    Many are still missing the point… date up, date down date all around IF HIS CHARACTER IS POOR IT’S A LOSE LOSE SITUATION ALL AROUND!! Y’all still on here hollering about settling, yet will still settle for a man with money with poor character. The conversation is exhausting!

      Exactly! These ppl so lost and it's tiring at this point. Nobody is saying you can't have both, but a lot of the time women overlook the man's character and red flags because he has money. And then use it as an excuse as to why they're with trash. At the end of day, ppl can date who they want and if the money talks for them then so be it. To each their own.

      @@BerryFlair Ma'am, if you read my comment correctly you wouldn't have asked me the questions you did. Because I specifically said, and I quote, "but a lot of the time women overlook the man's character and red flags because he has money and then use it (the fact he has money) as an excuse to why they're with trash." Thank you. You basically trying to be argumentative just for the sake of it and not reading. Other "women" requirements do not bother me. I could honestly care less. Hence why I said to each their own 😊 have a good one ma'am!

    Look Tony Ily & you got wisdom for dayzzzz & I appreciate that and your humor so much. I see your perspective but what came to my mind is when men put so much emphasis on looks no one is telling them to lower their standards. It's a norm for men to be " visual" or whatever. So just as they want beautiful women we want financially secure men. Society is structured in a way to critique women's wants and try to humble us but give men an easy pass. Yes some ladies take it to the extreme with their demands but the truth is men just can't keep up so were forced to settle. I agree w/ your point that we don't know what may happen in the future but that can also happen if you're already broke too... you could become broker. or brokest .. lol. My point is you can be financially secure today and have faith and put in the work so that it'll remain that way. They say choose someone for how they are when you meet them not for their "potential" .... or else if they don't end up leveling up like anticipated you may be left bitter. Ladies there's no need to lower your standards, we live once if you want a man for his money go get him. They don't hesitate to want us for how we look. Look at a lot of men they're so vain/ superficial quick to leave you for a younger cuter girl. SO be selfish ladies do as you please... If they're unwilling to settle, why should we ? They're visual & we're "bank"tual... TF lol it has to be balanced sorry not sorry :) *sprinkle sprinkle* Ladies we're a laughing stock to most men we just believe anything they tell us.. if we all actually stood our ground collectively they would be at our feet. You have power mama just stay away from him. :)

    I just think it’s funny that men are asking women to lower their standards and help build a man but men won’t do the same. There are men right now who are millionaires and have a respectable stability in their life but will NEVER lower their standards to help build a woman. Plus, I feel like men and women date for good character but also for good benefits. If I’m going to date a man, he has to be useful just like I need to be useful to him. But in ALL aspects.

      More men have overlooked financial stability than women will if we are being honest. Culture also plays a huge role cos I'm a Nigerian and then men have been raised to handle the business while women handle the home front. it’s frustrating for me. I am 24. i work in finance, i have a degree, i put a lot of effort into my appearance, i go to gym 5x a week, i take care of my dog, pay for my own holidays, pay a mortgage, i have self respect and strong values, never been with a man in my life and get told all the time that i am beautiful. I want to give birth to children one day and be a wife. Why is me caring about what a man has got a bad thing? I DO IT ALL MYSELF ALREADY. All a man got to do is work, save, and get a haircut every two weeks. I don’t care how men feel anymore because I need to sit here and accept their bad behavior in their past because they’re a man, I have to accept their flaws in their personality just because he can pay my bills, but they can’t accept any wrongdoing from a woman. I do not understand why this constantly has to be a conversation or lesson for women. Women who will date a guy regardless of what he has or where he’s at in life are everywhere. The woman who will date a guy only for money and throw character at the wind is not the majority. If a woman states she wants a man at a certain caliber, that doesn’t mean she is inherently saying character can be nonexistent. All women do is look for the good in men to a fault. Women should be encouraged to have standards and given examples of what those standards should look like. That’s all women need.

      Are you aware, ma'am that most men have been "marrying down" for centuries? They came with the money, 💲💰💵 property, their hard work, sacrifices, provided women with security and many times a "family name" which went and still does goes a very long way?
      Most black women have never married "below our stature" in life, at all. No, we normally marry "at our level" or slightly above our stature in life. The problem is most females are clueless about how men see us and judge us. What men think matters and always has mattered. In fact, most of us are clueless about what being "a wife" and being "a husband" even means because we haven't been afforded the opportunity of being reared in decent households with their mothers serving as "wives" to their husbands and their fathers serving as "husbands" to their wives. That's a huge problem. It's the major problem within and throughout the community today.
      Why? This demonic 👿 out-of-wedlock birth epidemic has decimated higher quality of both males and females in the community. So until the females, who are willingly participating in this foolery, begin to take accountability for our destructive and immoral behaviors and practices, which costs all of us, in the long run,....... and can humble themselves before God 🙏, the quality of the men and women will continue to deteriorate.
      Look around! Are you seeing God's 🙏 blessings throughout the community or God's 🙏 curses throughout the community? 🧐 We all reap what we sow. You sow good and godliness and you reap God's 🙏 blessings. You sow corruption and wickedness (anything against God's 🙏 Laws, Commandments) and you reap God's 🙏 curses. It's just that simple. Yet, think 🤔 they should be granted the very best man God 🙏 has to offer....which is why most black women never marry anyone. According to The U.S. Census Bureau, less than three out of ten of us (27%) are marrying.
      That's not God anywhere in those statistics so most don't have what they seek because they are not worthy of God's 🙏 best. It's simple as that!

    I would just like to point out that she is an attorney. I see nothing wrong with her wanting to marry a fellow attorney or physician or civil engineer. I feel frustrated that women are told on multiple occasions not to want what they want. I rarely hear that from men telling other men the same thing. It just feels like the woman who has sacrificed and did the work has to settle. Its very disheartening.
    I think Ms. Eboni has a bad attitude. If she can change her attitude and not come across as demanding, she will be okay. Since she is an attorney, she maybe argumentative. So that is not in her favor. She just needs to leave Eboni the attorney at work. She will be okay if she can figure that out!

    • @nashsis
      @nashsis ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Exactly. I think her attitude was the issue not her belief that she'd likely not be equally yoked with a blue collar worker.
      Most men do not have the maturity and self esteem to handle that large difference in truth.

    • @saltycat662
      @saltycat662 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because men don't think that way. Rich men don't have a problem marrying broke, uneducated women so they expect women to do the same. Except women aren't the ones who are supposed to provide so we don't work that way. So of course a woman is going to want a man who is equally yoked or better.

    • @tspell4340
      @tspell4340 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I agree, I feel like as women we must check our attitudes and how we come across to others. My mother always tell me, you can win more Bees with honey then you can with vinegar and my father has told me, baby why you so mean, after he has witnessed me dismiss a guy trying to talk to me. That was some years ago and I have since taken into account my attitude and my demeanor when I am dealing with others. I now realize that I can be a strong woman without the attitude. ❤

    This woman is a lawyer, she’s not an average person like myself. She has the pedigree to require what she wants. Will she get it?? That’s up for discussion. Now historically black women have naturally been providers. We’ve always had to hold onto our own back due to the lack of that very security most women are seeking. Yes character is important but how many men would be ok with their woman out earring them?? A broke person period is a liability. So if she does lower her standards and date down that could be detrimental to her mental wellbeing, health, and pockets. She’s within her rights to command what she wants in her life, but will she receive it?? Probably not. I pray she does but I get her point. But in the black families they push black girls to higher education while being soft on their boys and pushing them to be into sports or entertainment industry. Those same girl’s become those manly men in skirts as iyanla states, and in return have to save coddled young men that everyone has enabled.

    I feel like this is a nuanced situation. I’ve learned the most about relationships from TG’s videos and now I feel confident. I’ve seen a video from the past couple of years where Tony has said a different thing. But times change and sometimes the message changes. In general, I think black women are tired of being used by grown boys. Working, cleaning, cooking, sexing, taking care of children etc., while it seems like men just work.
    1. In one video Tony was warning women to be with someone in the same income bracket so we don’t get used. Great information because women are getting played left and right tryna build a man up, thinking they gone have a empire like J & B. People are often listing names like Mary J, Sherri, and Kelly C paying palimony.
    But, if you earn six figures and up that may be harder to find, so I think looking at character as currency is good advice but you should be building each other up as Tony said.
    At 40 plus, a lot of women are not willing to put in the a lot of energy on potential. Most of the time “potential” is a future fake to use you, but again that’s not a
    man of character.
    About a week ago I watched one of Tony’s videos. I can’t remember the name. He talked about how men want women for looks or money and how they are navy seals and deal with extreme sports so they can deal with a woman with a bad attitude. Essentially saying men don’t really car
    Sooo, this discussion about a bus driver really made me think. Character is currency for sure. If we are married we are supposed to build each other. And if I have substantially more, there will be a timeline for taking action for growth. Meaning, ain’t finna be no future faking. And a prenup will be in place.

    I think alot of the young women don't have men who have ambition and drive. We can't ignore the ratio, many of the "free" black men don't want to get married until they're 40 and 50's. To some ppl 100k is decent but how many bm are making this, based off ratio. There's many factors. Eboni is right, her delivery has been deflected. Black men can't stand when well to do women say I don't want you.... They leave the poor stuck....

    So men can have requests (sex, good looks, a supporter, a mother to their kids, susie home maker etc) but women are suppose to settle and live in struggle? Just because our needs/wants aren't the same as men doesn't make them less valid. Having character and being a decent person is the bare minumum and not enough to sustain a relationship.

      Facts! Sometimes the very thing we're looking for is right in front of us but we just can't get over one thing. Ain't nothing wrong with average as long as they ain't trying to spend up your money on foolishness. It's like nobody sees marriage as a team or something that can be built on; they want everything to be perfect and perfect is never going to happen and then it ends up failing. Why can't we learn from each other and grow instead of just being these over zealous professionals where everything has to be perfect? As a house cleaner I hear these types of stories and I'm just like dang people really do look down on those of us who do manual labor. Money really should not be everything in the pursuit of a relationship.

    I don’t believe your statement is always true, depending on the insecurity of a man they will try to get a trophy wife to make him look good & do whatever it takes to keep her because he cares more about the image. I’ve seen men I know with girls that they barely have anything in common, the girl is very superficial and boring but other men admire him because his woman is very beautiful, and he may be breaking the bank to be with her. But going on double dates and seeing how they barely interact & she’s just on her phone with a bad attitude, taking selfies, it shows me all I need to know. But there’s A LOT of men like this not respecting themselves cuz they want a hot girlfriend. But men like Tony I agree they wouldn’t stand for that
