What I love about epoxying countertops it that if you mess up, you can go right over it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you can probably do it 3-4 times before you reach the price of new table top, and everytime you do it, it makes the countertop stronger. I plan on doing my mother-in-law's countertops and can't wait!
Thanks bud!!! Let me know if you have any questions or feedback. I'm always open to hearing what people think and really appreciate it! You're the best :)
I'd LOVE to see you recreate an amethyst tabletop! I have an old dining table that I thrifted in college (for $10!) with a worn wood surface, and I dream of making it look like amethyst
This turned out FANTASTIC! How about some purple, green, copper and ghost blue with a little diamond dust. Thanks for all the helpful tips. Please keep the videos coming.
That is beautiful. That is exactly the dirty pour I want to do only in earth tones browns, bronze copper, beige and the whites. I just love the big puddles of white. I would like to see that. Great job!!!
It's hard to see on video how cool the blobs of white look too! That skim milk and whole milk having the white be different levels of opacity was key! Adding some diamond dust would have been a nice touch to the white looking back at the project! Thanks for watching
That is beautiful. You have a great idea too. I need to practice on something before doing my countertops, so this just may be the perfect way to practice first.
Love that color scheme!! 💙 I've never seen that before! Thank you for the natural granite slab picture!! 🤗 Would love to see you do an extra piece of something, like a lazy Susan, with the remaining epoxy!! 👍 A lazy Susan to match the counter would be cool!!😎
Wow!! This is so gorgeous!! I am designing my kitchen in all while, gold, and copper. I would love to see all shades of whites, tans, golds, and bronzes in different shades & depths! I’m definitely into diamond dust and even wanting to add a clear wave level of copper flakes!! 🤩
Hold on a minute, the picture of the Kitchen that you showed on Cherry Cabinets with the Van Gogh counters , I fabbed and installed that Kitchen , how did you get the pics of that.??
I love, love this look, and it is exactly what I want to do for my basement bar area. I am not able to find Royal Blue…has that color become unavailable. Also, how much of the powder do you put in each one of your cups?
Royal blue should still be available. I used a couple tablespoons per 16oz cup, just enough make the epoxy opaque. U can mix some of the powders to make any shade of blue u want
Thanks for stopping by! I'm excited to share my latest project with you all. It's been a long time coming and I can't wait to hear your feedback. I hope it resonates with you the same way it did for me while creating it!
@@StoneCoatCountertops , Yes, my kitchen counters. Thinking about doing all the cabinet doors and drawers fronts in a solid color with epoxy finish too. Has to be green tones. That's the plan anyway, done by the end of summer.
I’m curious what the durability of that is having gone on over a laminate table? Is there worry of laminate being too weak? If I wanted to do this and make something that will last decades what would you say is the best under surface to do it on?
Very durable when best practices on prepping the laminate is followed. 1. clean grease and grime with TSP 2. fill laminate seams and chips with all purpose bondo 3. Sand surface and edges with 180 grit sandpaper 4. Apply 2 *THIN* coats of Stone Coat Bonding Primer 5. Apply 2 thin coats of epoxy undercoat in your color of choice 6. Ready for the epoxy coat
Make a video on how to do a floor with like this. I don't want a metallic floor, I want a design with an exotic pour. Can this be one on a floor? Metallic in the floor, but not just metalic.
This is an epic idea!!!! Do you have a floor I can do this on? I have a gray floor I did using dyes and metallics! It turned out super good, that tutorial is dropping soon, be sure to subscribe so you don't miss that video
Great question, whenever epoxy hits a sharp 90 degree edge the epoxy will build up like a speed bump. Round over with 1/8'' to 1/4'' roundover bit on any sharp 90 that will eliminate the build-up. That goes for the top and bottom edge. Lemme know if you have any other questions
@@StoneCoatCountertops Thanks, I sanded the edge a little to round it off some but it was very little, looks like more is better. 👍. I’ll be ordering a beach waves kit someday!
@@StoneCoatCountertops My In-laws are turning their garage into a living space and I have been looking into Epoxy flooring solutions and they wanted something like a blue marble. This is a perfect match.
