "favorite genre" list)
I am experiencing a problem with my Tobii 5 eyetracker where it stops working after changing windows either via Alt-tab or Windows key. The only fix I've found is to completely restart the game. Is anyone else facing this, as dealing with this is breaking the immersion for me?
Flight Simulators are so amazing but one thing that isn't right is the Tree lines in the northern and Southern Latitudes. I know little about the correct Latitudes of the Tree lines in the Southern Hemisphere but I have been all over the Canadian Arctic above and just below the Tree lines and in the Simulators there are Trees hundreds of miles or Kilometres above the actual Tree lines in the real world. Can this be corrected in the newest Flight Simulator or even X-Plane 12?
If you have X-plane, you might want to try Global Forests. I know they have demo areas for version 11 (Alaska) and 12 (Eastern Europe) which should include enough northern latitude to see whether the tree line is accurate.

i still find it sick that people that have bought the current msfs 2020 premium wont get the things that where for 2020 and now go to 2024 really hope they will give people that at least have bought the msfs2020 premium a big discount on the new msfs .ps after seeing this that they wont fix that line.... im NEVER going to buy the 2024 EVER!!! ill get it somewhere else, and it seems that MSFS2020 was just a beta for MSFS 2024 as so many things are going to 2024 its just insane.
I really feel 2020 was a beta. And how crappy the updates were (are?). I was sticking through it because I was thinking this'd be it for 10 years. Then they shot that idea in the head and now I'm rather heartbroken about it.
They fixed the horizon line in Sim Update 13, so enjoy that it is gone. SU13 improved my sim on Series X by a decent amount, I am not complaining about that! Now features we were promised that will not come to MSFS 2020, irritates the hell out of me, especially because I bought the $120 or $140 Premium Deluxe version! We better get discounts on 2024!

Although its been known for a while it was looking unlikely, the development updates gave hope thet were at least looking into 3rd party wx issues . Seems totally dead now , one wonders as its reportrdly a licensing issue if itll stay off the cards for msfs 2024 .
WYSIWYG is the modern software model! What you see is what you get, file all the bug reports you want it makes NO difference what so ever !! All the bugs that do get fixed you didn't even know existed.....carry on consumer
Haven't turn my mfs2020 for over 5 months...the updates were killing my PC and not being able to fly in VR is a very big stopping point, now with all this news coming they have lost a flyer from their system. Will go back to dcs...shame loved the sim and spent a lot of money on aircraft and sceneries...Good bye blue sky..lol.😢
Currently, seems like their biggest priority should be making an updater that actually works.

They also removed iconic airports like EGMH Manston Kent, but added demolished ones like Kai Tak.

Finally updating and working fine, albeit at a little slow download times. All looks very good so far.
I am miffed enough about 2020 being abandoned, that i won't buy 2024 for at least a year or two after release. Plenty of other games to try out

They need to make it where the weather changes over time rather than it being a repeated cloud pattern and they need to improve the lightning. It looks bad it just fading from a white screen

When I click on the yoke or anything else with the mouse it goes from blue to yellow, but the yoke won't disappear nor with the throttle or mixture be pushed in or out. any help would be great

I've lost all hope due to these last few days. Asobo is *clearly* putting the cart before the horse.
- The delayed Local Legend. Why not secure the license before having even started on it?
- The download/install issue today for SU13. It's not a matter of server load this time, something definitely went wrong with the base code.
- Lastly, users are reporting massive stutters and frame rate drops *if* they manage to get past the install issues. We had, what, and ongoing beta since late July PLUS SU13 was delayed a week, and this is what we get?

It's one thing to not add new UNPROMISED content to MSFS 2020, like the missions. But to not add seasons, which was clearly listed as an upcoming feature, to me that's false advertising / bait-n-switch. It really does anger me, because I bought MSFS based on certain presuppositions, and seasons (which is a fundamental aspect of any decent flight simulator) was a key one, living in a state that has four very distinct seasons. And no, I'm not buying MS2024 to have seasons. If anything, I think I'll stay away from this product, as I've lost all trust in the developer. First Frontier, now Asobo. No more buying unfinished games based on promises that the developers are unable / unwilling to keep. (Disclaimer - flight sims are low on my "favorite genre" list)

I am experiencing a problem with my Tobii 5 eyetracker where it stops working after changing windows either via Alt-tab or Windows key. The only fix I've found is to completely restart the game.
Is anyone else facing this, as dealing with this is breaking the immersion for me?

Flight Simulators are so amazing but one thing that isn't right is the Tree lines in the northern and Southern Latitudes. I know little about the correct Latitudes of the Tree lines in the Southern Hemisphere but I have been all over the Canadian Arctic above and just below the Tree lines and in the Simulators there are Trees hundreds of miles or Kilometres above the actual Tree lines in the real world. Can this be corrected in the newest Flight Simulator or even X-Plane 12?
If you have X-plane, you might want to try Global Forests. I know they have demo areas for version 11 (Alaska) and 12 (Eastern Europe) which should include enough northern latitude to see whether the tree line is accurate.
@@Tsudico I have X-Plane 11 and 12 but don't have the newest Flight Simulator 2020. I have had all versions of Flight Simulator since its introduction many years ago. I will try Global Forests and see how it looks. Thank you for your reply to my post

i still find it sick that people that have bought the current msfs 2020 premium wont get the things that where for 2020 and now go to 2024 really hope they will give people that at least have bought the msfs2020 premium a big discount on the new msfs .ps after seeing this that they wont fix that line.... im NEVER going to buy the 2024 EVER!!! ill get it somewhere else, and it seems that MSFS2020 was just a beta for MSFS 2024 as so many things are going to 2024 its just insane.
I really feel 2020 was a beta. And how crappy the updates were (are?). I was sticking through it because I was thinking this'd be it for 10 years. Then they shot that idea in the head and now I'm rather heartbroken about it.
They fixed the horizon line in Sim Update 13, so enjoy that it is gone. SU13 improved my sim on Series X by a decent amount, I am not complaining about that! Now features we were promised that will not come to MSFS 2020, irritates the hell out of me, especially because I bought the $120 or $140 Premium Deluxe version! We better get discounts on 2024!

The amount of tweaking you have to do to even get this game to run close to right is ridiculous and never REALLY runs right no matter what you do
Although its been known for a while it was looking unlikely, the development updates gave hope thet were at least looking into 3rd party wx issues . Seems totally dead now , one wonders as its reportrdly a licensing issue if itll stay off the cards for msfs 2024 .

Haven't turn my mfs2020 for over 5 months...the updates were killing my PC and not being able to fly in VR is a very big stopping point, now with all this news coming they have lost a flyer from their system. Will go back to dcs...shame loved the sim and spent a lot of money on aircraft and sceneries...Good bye blue sky..lol.😢
