CDJR dealer tech here. The corrosion issue is so minor in the grand scheme of things. About 80% of my workload these days are brand new under 2 year old vehicles with less than 15k miles. So many issues, especially with the 4XEs. A lot of it is software but when you get 6 grand Cherokees a week complaining about radio software issues what are we supposed to do? "Sorry, it's buggy. There will be an update to fix it eventually!". It's just complete nonsense how poor our quality control has gotten. The decisions they're making model wise is frankly insane. They're just sticking their head in the sand and pretending everything is fine. We're going to make multiple full EVs when our hybrids are the most unreliable in the industry? Don't even get me started about replacing the simple hemi with an overly complex twin turbo. That shit is going to be a nightmare in a few years.
@@DIRTROADCREDwe had a 2022 jeep compass trailhawk for 6 months, the volume on the head unit would go out after a out 10 minutes. They finally updated the software after about a month, it worked finally but there was no sound until like 15 on the volume knob lol. The little bity engine couldn't hardly do anything. We traded it in for my wife sport s wrangler in Tuscadero we love it.
I can honestly say that my GF and I both own Jeep Wranglers. Hers is a 2020 Rubicon Recon addition with the mild hybrid 2.0 turbo. Mine 2021 Willy's JLU which I ordered specifically. I will say I haven't had any major issue with my Jeep and the GF's has been a very solid as well. I will say that I definitely like the Mild Hybrid engine setup way better. I will add mine has been heavily upgraded and yes will out perform her jeep by a mile.
I wouldn't expect corrosion to be a major issue for dealers. In many cases-mine included-corrosion tends to become noticeable right around the time the warranty expires. At that point, most people likely turn to independent body shops rather than going back to the dealer. The powertrain issues are a concern. My wife and I have discussed what to do with our 150K '15 Rubicon. We're seriously considering a major rework for $40K in a couple years. I'd like new, I'd like the (idea of) twin turbo I6. But, would I trust it at 60,000 miles climbing steep grades around Burgess Junction, Wyoming, off in the middle of nowhere, like I have the 3.6L?
Just a tip for you. Apparently there is a OTA update for the WL and WS, but we have to contact star EVERYTIME for them to push the update, just to send the vehicle out to update with the customer (oh and make sure ibs is over 80%🙃). I about went off on the rep that called us and said this is what we have to so for this. Also, the update says nothing about freezing and crashing, so I expect 0% of the vehicles to be “fixed” by their poorly binned processors and absolutely horrid software
The head of the Board and huge share holder Elkins seems enamored with Carlos Tavares. And that infatuation is costing him a huge chunk of change with the company going down the toilet. He would have saved money getting a high priced call girl.
@@Spanked78 Stellantis isn’t going anyway. But the CEO is. Shares went from $30 to $12 in less than a year. We did so good before this merger. If anything, they will split brands again but STL has so much cash, and the market is bad. America and Europe giving tax dollars to China is a huge part of it, not to mention the EPA rules that right now are only beneficial to China.
FURK the French frog bastards.... We need a billionaire (like Elon Musk but not Musk, he's doing his own electric trucks)) to buy JEEP. LONG live the V-8 Jeep!
STL is cash poor. They promised all 14 brands...that each was funded for 10 years of innovation and change...the are running billions of dollars cash negative. They now say brand's have only two years to become cash positive...or else.
I believe that the out of control pricing is the primary issue. In Canada a loaded Rubicon has been touching on $90K and the 392's are in the $120K range.
@@ur_shulgi9133 what are you talking about? All companies are “greedy.” You should research Japanese companies if you want to see greedy giant monopolies.
I had mine painted once and then a year later they had to replace the hood and doors, and paint the back gate just before the warranty ended. Sounds like the issue still exists with the aluminum panels. Can’t imagine why they don’t go back to steel until they figure this out.
I didn’t know about the hinge issue. Glad I watched. I just don’t understand why it would be so much money to paint the backs of all of the hinges one color…black? I know they’re is still the issue of the unpainted panel under the hinge, but I’m sure that could be figured out too. Is this just on the passenger doors or is it also the hood in the rear, etc.?
@@cynicalcb Nah you still got taken to the cleaners, there is no way in hell I'd spend 51k on a jeep. Not these new ones anyway, although I understand. Good luck, and I hope it works out for you Cynical!
As a 4 month JLUR owner I am eating up all the Jeep content I can feed on. Your channel is at the top of my list for Jeep news! I got a silver Rubi but really wanted Punk'n or Gekco but they are near impossible to find on the used market with all the options I wanted.
Good overview guys...my 2018 had the bubbling around the hinges...when I was trading it in for my 2024 Willy's, they said it reduced the value...I quickly pointed out it was a manufacturing issue, not an owner issue...good video guys...
I think the major problem started in 2018 with the new JL; the prices shot up exponentially from there and the corrosion issues were laid with the aluminum panels. But I bought a 2015 Sahara off the showroom floor for 36k. and then the JL came out and suddently its like 2k to add an automatic transmission; and you couldn't buy these for less than 50k. I will never forget the exponential prices that started with the JL. I finally got tired of looking at the corrosion on my 2018 and bought a bronco wildtrak. I was done. I owned a 2004 LJ; 2015 JK; 2018 Rubicon; 2022 Bronco
10-15% of Jeep owners take their vehicles off road. If I was running the company, I would’ve released a base bottom Wrangler sport with 33 inch tires and tubular sidesteps. Call it the 1941 or something. Most people that buy Jeeps probably don’t even know what lockers, sway bars, etc are, but they’ll love the sporty look and low price.
I’ve been following you since 2019. So glad you guys circled back on these corrosion and other issues. Like you, I love my JL Rubicon even with these issues, but Jeep customers and potential buyers are voting with their feet by not buying this product. We are pissed! Thanks for not being scared to rip the band-aid off. Great ideas that you offered to turn things back to the customers, which will help the bottom line and increase sales. This was a great format to lay it out. Thx!
I am a legacy follower and have enjoyed your content since dealership days but have been concerned that you guys haven’t dealt enough with the challenges that we Jeep enthusiasts are facing. Solid content here and you nailed the primary issues. Let’s hope an ownership change or other solution rights the ship shortly. Quality control (especially corrosion, forced 4xe, and option restrictions) combined with the elevated prices are a long term killer. I just bought my 2nd (Willy’s) in 4 years and love the Jeep life but not sure I will go to the well a third time without positive change. Keep up the great work!
I own a 2023 2 door Willy's manual. And a 2024 Willy's 4 door automatic. I was not able to get a test drive for my manual, and I ordered it blind. I love both my JL models. And everything you both said was preaching to the heart of what I have been thinking. Thank you for your voice! You have more pull and sway than we do!
My big concern, why is stellantis selling vehicle testing grounds in Arizona? I mean, a European owner, to have such extreme environmental condition testing at their fingers, poof- gone. I live in the West, vehicles have to be durable, and have range, be able to handle temperature extremes from -30 below to 123 degrees. The roads are not the best. I am starting to worry a European owner is the wrong decision, they can't understand life west of the Mississippi
I love Jeeps and hope they continue to make them. With that said, I do have several issues with them and that’s why I don’t own one at the moment. Price has gone up and reliability/quality seems to be going down. There seems to be way too many low quality sensors on the newer Jeeps which are causing a lot of complaints. I’ve also had a bad experience with warranty work not getting covered. Less electronics, better quality components, and lower the price would be a good start for Jeep.
Great channel - thanks for the content you put out I’m on my 5th wrangler - 1 TJ - 2JKs - 2JLs The 2 JLs were purchased 18months apart 23-JLRubicon purchased March of 23 msrp 58k purchased for 60k OTD 24 JL Rubicon purchased October of 24 msrp 78k purchased for 60k OTD These numbers against that period of time should speak to their desire to move units I was going to buy one in 2020 but couldn’t get my mind around 75k (which included an 8k dealer lift wheels and tires package) for a wrangler with 500 bucks off msrp Jeep added way too many engine options and trims - time to slim down get back to basics - but I get why these things happen and sometimes brands do need to try to do more but sometimes it can happen faster than they can assess and find what works well - I believe that to be the case here I agree with much of what you all are saying about reclassifying the segments of wranglers into 2 buckets and bringing more colors in - at least charging for them would be smart rather than making people wait - there are people out there with money willing to pay for the color they want - And yes please just keep pressing on ventilated seats - I came close to buying a bronco just for that reason but I’m still here Jeep - put some ventilated seats on the next model
I have a 22 trouble free Gladiator but I don’t haul much anymore and considered trading for a 24 Wrangler to benefit from more interior space and the new curtain airbags. However the cost has risen so much in 2 years I feel priced out. I’m also worried about declining reliability when so many other people are complaining about problems.
I own a '23 Mojave. Reason I bought it is my '15 Ram Pentastar has 230K problem free miles. Our '16 Caravan pentastar has 190K miles. Only issue was a fairly cheap TIPM i replaced myself. Maintenance seems to be key. Yeah it's not as simple as my old XJ, ZJ or J10s. But it makes the kids smile. Glad I didn't pay anywhere near MSRP.
Just bought a 2024 gladiator rubicon x manual high velocity. Never had a jeep before, always subaru. The buying process is so different. With subaru, I tell them what I want, and they try to find it at some other dealership, or order it. And the price is the price. None of my local jeep dealerships had what I was looking for, honestly most of them didn't even know what I was talking about. None of them could really get it. None of them would even negotiate on price. Finally bought one from 1000+ miles away for 25% off MSRP, and had it shipped. That is NOT the way to get/keep customers.
I'm really glad you finally hit the nail on the head! I was getting tired of some fanatics saying, oh that's how Jeep always been. We forget it's a business and they need to attract first-time Jeep owners and be loyal in the future. Most folks who bash their Jeeps aren't buying new Jeeps, but pricing it this much for new consumers and they have to dealing with silly faults like rain drain, intermittent Uconnect faults, corrosion etc is a big NO NO!!! declining that is out of warranty - who do you expect to fix this, the second-hand owner; nope! - now they know too and staying off. And all the crazy fanatics can defend this while the company goes down the drain. Honestly, Jeep is a strong brand and can get stronger if they did their homework.
Glad I found this vid. I watch a lot of your mod vids. I noticed this weekend that my jeep dealer had a bunch of 4xe buyback vehicles on their site. Like 90% of their used wrangler inventory was buybacks. I wanted my next jeep to be a 4xe but hearing all these issues, plus the fact that they have buybacks which are well priced but hard to resale has made me rethink that. Was planning to upgrade my 2019 next year, but maybe I’ll hold off until they can figure out their qc issues. I do love my jeep. It’s not perfect, but the mods are its biggest selling features to make it one of a kind.
Thank you for talking about it. You are 100% right and this is what I have been saying to my wife. And it sad that Stellantis ruined Jeep. Need more engine options and bring back the 392 but not for $20k more.
50 year old German, living now for 20 years in Australia... all my Mercs (and one BMW) have been utter garbage... I mean blowing up V6s on my CLS320, or leaking water everywhere, not too mention RUST that went through the whole body... countless hours fighting with them to own up to this crap... My (first Jeep) 22 Gladiator Rubicon is compared to that top notch quality - no squeaks, or rattles... not even offroad... rust I haven't seen yet... but then again it ain't a Merc... I'd be ok with it... after all we do a lot of beach driving here in Australia.... Cheerio! Keep it up mate... love your channel since the beginning.... damn Jeep brought me here
Thank you for finally mentioning the 14 Eastern states that get fined if they order internal combustion engines. Most of the dealerships near me have 20-30+ 4XEs that have been sitting on the lot. And when they seek they get discounted 10-15k. Not to mention we are on the cusp of a recession, if not already in one.
Relax. It's over 10 years away and things can change. Gas vehicles aren't better for most people. EVs aren't going away any more than computers, tablets, smart phones, microwave ovens, EKGs, x-rays, MRI and CT scanners, ultrasound, radar, sonar, lidar, infrared, cordless tools or portable radios are going away. Tesla sold 1.8 million EVs in 2023. That's more EVs than Ford sold in trucks. It's like people arguing that rotary dial desk phones are better than smartphones. Dial desk phones never need charging. They're much cheaper. They're more durable. They don't break when dropped or sat on. They work during power outages. They last for decades. They never need updating. They don't get lost...or stolen. Don't get left behind, the future will be here tomorrow.
@@dvader3263 that’s because it’s forced. Remove the mandate, and stop those states from penalizing customers who order ICE…make it far playing field for a real comparison. Telsa sold more Cyber Trucks than Ford Lightning because people who actually want a truck bought the lightning or a gas powered F-150 were as Cyber Truck owners just want a Tesla.
I bought my first NEW Jeep in 1997. Wrangler SE, stripped. No radio, soft-top, 2.5L "iron-duke", for $13,455. What made the Jeep such an iconic brand wasn't leather, "technology packages" and other options that made it just like everything else on the market, but that you could buy that stripped model, beat it all weekend, and still drive to work Monday morning.
Exactly! They shouldn’t sell it before fix the situation. One of the parking says “ don’t park 4xe any model. They will towing. How ridiculous wrangler 4xe is very expensive car. Do something!!!
The salesman I spoke to just TODAY regarding a 4xe said it hasn't "moved to the stop-sale stage yet" so they would gladly sell me one today. They need to throw another $10K on the hood before I consider it though. We'll see how motivated Stellantis, and their greedy dealer network, actually is to sell out of this excessive inventory prior to year end. I'll be waiting and watching....
@@jeffdetrick wow.. it seems that they really don’t care about customers. I guess they also want to get rid of it 🤣 imagine all the 4xe blow up in dealership. However they offer 0% +14k~16k discount. But still so expensive + I want to parking my vehicle indoors! Especially shopping centers! Haha
Love your videos man I’m almost .60 and was thinking of getting a gladiator but some of these issues is starting to make me rethink this. I appreciate you bringing these issues up
I’ve been thinking of getting my first Jeep Wrangler. Went to check out a fully loaded 2024 Sahara yesterday, MSRP is 61K, after rebates brings it down to 55.5K. Hearing these issues with Jeep makes me hesitant of wanting to purchase it but it is my dream car. I currently been driving my first car for 12 years now so it’s time for an upgrade. Plus it’ll be my birthday present to myself of owning a wrangler. Should I still go for it?
This is all bittersweet to hear. Happy to hear the dealerships are struggling due to their greed but Jeep struggling in general sucks bc i don’t want this brand to go away
I have a 22 gladiator Rubicon. It has an on going issue with the front passenger brake grabbing and then releasing slowly. Dealer says there's nothing wrong with it. Went past the Dealer on Friday, nothing but blue tow hooks on the lot. But no discounts, at least on the window stickers
💯 I am a first time jeep owner, I bought a 2018 JLRU and love it. Got a 3.5" lift, and steel bumper and etc. I wasn't planning on buying a brand new vehicle, but I was head over heels after the test drive. Due to many of the issues you guys touched on I would be scared to buy a new one now. I agree with many of the statements you made, most important the parent company not being in touch with the jeep market. This was a great video and it got me to subscribe.
I think the other thing you are forgetting is the Bronco also released in 21. So the market also splintered. As potential customers now had new other choices.
Fullsize vs midsized track width. Overpriced pavement princess that breaks under real wheeling vs. Proven trail rig. There's a reason you only see jeeps and toyotas on real trails.
I’m a new jeep owner, I do agree with these issues that I learned AFTER buying it, it’s sad because when I first bought I thought this jeep was insane quality, and I’m noticing it. The amount of money and work I’m putting into it to be what I wanted from the dealership is crazy. I still love this truck, and love the community. But I do agree what you’re saying.
My 2020 Gladiator was looking at its 6th trip to the body shop for corrosion. It had to have a new transmission at 40,000 kms, and the Uconnect screen was freezing up if you drove for more than an hour. It had so many issues, and the dealership I bought it from said I had to start taking it to another dealership. Thankfully, I found Orillia Dodge. They helped me out with all my Jeep issues, and treated me like I had bought 4 Jeeps there. I decided that since I still have my TJ, I was fed up with all the headaches, and I bought a Ram. Orillia Dodge made me a deal I couldn't say no to. I'll never buy a new Jeep though.
@DIRTROADCRED don't get me wrong, I'll keep my TJ and/or get another JK, but after how the first dealership treated me... but time will tell right. I should rephrase my statement to, as of now, I won't buy a new Jeep. I'll make sure I watch your channel, though, so I stay up to date.
Wish I could get a bare bones model but with all the performance goodies. Ala Rubicon without the luxury items. Base model, 3.6, lockers, full float axles, casetfr case, 4:88 gears. 37s
Appreciate that you offered some solutions as well in this video. It's far easier these days to list off all the complaints but you added some suggestions to help the situation. Keep up the great job fella's.
@@bones549 the Mercedes is a very nice and refined vehicle and has impressive power, etc., but it does not have the raw feel of the hemi and the solid axle so you really truly feel like you’re driving the car. It’s a different experience. I enjoy both.
Long time jeep owner. 93 Wrangler, 00 Cherokee Sport, 03 Wrangler Sport, 08 Sahara (piece of crap) and just purchased a 24 Willys. Interesting conversation with inventory manager. was told Stellantis plans to discontinue both the Gladiator AND the Wrangler line.
So.... I have an 07 JK 2d, Wife's got a 12 JKU SAHARA, And i literally just bought a 20 JT sport mod'd- lifted, 20's w/35's. soft top. 30kmiles for 30k$. I feel good.!!!!!
Let’s face it. Tavares and the board , along with global economic problems, are pretty much to blame for destroying what was left of CDJR. The disgruntled UAW workers no longer care about quality, further leading to fewer buyers. Seriously, jump the prices way up when interest rates are up? Dumb move for sales. Tavares made sure that he made big profits last year with no regard for 2024 and later sales. We own 4 2023 and 2024 Jeeps. My 4Xe Grand Cherokee has had so many recalls that it sits in the street. It’s past time for Stellantis to sell CDJR to a US buyer that understands our market.
JP 2024 I don't think my purchase of a Rubicon X a few weeks ago will keep Jeep in business but although Jeep took a lot of options away and forced me into the X I just couldn't find another brand that peaked my interest. I've owned a Wrangler since 2011 and thoroughly enjoyed it. By the way, the reason I jumped on the X is because the dealer dropped the price $6600 plus a got a Jeep loyalty discount of $600. So, needless to say the out the door price was well below $70,000 which was the MSRP.
I have a 20 gladiator that faded and corroded too, my wife has a 21 392 and the hydro hood is corroding similar to my hinges. and not at the hinges. Its awesome!!!!!
As always guys, GREAT video!! I have been saying the same thing in my TH-cam videos… Stallantis is killing the Jeep brand and it’s unfortunate. I agree 100% with you and they need a major overhaul and price decrease to stay relevant and keep owners coming back. Hopefully they can figure it out before it’s too late and Jeep gets sold to the Chinese…
Yes, those that got burned should be pissed. I am not one of them, however, I am still upset because of the pricing. My 2017 Recon JK fully loaded stickered for $46K, and I bought it in Jul 2017 when 2018 were about to roll so they took $6K off. That's a fully loaded Rubicon JKU Recon with steel bumpers, 1" lift, lockers, leather, etc. for $40K. That jeep (equivalent) today would be $75-80K. So in 7 years it has double in price. I may have to go buy a Landcruiser...... The last 8 vehicles I've owned were all CDJR products. But Toyota (SUV, truck) and Honda (car) may be the next ones in my garage.
Your JK isn’t comparable to a 2024+ JL Rubicon, no matter how much you dump into it. Power seats, Nappa leather, curtain air bags just to name a few. If you used the inflation calculator and put your amount in, it’s worth $66k today.
I love this video, thanks Matt and Ryan! I've been driving Jeeps professionally for the past few years to help bring the brand to life at auto shows and off-road events. In all that time, I have felt ZERO love from corporate, and ZERO offers of any kind of purchase discount, even though I wheeled with Jim Morrison (now retired) on more than one occasion. As I’m sure many others have, I felt like their #1 fan for YEARS, and yet… they simply don’t care. So couple that with the increased quality issues, yeah, I got increasingly angry at the corporate disregard for an extremely loyal customer base. They had their chance and they blew it. And several insiders saw the writing on the wall as soon as Stellantis took over- increased cost cutting and quality issues. Thanks again for your insights- you guys nailed it.
Great discussion. I really hope Jeep pulls through with some of the loyalists requests... but I'm one of the ones thinking the bean counters killed a great thing. Thank you those on the line building our beloved Jeeps. Your service is appreciated.
I suspect dealers made their money and now don't even care if they go out of business. Also fleet sales maybe propping up the other side of their sales.
Great video! My wife and I are in the market for a new Wrangler as it’s one of the few vehicles that you can flat tow behind an RV. But like you’re saying OMG the prices are crazy for what you get and the color selection and the interior selections are so limited. We don’t want a strip model and we don’t want a 392 hemi for $106,000! They should make a nicely equipped in-line six auto that has more color options for less than $50k. Surely that’s doable?
Jeep is disappointing, they have a timeless platform that offers so much potential to consumers but they keep fumbling the bag by targeting exclusively luxury vehicle market. I admit a majority of jeep wranglers will never see a dirt road more than once a year, I cant fathom not expanding into entry level markets with lower tier trims. Jeeps are pretty cheap to build, simple machines with cheap parts and endless configurations. I do not foresee jeep being able to write the course whilst maintaining the current projections for Full EV that stellantis is pushing for. Also i want that damned fold down brush guard
I have a 2014 4dr Wrangler Sport that I would rather replace motor, transmission, etc than buy a new one. New subscriber here btw. Binge watching to catch up!
I contacted multiple dealers around me for 392 wranglers and they still not discounting them, they sitting for over 200 days on the lot, I offer $80k and they all declined. Best of luck to them for surviving. No single customer on theirs lots of
I just bought a JK in January of this year. It's my first Jeep. Looking at the cost of buying a new JL or JT plus the cost of parts and maintenance being more; I'm inclined to keep the JK, encourage my wife to get one too, stick to the aftermarket for parts, and do as much of the maintenance and mods as I can, myself. I agree with you guys. I feel like Stellantis has shifted the focus of the brand to appeal to the status/ luxury SUV/ Mall crawler crowd instead of those who view and use our Jeeps as daily drivers AND/or a rugged, off-road utility rig.
I work at a Stella dealership. I’m a life long, 3rd generation, Mopar guy, and Jeep fanatic. My wife and I both drive Jeeps. A couple things- A.) We ordered my wife’s 2.0 Xtreme Recon in early May, and it arrived in middle December. This is unacceptable to me. Order exactly what you want yes, but keep delivery to 6 weeks or less B.) Just thank you all for the video, it echos exactly what my colleagues and I talk about in service and parts near weekly. Stellantis just doesn’t understand the 7 slots
Stellantis is on the door for bankruptcy. They might shut doors tomorrow. There goes your warranty, any parts made, or any support. Stellantis is a forgiven company no u.s. buyout. Pray that jeep gets sold before this happens.
This isn't true, they're still printing money. They're just printing *less*. They're still making billions in profit each quarter, and last I heard they had ~52b in liquid cash laying around for investments.
Stellantis doesn't manufacture all of the parts for Jeep. Suppliers and aftermarket companies will continue to make parts. You don't need the dealer. Other mechanics can repair the vehicle.
Absolutely love my 2023 Jeep gladiator Eco diesel with every option I wanted, including the front camera. 18,000 off sticker amazing bought it about a year ago. Killer deal. The quality control is superb so far from what I see the fit and finish interior the way the door closes everything I love amazing amazing amazing. I’m keeping it till I die.
I’m keeping my 2022 Rubicon Gladiator too! They replaced the high pressure fuel pump before I had any issues. 35’s and it has torque for days. 45,000 miles.
Great video!! As a new Jeep Wrangler owner it saddens me to see what’s going on. I hope they fix all this so we can continue to enjoy jeeps for decades to come!! Such an awesome vehicle! Love the channel guys!!
Thank you for the discussion. I appreciate you guys and the work you do to keep us informed. I hope CORPORATE listens to you because you are speaking for a good number of US!
They also need to get back to SEMA. They used to have the second or third largest booth at SEMA. Now they are gone. I'm assuming it costs a lot to have a large booth at SEMA, but at least have a presence. So much of SEMA is off-road, overlanding and customizing parts and companies. They should be there.
Nice video, I really liked the 4xe when it came out, the power and electric only mode is great. However lately with the fire recall out with no fix available, plus the battery degradation that is double what Samsung said it would be, has me looking at used 392’s but then I hear about lifter problems with those. The 3.6 and 2.0 are just too slow and I’m used to saving fuel with the 4xe. Really wished that jeep would have had better quality standards for Samsung or testing on the battery cells before launching instead of trying to meet a CARB mandate. Really like the capability of the wrangler but there definitely needs to be some better QC.
I am not a first time jeep owner. I owned three Cherokees back in the 90’s. But i am a first time wrangler owner. I bought a 2018 sport S 2-door last November. I had been looking for quite awhile. I found mine on eBay. Now some background on it. It had been in an accident. I researched the jeep. I spoke to the shop that did the repairs. It was what i considered, minimal front end esthetic damage. Unfortunately, the insurance company didnt want to fix it and it was considered totaled. Fortunately for me , the shop did a great job with the repairs. My jeep had 30,069 miles on it. I paid 23,000 for it. I flew from Louisiana to Miami Florida to pick it up. Was it a perfect jeep, no, but i got a great deal on it. Only esthetic damage mind you. All of that had been repaired. Since my purchase, i have put into it almost twice the money i paid for it. Almost everything yall have done to your jeeps, I’ve done also. I absolutely love it! It has now become my everyday vehicle. I take it rock climbing. My new passion. Ive found an awesome community of Jeep enthusiasts who are like minded and just fun. My new friends keep telling me that i will one day graduate to a four door. Im not so sure i will. I have developed a relationship with a wonderful 4x4 shop in my area. They started our jeep group over 5 years ago and it’s a wonderful charitable organization. I absolutely love your channel. Im 58 years old and im retired because of a disability. Can’t have numb fingers and perform dentistry lol. Everything yall have talked about today are valid points. I agree with everything yall have said. Im dealing with corrosion, of course , they wont fix it because of my title. Even though , nothing that was damaged in the accident required to be repainted. Until they fix their corporate issues, i will not be buying a brand new jeep. I would have loved to have a brand new 392. Not for the money that they are charging. My friends, just keep doing the great work yall do on this channel. I hope to meet yall some day. Take care and God bless
I’ve owned 4 Jeeps in my life and I recently traded in my 21 Mojave for a brand new Raptor bronco because of the quality control issues! I will never buy another Jeep until they fix it!
Fantastic job guys! Hope Jeep Marketing gets in touch with you since it appears they listen to your channel. I have a '20 & '24 Rubi that have been pretty trouble free so far. My '21 Grand Cherokee L however, not so much. I'm lucky that I'm retired & don't need to daily any of them & they're garaged, so no corrosion issues so far. I hope Stellantis sells the Jeep brand, as any company that buys it should do much better.
I’m planning to get back to Jeep. I bought a 1988 YJ back in the day. Gave it Mickey Thompson Mudders. I have since sold it to a friend. I promised to myself, I’ll get a Jeep when I older. I’m 59 now. I’m buying an Eco- Diesel used Gladiator and a V8 Hemi modified Gladiator. The Best of the Best!
Great video ! I’ve owned 10 Jeeps over the years including the first Rubicon. Definitely questioning if I’ll get another Wrangler. Probably will, but currently looking at other brands before I buy. Never thought of other brands. High price, continuous quality issues and limited options making me think of leaving the brand.
Great points agree with all of them. I am only at Jeep #7 and 4th Wranger. Only two were brand new. I really miss my old TJ, one that was simple and I could work on.
I just bought back in August of this year, a new 2024 Jeep Rubicon w/a 6 speed manual, 3.6L V6, for over $51K, after a $8K price cut. It's fully loaded, including having all Leather Seats. After 1500 miles, the damn transmission started going. 😡 After a month and a half at the dealer, they finally got a replacement transmission. They're in the process of installing it right now, together w/a brand new clutch assy. I told them that I want to inspect the installation up on the lift before they hand me the keys. Very seldom does a manual transmission ever fail, especially a brand new one no less.
I can only speak for my self and I am one person so I don't think Stellantis will even see my message. But I am a loyal Jeep enthusiast. I have my first Jeep now for 24 years (26 year old Jeep bough second hand 3 years into its life) (1998 Jeep XJ 2 Door) and am loving it every day since I bought it. I have put money into it and made it better in every way you can. It's never let me down and has inspired family and friends to buy jeeps. From my mom getting a Jeep WJ to my GF to get a Jeep Renegade, To friends. One of which has now upgraded from a newer Cherokee to a Grand Cherokee with a Hemi and now a Willys Wrangler. I have even had people on the street stop me and tell me that my jeep inspired them to get one. To to mention random people offering me money for it on the street. If that does not tell you something about my Jeep then I dont know what does. I will never sell my Jeep XJ but wanted something bigger and was aiming for a Jeep Gladiator or a Wrangler with a JXL upgrade package to extend its rear by a foot or more (never enough space :) ). But I can't buy one and the reason is these vehicles and the prices they cost have left normal every day Joes like me in the dust never to buy one on a normal income. I would have to be paying 1000K about monthly for 96 months in Canada. and no I'm not crazy to suffer 10 years in dept. for this. These vehicles now are for the well of or rich. Or for the crazy which we Jeep people are about our Jeeps, but seriously way to much. Also JEEP in the past and now states they listen to their customer.. bragging they put a v8 in a wrangler. Because we listen to our customer their said. That's a total load of BS! Why they did this is because Ford Released the Bronco. If Jeep really listened to their customers they would put V8's into jeeps Decade(s) ago and continued to this day. And I dont mean the monster one like the 6.5- but instead smaller more practical ones be it a 4.7 V8 or a 5.7Hemi. They say they cant as the FCC and emissions. Well I have seen some youtubers buy and test the new GM 2.7 I4 Chevy/GM Canyon or Colorado and tested it against a older lifted GMC Sierra with a V8 (both on 35" tires) and guess which got better fuel economy? Yes the V8. Also if they are not allowed to produce these kind of engines then why is Jeep have Final Final edition???? What's next Final Final Final Final Edition? What Stellantis are the V8 6.4 bringing you money you greedy little Scroodges? Keeping your bean counters happy? Ok so what you'll give us a I6 hurricane? but wait that will be in a 392 equivalent in price here. For what? a engine made half of plastic? With no dip stick? Wait till these engines get 26 years old and the plastic gets brittle.. Engine fires anyone? Please Please for the love of god give us a decently powerful engine like the GM 2.7 that is in the Colorado. And yes Jeep has put engines from GM in before. Give us torque at load end and dont rip us off, we made you, We can also break you.. Notice your sales? Here is for your records, I actually bought a used Diesel wrangler had 55.000km on it and returned it Due to de dealer messing up on paper work and not disclosing what I was signing and for how much!... Thank god I returned it. It would of cost me 102K (canadian) all said and done for a Used jeep that was leaking oil and I can only imagine what that emission system did to the innards of the engine. I worked in retail for 13+ Years. Its simple, 1) LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS!! 2) KEEP THINGS SIMPLE STUPID> we work on our vehicles. Dont force bad engineering so we cant fix them. There is no reason for this other then keeping us PAYING more for mechanic. We need to be able to fix it in the middle of no where. 3) back to #1 Give us good RELIABLE ENGINES, Good I4 like the GM 2.7 430lb torque.. No hybrids! thank you. 4) lower the weigh but dont increase it for Jeepers that dont WANT a 600-700 lb battery as dead weight that explodes! 5) give us more range in size of fuel tanks 6) (for the Cherokee guys) Give us a real Cherokee with solid Axels 7) Make if affordable to the people who made you!. Remember we still have to pay the loads that your dealers ever so happily put us in the highest monthly payment so they get something out ofg it. 8) DONT CHANGE OUR BRAND TO WHAT IT IS NOT! These are not sports cars. And if Mall moms want them they can buy them But dont make them into Cross Overs! Put that under your Chrysler name or Dodge. 9) regulate your dealers. Punish the ones that price gouge 10) Create a way your customer can communicate with you directly to help make you better (LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMER). This should not be through 3rd parties and forums. and TH-cam. CONNECT WITH US. 11) Don't bloat the prices, You are not the only one making capable trucks and you are loosing customer faster then you know. Im looking at a GM Colorado more and more. Gladiator's engine options SUCK!! Hybrid BAD idea for real jeepers. LISTEN PLEASE> Thanks for reading my rant and ideas. I wish you luck Stellantis , We all hope you make it right. Loyal Jeep Customer. Rob. PS: LOVE YOU CHANNEL DIRT ROAD CRED
We have 3 Wranglers in the driveway. We bought our first in 2012 and still have it. In 2023 we went to the dealer to buy our next Wrangler, a 2door Rubicon. The price was ridiculous - $50k (basically no options). No sale. Later, I pulled up some old pricing data on the internet to compare. A 2018 JL rubicon, similarly equipped, was $38k. A 30% increase in 5 years? The prices are so out of touch with reality. It feels like they are intentionally shutting out the loyal customers.
Legacy owner and long time fan here on my 10th Jeep. Multiple CJs, TJs, JK even some well built XJ, WK2 and now a first edition 2018 JL. Im blown away by the costs of what used to be an every man's vehicle. Mine is custom ordered as a Sahara base, but with a dana44 rear, muti-top - built up with factory Mopar 2"suspension, racks, rails etc Candidly I would (begrudgingly) pay the price for a new one , but suddenly I am not even able to order a the V6 in an auto. I don't want either the Hybrid or the turbo charged 4... so I have simply opted to keep my 7 year old Jeep. In my case, while it is a daily - I don't commute in it so it only has 40k miles. As a result, I haven't updated. Something I typically do every 4-5 years. I am brand loyal... but do wonder what is going on with Jeep, and bummed by watching the changes that I would agree began during the 2020-21 time period.
Think your video was spot on. The Jeep brand needs to be a stand alone. Back to basics of what a Jeep was or is. To me there is only so much you can do design wise exterior to the Jeep from the factory.
I purchased a Gadiator 2023 Diesel Willys. Cost about 55,000 with long term warranty. I thought it not a bad deal for the price. I also think the Gladiator is a very nice fit for a sububan style pickup / utility vehicle. Most home owners just need a truck to haul things out and in and the Gladiator can definately do that. I get 26 mpg and am very happy.
Im new to being a Jeep owner myself. But Jeep has been in my family's blood for four generations. I have worked at Jeep, my dad had 25 years in at the cove. My great grandfather was one of the inventors of the Willy's Knight engine in 1920. Our family is proud of the Jeep name and our city of Toledo where it began and remains. I hope that the wrangler can weather the storm Stellantis has created since taking over the brand. I feel that this city will die if the wrangler dies. In your video you never mentioned about the death wobble. My 23 HT has 14k on it and is already giving me the shakes. It will be going into the shop soon. Also as a side note. Im happy to learn that your half door hinges were painted underneath. 😊 Thanks guys for all the info you deliver to us.
I had death wobble at 3k miles. Had 4 bad o2 sensors so far as well. Just under 8500miles as of this morning when I took it in to get another o2 sensor fixed. I need to talk to lawyer on lemon law stuff
I also have a recall notification to fix my dashboard. So sick of this car. Edit: I just wanted to build an off-road truck and I can’t even trust it to drive 100miles.
Hey guys. I remember a Jeep dealership out here in Nj years ago that actually had a little off road course. It was out in northwest Jersey. It was so cool there was a camelback and an off camber rutted section. They really catered to the enthusiast there.
I’ve wanted a Wrangler my entire life. I had a ‘00 Cherokee that I loved but wasn’t a Wrangler. The 10th of this month I ordered my first Wrangler Rubicon with the AEV JL350 package 2.5” DualSport suspension in Fathom Blue and I’m friggin stoked!! Got a great deal from Dan Cummins but that’s another topic. The Jeep community will always be strong because we are passionate! I love the ideas of the colors as a 2k option because that’s what I was waiting for. I wanted deep dark blue. I do think too many option are problematic for any company and not cost effective so I understand some of those decisions. After all the Jeep community is big on after market customization. Maybe they get back to the basics like Sport, Willys, Sahara, and Rubicon. Then let the Off-road shops, forums, and TH-camrs show the community how to pimp their rides! An affordable Jeep in a standard trim that allows everyone to build what they want I think would help. I think you are on to something when you talk about boutique style as well. Jeep offers the trims and dealers can put together aftermarket packages . Keep corporate at the headquarters and let the dealers tackle the custom portion. My two cents. Well anyway, I’ll let you know how long my build takes. I’m not expecting it for quite a while. Thanks for what you guys do!
Whats the delivery time? I just was told that 2025's are not shipping due to parts and problems. Only a few have made it out into the wild. Plus the line is on a first shift only working one on, two weeks off.
@@TolcomOhio they said 6-12 weeks but with the current situation of 23/24 inventory, plus having to go to AEV after the factory, and I picked a late run color, I’ll be excited if I get it by April or May. Time will tell..
Great vid. Agree with all you comments. My point would be price for sure. I ordered my 24 Sport S, 2 door with V6, power group, upgraded stereo, led lights but could not get the 6 manual so had to pay more for the 8 auto. Freedom panels and heated wheel and seats (cloth). First sticker I got was 55K, when the truck came in sticker was 61+. Dealer honored the 55 but after tax was 68,500 CDN, painful.
JP 2024 - My wife and I bought a 2024 Sport S in Earl Grey about 4 months ago. We've been loving driving it! We own a crappy Renegade as well that is on it's last legs. Not looking forward to replacing that.
I'm enjoying this video. I am a past YJ Wrangler and XJ Cherokee owner. I like your ideas on how to fix many of Jeep's issues, but I feel compelled to comment regarding the idea of Jeep\Stellantis offering a Wrangler in many different "flavors" to appeal to the street guys, the luxury guys, the sportsman guys, the Rock crawling guys, etc. The problem with that, and my guess to the response Jeep would give you, is that "options\choices cost money". They cost money in many, many different ways for the manufacturer. From a consumers standpoint, why cant I just pick from a list of 100 different options to have built exactly what I want? I'm sure Jeep would say, that costs too much money. And it does. Change-overs on the production lines for different axles, paint, interiors, sound systems, lights, wheels\tires, etc. costs time which means money. This is always passed on in spades to the buyer. You, or other people may be willing to spend $60k + for what you want at 9%+ financing, but most cant afford that. For me, I remember when Jeep had an identity. Not a bunch of marketing BS about patriotism (it's owned by Fiat) and pipe dream off-road prowess on dirt roads. I remember (I'm 61 years old) when Jeep simply meant the durable, utilitarian, jack-of-all- offroad-trades vehicle. A CJ or a Waggoneer, or a Gladiator\SJ were all utilitarian vehicles in the true sense. You bought a Cadillac for luxury, you bought a Mustang for performance, an F150 to haul\tow, but you bought a Jeep (or Bronco, Scout or Blazer) for a utility off-road vehicle because it's engineered as exactly that. That was it's identity. Now a Jeep is a 100 different types of vehicles, competing in dozens of different arena for a buyers dollar. Now a Jeep is trying to be a Cadillac, Mustang, and an F150 in addition to trying to being a Jeep. I think all manufacturers, including Jeep need to go back to their roots. Build a Jeep to be like a 70's CJ7 with modern powertrain and a spartan interior. JEEP, much like Harley, was built not only on it's identity, but that it was built to be a blank canvas for us to modify to our needs. Some just wanted a stock 4x4. Some went wild with lifts and tires and engines. But the cost to get in the game for a buyer was the same, inexpensive!!! And remember, that it was inexpensive for the manufacturer as well!!! These are my thoughts on how to "fix" Jeep. BTW, I built my 89 Wrangler for my purpose. I swapped in a injected 350 Chev\700R4, Ford Bronco 44\9", locked both ends, shackle reversal, 4" lift on 35" tires. It was comparatively cheap, but it was very effective. It wasn't a Caddy, Stang or F150. Just my 2 cents.
I’m not an engineer, but a fix for the corrosion issue may be: 1) put a rubber plate between the body and the hinge, which may be quicker and easier than repainting and hoping the paint matches. These could be done at Jeep events and rallies to begin with, then spread to dealerships. Quick fix at low cost. 2) start painting them correctly at the factory during new Jeep builds.
Spot on. I’ve owned every generation of open-top Jeep but I sold my TJ in 2010 and owned Mazdas for a decade until the JK was put to bed. I just never liked that model’s look and I hated the unnecessary branding on the grill. I ordered a JL Rubicon in 2019 because I couldn’t find one at a dealership to test drive for more than a year. This Jeep seemed like it should’ve been the successor of the TJ. Love this Jeep and my wife’s 2021 JLU. I’m going to hang onto these for a while. Hopefully we won’t need to take another decade break from the brand after the JL! The only point that wasn’t mentioned was interest rates and the economy. I think that these are part of the stale Jeep inventory. I think a Jeep lending program with good interest rates, sale pricing or rebates could thin the herd.
JP2024!! Thank you for another great video. I have commented before on this but JEEP is trying to compare themselves to a Mercedes / BMW luxury car with pricing but give the features of a 1998 Nissan Sentra!! I also had to leave PA to get my JEEP due to the EV push. I had ordered a 3.6 from the PA dealership but my order kept being pushed back to allow for the EVs to be built. I am involved with an RV manufacture quick heavily and I see their marketing and design teams also falling flat on the issue of the creatures NOT actually being users or listening to the users so I can relate to your real issues you see with how JEEP sees the brand moving forward.
I'm on my 5th Jeep (CJ-7, TJ, TJ Rubicon, JK Sahara, and JL Sahara) and would normally consider swapping out my ride around the 5-year mark… BUT…, for me, they simply aren't worth what Jeep/dealers are currently asking. Service hasn't been any better. Oil changes usually cost me a little over $80 (and were up until April 2024); my last one (in September 2024) was $130. WTF? If my current Jeep isn't my last car (I'm in my 60s), my next vehicle will likely be something else. So sick of the dealer model in generall; paying extra for, basically, nothing.
The part about the options is very true. I noticed that what you now have to buy the Mojave X or Rubicon X I got on my 2023 Mojave for less than the new X models cost. Granted i dont have the electric seats and fancy new infotainment system (which i personally dont like the look of) but I have everything else. And I only paid $61k. Also yes, the price is getting too high when you compare to competition. Ive seen a lot of diehard Jeep guys leave to the Bronco. It's hard to justify paying the price asked for the old pentastar.
My local Jeep dealer had 3 4xe’s on the lot for well over 200 days. The week prior to me going in they had a dealer discount of over 12k on them. I had fully planned to buy one the next week when I got back in town. I went in on that next Monday fully ready to buy it and they removed the discount and absolutely would not deal with me saying well that was last week you should have come in then. The next day I went to my local Ford dealer and bought a Bronco Badlands Sasquatch because they would work with me on price bc that vehicle had been there for a similar about of them. Won’t go back to that dealer and probably Jeep for a very long time now…..and those 4xe’s are still sitting on the lot. Makes no sense to me.
Let us meet with the Jeep Corporate Marketing Team 😅

I just signed this petition. If you meet with them, please bring up if they can bring back the manual crank windows back.
Jp2024
Just bought a 2024 Wrangler. I really appreciate your insight to the issues with Jeep quality
Thank you for your feedback from the dealership, my wife’s GC has issues with the head unit since new in 2021…. It’s insane
Jeep ain't dead, but Stellantis' days are numbered.
Depends on the Jeep lol
My 4XE Rubicon is definitely dead though
Thats insane….
In the UK a Rubicon with skytop approx 56-60k gbp (about 75-80k usd).
Jeep needs to be solely an American company. I wish Chrysler would become its own company again. Stellantis doesn't know the American Jeep market,
Agreed.
Europeans destroy American brands. A European company bought our company out and is running it into the ground.
Clearly Chrysler didn’t know what to do with it either.
LMAO- Why? American companies are the top of greedy global companies vs international ones. Where is the dealership blame?
@@ur_shulgi9133 what are you talking about? All companies are “greedy.” You should research Japanese companies if you want to see greedy giant monopolies.
Jeep paid $14k to repaint my doors and hood, how is that cheaper than painting both sides of the hinges?? Great vid guys!
ditto here AND they paid to replace the HV battery in my '21 Rubi 4xe..They're losing money on my Jeep 100%
Probably because it’s only a handful of them that they actually have to service while under warranty.
$15000 off a $70000 vehicle is not a deal, it's all relative.
It's not even a good start
Valid Point!
I only got 10k off msrp of 61k today Thought I did okay
@@cynicalcb Nah you still got taken to the cleaners, there is no way in hell I'd spend 51k on a jeep. Not these new ones anyway, although I understand. Good luck, and I hope it works out for you Cynical!
@@Deven210 51k for a Rubicon seemed pretty standard to me. At the very least more in line with the market.
I love my Jeep and I think many do too. Jeep isn't going anywhere, but Stellantis needs the boot. Great content, loved the discussion. Thank you!
As a 4 month JLUR owner I am eating up all the Jeep content I can feed on. Your channel is at the top of my list for Jeep news! I got a silver Rubi but really wanted Punk'n or Gekco but they are near impossible to find on the used market with all the options I wanted.
Awesome! Thank you!
You make a lot of good points but…I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MY 2024 JEEP RUBICON EXTREME RECON !!!
Good overview guys...my 2018 had the bubbling around the hinges...when I was trading it in for my 2024 Willy's, they said it reduced the value...I quickly pointed out it was a manufacturing issue, not an owner issue...good video guys...
I don’t off-road but like the aggressive look and enjoying my jeep more and more
I think the major problem started in 2018 with the new JL; the prices shot up exponentially from there and the corrosion issues were laid with the aluminum panels.
Many more would take them off road if they didn’t cost so much to buy and repair!
Agreed. A rugged base model XR with all the heavy duty off-road mechanicals.
Thx!
Appreciate the long term support!
JP2024! Loved the video guys. Thanks for fighting the fight!
They are not giving discounts, they are actually selling them at what their price should be.
They are overpriced by $15,000
I am a legacy follower and have enjoyed your content since dealership days but have been concerned that you guys haven’t dealt enough with the challenges that we Jeep enthusiasts are facing.
I'm considering a manual gladiator, would you buy the manual again?
Yes! But I'm going to regear from 3:45 to 4:88 in the axles after warranty is over. Clutch is perfect for town or trail
Great channel - thanks for the content you put out
I’m on my 5th wrangler - 1 TJ - 2JKs - 2JLs
The 2 JLs were purchased 18months apart
23-JLRubicon purchased March of 23 msrp 58k purchased for 60k OTD
24 JL Rubicon purchased October of 24 msrp 78k purchased for 60k OTD
These numbers against that period of time should speak to their desire to move units
I was going to buy one in 2020 but couldn’t get my mind around 75k (which included an 8k dealer lift wheels and tires package) for a wrangler with 500 bucks off msrp
Jeep added way too many engine options and trims - time to slim down get back to basics - but I get why these things happen and sometimes brands do need to try to do more but sometimes it can happen faster than they can assess and find what works well - I believe that to be the case here
I agree with much of what you all are saying about reclassifying the segments of wranglers into 2 buckets and bringing more colors in - at least charging for them would be smart rather than making people wait - there are people out there with money willing to pay for the color they want -
And yes please just keep pressing on ventilated seats - I came close to buying a bronco just for that reason but I’m still here Jeep - put some ventilated seats on the next model
Glad I didn't pay anywhere near MSRP.
my local JDCR dealer has closed its doors...all cars are gone from the lots...have to go down 2 towns to another dealer for service....
Love the straight talk....keep it up.
Thank you!
Appreciate that!
Cheerio! Keep it up mate... love your channel since the beginning.... damn Jeep brought me here
The Jeep's mechanicals are solid. th-cam.com/video/w-WTrmNgNaY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ujDmCtfH_RQ9buKK
For sure!
I work at the Toledo assembly plant, this is literally killing us.
@@dvader3263 and Ford sold a combined 1.99 million units last year.
With the new recall on 4xe which I have (2024) WHY are they still selling these if you are not suppose to charge them anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Exactly! They shouldn’t sell it before fix the situation. One of the parking says “ don’t park 4xe any model. They will towing. How ridiculous wrangler 4xe is very expensive car. Do something!!!
It’s a illusion to keep the fake green narrative they are force to push being a European car company
Go for it; you'll love it! But trying haggling over the price some more. Offer them $45K. "Take it or leave it." Fall back to $50K if you have to.
No
This is all bittersweet to hear.
Me too!
Damn, sorry to hear all that!
You guys always have great info to share and back up everything you say with facts! I really appreciate that! THANK YOU!
Wish I could get a bare bones model but with all the performance goodies. Ala Rubicon without the luxury items. Base model, 3.6, lockers, full float axles, casetfr case, 4:88 gears. 37s
Same!
@@t.o.f.t.s. stellantis doesn’t completely understand the American market. Perfect example they discontinued the V8.
@jasonnash7323 well that may be due to Obama era EPA restrictions. 😡. Ridiculous
Appreciate that you offered some solutions as well in this video. It's far easier these days to list off all the complaints but you added some suggestions to help the situation. Keep up the great job fella's.
My 392 is my J-Wagon. G-Wagon for the common guy!
No that's what they want you to buy into. It's just an over priced jeep. Dam cool one but not on level of Mercedes
@@bones549 the Mercedes is a very nice and refined vehicle and has impressive power, etc., but it does not have the raw feel of the hemi and the solid axle so you really truly feel like you’re driving the car. It’s a different experience. I enjoy both.
We don’t even get 392 in Australia . You are so lucky!
Thanks for providing a rational/practical discussion. There's definitely a problem when you can buy a Corvette for the same amount as a Jeep Wrangler.
I wanted to trade my 22 Tacoma sport for a Willy’s extreme recon but this video has changed my mind.
Would have to agree with you there!
Owners not caring if they go out of business?
Doesn't make sense.
I do agree on the fleet sales.
Also i want that damned fold down brush guard
lol we all want the fold down brush guard, I’m tempted to start designing our own!
A couple things-
A.) We ordered my wife’s 2.0 Xtreme Recon in early May, and it arrived in middle December. This is unacceptable to me. Order exactly what you want yes, but keep delivery to 6 weeks or less
B.) Just thank you all for the video, it echos exactly what my colleagues and I talk about in service and parts near weekly.
Let’s hope!
This isn't true, they're still printing money. They're just printing *less*. They're still making billions in profit each quarter, and last I heard they had ~52b in liquid cash laying around for investments.
@alphawolffff not in the north American market tho.
@@alphawolffff look at stellantis stock. Down 44% in a year!
I love my 23 diesel gladiator as well!
Hey guys, you did a great job covering some key issues in this video. Well done.
Thanks for highlighting my silver and black CJ5. Had a good time in Pigeon Forge.
JP2024, great talking points and I think you guys are spot on with regards to Jeeps current problems
So many dealerships have closed here in Australia it’s crazy
I just bought back in August of this year, a new 2024 Jeep Rubicon w/a 6 speed manual, 3.6L V6, for over $51K, after a $8K price cut.
It's fully loaded, including having all Leather Seats.
After 1500 miles, the damn transmission started going. 😡
After a month and a half at the dealer, they finally got a replacement transmission.
Its simple,
1) LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS!!
5) give us more range in size of fuel tanks
6) (for the Cherokee guys) Give us a real Cherokee with solid Axels
7) Make if affordable to the people who made you!.
Punish the ones that price gouge
10) Create a way your customer can communicate with you directly to help make you better (LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMER).
LISTEN PLEASE>
Thanks for reading my rant and ideas. I wish you luck Stellantis , We all hope you make it right.
Loyal Jeep Customer.

JP2024 you are absolutely right Matt. they need to back to the basic with the jeep I have the corrosion problem under the paint on the hood.
Legacy owner and long time fan here on my 10th Jeep. Multiple CJs, TJs, JK even some well built XJ, WK2 and now a first edition 2018 JL. Im blown away by the costs of what used to be an every man's vehicle. Mine is custom ordered as a Sahara base, but with a dana44 rear, muti-top - built up with factory Mopar 2"suspension, racks, rails etc
Candidly I would (begrudgingly) pay the price for a new one , but suddenly I am not even able to order a the V6 in an auto.
Great content, DRC! I love the info podcast format!
This might be one of the best episodes! Thanks for getting this discussion out on your channel!
Thanks guys for all the info you deliver to us.
I had death wobble at 3k miles. Had 4 bad o2 sensors so far as well. Just under 8500miles as of this morning when I took it in to get another o2 sensor fixed.
I need to talk to lawyer on lemon law stuff
@@TeensierPython what did they do to fix the wobble?
@@TolcomOhio new steering damper.
I also have a recall notification to fix my dashboard.
So sick of this car.
Edit: I just wanted to build an off-road truck and I can’t even trust it to drive 100miles.
@@TeensierPython that sounds about right.
Hey guys. I remember a Jeep dealership out here in Nj years ago that actually had a little off road course. It was out in northwest Jersey. It was so cool there was a camelback and an off camber rutted section. They really catered to the enthusiast there.
We make Rubicon hoods and Grand Cherokee floor pans, nothing has moved for 2 weeks…
@@hankpilot I love the color. Told myself I would get it when it was available. Butbim kind of stuck with my 23 high tide in high velocity.
I’m not an engineer, but a fix for the corrosion issue may be:
1) put a rubber plate between the body and the hinge, which may be quicker and easier than repainting and hoping the paint matches.
Traded in my 4xe for a 4Runner the fire recall did it for me
I'm on my 5th Jeep (CJ-7, TJ, TJ Rubicon, JK Sahara, and JL Sahara) and would normally consider swapping out my ride around the 5-year mark… BUT…, for me, they simply aren't worth what Jeep/dealers are currently asking.
