David Stanley jeep in Oklahoma has 2024 Jeep Gladiator sports market for $27500. So I call them Saturday and ask "what's the price put the door." After 3 hours of waiting for them to get back to me. OK well then you miss out on 9k in discounts so it's about 36500 out the door for you. I ended up calling the Oklahoma BBB and filing a complaint. Such a very dishonest business practice.

@garyjohn2802 It is extremely dishonest to advertise a price with incentives in that price that less than 1.5% of the population qualify for. And now they wonder why it's their very own 2 hole getting penetrated. Eff'em

Yep everytime I have been stranded for mechanical issues on the side of the road was a Chrysler or dodge or even a Plymouth they have been junk since the 70s
Finally, someone pointing out the V6 twin turbo blunder/debacle in a pickup truck. Toyota really messed up the Tundra/Taco name with overly complicated mechanicals. I'll keep my V8, which gets just as good gas mileage
Had a Jeep dealership try to sell me a brand new 4xe for $900/mo, when I told him that price was insane he suggested I find something “within my budget” 😂 I love Wranglers but they’re in NO way a $900/mo car
Also. The 4Runner is missing because Toyota doesn’t want to release it until they fix the transmissions issues in the Tacoma. It’s the same engine and transmission so they delayed it because they know if they lose another iconic name like the Tundra (for engine issues) and Tacoma (for transmission issues), they’ll lose out to Nissan who is still running a reliable NA V-6
I consulted for Stellantis in 2023 trying to help them modernize their network/infrastructure. The amount of mismanagement in that company was astounding. Blew my mind and does not surprise me to see news like this.
I'm glad you mention Toyota/Honda... while they have a truck problem, it is offset by the ridiculous demand for their other class leading products like the Rav4 or CRV, so at least something is selling. CDJR also has a truck problem, but can't offset it with their other products since those are often not even in the conversation. When I was looking for a daily driver compact SUV, it was a 3 horse race between the Rav4, CRV, and CX50. At no time was an american brand even in the conversation.

All the Vehicles on the Market are over priced by 50%…….My Dad retired from ford and he found out his last year’s work for Ford that the cost of making a car or truck or van is approximately 25% of the sticker so just remember that when your vehicle shopping.

I can understand having a $120,000 grand wagoneer on the lot as a demo. If people can try out all the extras, they MAY pay more on the actual unit they buy. However, if they're expecting to sell that vehicle, it's NEVER going to sell. That's the one the owner of the dealership drives.
Exactly. You have ONE Shelby, or ONE Z06, or ONE TRD Pro on the lot to get people to look at it. If it sells, great, if not, use the expensive vehicle to get people into the cheaper models.

This is what usually happens when corporations get greedy thinking that people wouldn't notice their prices are out of touch from the reality of everyday people who is gonna buy their products yet screws their potential customers anyways and insults them as well thinking these potential customers are stupid hence why most of these dealers are finally going out of business and serves them right for being greedy and no one's buying their products for being so overpriced! Given my limited sampling of just looking around me in traffic, I've yet to see an owner of a newer Jeep who wasn't a boomer, usually a pretty old one. That demographic is rapidly exiting its spending years, and there just aren't enough 20-somethings coming along buying Jeeps to make up for that loss. Jeep has to figure out a new way forward that doesn't rely on WW2 nostalgia.
Discontinued low cost Cherokee and Renegade, thinking they could force Jeep buyers to buy much more expensive vehicles. Wrong. My wife lives her 6 speed Renegade and is sad we won't be back to a Jeep dealership for her next car.
I remember walking into a Chrysler group showroom back in 2003, there were so many options. Whether you wanted something big, small, fancy, basic, fast, slow, rugged, urban...they had something for everyone. Now they have...crossovers, SUVs, full-size trucks, Wranglers and one minivan. Almost all aiming for luxury...which was a pretty small chunk of their customer base IMO. So I agree 100%, they gave their core buyers the middle finger in quest for profit margins, and it's biting them in the ass big time.

a few weeks ago I stopped at the jeep / ram dealer to look at wranglers. I test drove a left over (new) 2023. Liked the vehicle however the dealer would not come off of MSRP and full piece for all the dealer add on items. I walked away. I have bought a handful of new rams in my lifetime, Ram has priced me out of their trucks. I'm looking at possibly getting a Mazda 3 for my next vehicle. I wont consider anything with a CVT. Mazda still makes their cars with a Manual transmission and traditional automatic transmissions.

I get a phone call are you military? Are you a teacher? Are you a firefighter of police officer? I say "NO" to everything. OK well then you miss out on 9k in discounts so it's about 36500 out the door for you.
I ended up calling the Oklahoma BBB and filing a complaint. Such a very dishonest business practice.
Uhhh no. Incentives for those specific reasons are incentives for those reasons. Don't be upset because you don't fit any. Just take your business elsewhere. Your BBB complaint will amount to nothing and means nothing other than a waste of your time filing it and a waste of your time writing this. But it probably makes you feel better. THINK.
@garyjohn2802 It is extremely dishonest to advertise a price with incentives in that price that less than 1.5% of the population qualify for. Also, to not say any place in the price that it was with incentives. It's a buyers' market. If deals are going to play games, it's always easy to find other ones.

I heard a rumor that Caterpillar, yes the company that makes construction machines, might have interest in buying the Ram brand.
3 pronged pitchfork here.
1--CDJR--American car manufacturers, bought by an overseas company.
2--Dealerships stuck it in the 2 hole of consumers during the pandemic, by charging outrageous fees and mark-ups.
3--Manufacturers saw the money grab by the dealerships, and said "we want in on that".
And now they wonder why it's their very own 2 hole getting penetrated.

Truck prices are absolutely ridiculous! I just hit 300k and won’t even dare look at a new truck.
4Runner will be fine as long as they’re still made in Japan

Given my limited sampling of just looking around me in traffic, I've yet to see an owner of a newer Jeep who wasn't a boomer, usually a pretty old one. That demographic is rapidly exiting its spending years, and there just aren't enough 20-somethings coming along buying Jeeps to make up for that loss. Jeep has to figure out a new way forward that doesn't rely on WW2 nostalgia.
That same Rav 4 in Australia is when converted $33581.10 USA
