The Disturbing Case Of Alex Murdaugh

  • This disturbing case of betrayal, greed, and an unquenchable thirst for power started in the summer of 2021 in Hampton, South Carolina, USA. A young man and a middle-aged woman were gunned down by an unknown assailant. The police made no arrests, how could they? Officially there weren’t any suspects. Strangely, the only statement law enforcement made was that they were confident there was no risk to the public. But why were they so confident? Did they have their own suspicions? This tale of deceit is like nothing else you will have heard before.

    Thank you for breaking this case down and FINALLY giving us a verdict. So many Crime Channels were so thirsty to release an incomplete video with false promises of updates that never happened. When I saw you doing it, I knew it would be done right! 👏🏾 great job.

      Pa pa is gone.. An eye for an eye doing that to Mallory Beach without an ounce of remorse. Maggie should've left years ago. I followed every 2nd of the Mallory true crime videos. Before the slayings took place then watched every 2nd of the trial. Now he might get a new trial. If he does hopefully he'll say the persons name who helped slay his family. Just looking at Alexes beady little eyes people should've known he was untrustworthy. Snotting himself on the stand. The family photo reminds me of the Munsters

      how is it impartial when he labels paul as being 100% the driver in the boating accident yet he was only charged (not convicted) so he can’t be named as 100% the driver because he never went to trial for it! there are also multiple inconsistencies in the other survivors stories (including their “alex tried to brainwash/manipulate us into saying it wasn’t paul” fable). literally read any deposition from the kids/police from that night instead of regurgitating nonsense from a netflix documentary and it becomes abundantly clear that we genuinely have no idea who was driving the boat because those kids lied and omitted information so much. connor could have been the driver just as much as paul but y’all would rather stick to “all murdaugh’s are bad and terrible and evil” because it makes for a ‘better, cohesive story’ or whatever. fuck outta here with that bs

I’m glad you took your time and did your homework. Blew everyone else out of the water, even the documentaries. Even if they somehow are able to miraculously overturn the murder verdict, it won’t make a damn days difference. I really hope they televise the trial for his financial crimes and fraud. Beaufort, NC is pronounced Bowfort-long ‘o.’ Two different cities, two different states, two different pronunciations, but named after the same guy. You used the North Carolina pronunciation. Also, by SC law, all civil cases must attempt mediation before being allowed to go to court, so it was not an unusual requirement by the judge.

      @@abbatrouble yeah Stephen was a male gay prostitute on Craigslist - dude was doing some super risky stuff so a lot higher chance his death was related to that rather than Buster. But Buster did come off like a psychopath on the stand so who knows - you’d think you would show at least some emotion on the stand during the trial of your father who is accused of murdering your mom and little brother… but he was cold as ice

      I watched docus about Stephen's death and based on the known facts it seemed like there are no evidence to link Buster to his death. all they had was a rumor and it was unclear who spread it. it's a typical he said she said. There are currently 3 people who are more likely to be his killer than Buster.

    Character is destiny. You can look at someone's character and see what trajectory they are on and predict where that will take them. Very early on when the parents enabled Paul to drink, that was leading to trouble all by itself. The core of the problem though was that everyone in this family felt like they were above the rules and conventions the rest of society is expected to follow and that's a recipe for a bad end. It worked for a while by help from equally corrupt people in power, but once things went out of control, no more cover-ups were possible.

    I just found this channel and I'm very impressed with it, I love the narration as well as the voiced used for it. Not to mention the structure of your videos and how they are handled. So many true crime channels make their videos way too long, and within a reasonably timed video you law out all the facts and actions of the crime. It makes the videos very digestible, and I cant wait to see what crime you cover next

      His family’s reputation in the area spans back many generations. The wife and son were about to ruin it. Paul was a mess, he’d killed the girl on the boat, he was basically an alcoholic and always getting into trouble. Maggie was preparing to divorce Alex and was also discovering all his financial crimes. Things were falling apart and I think he killed them to save his name and the Murdaugh name more generally

    No guns taken from the property was used in the murders. The Blackout rifle and the Binelli shotgun are still missing. The Blackout casings at the crime scene matched casings in the yard at the house and that's how they determined that the family guns had been used. They were identified by the matching casings. The actual weapons have never been recovered.

    Excellent, excellent compilation of such a convoluted case!!! I had given up trying to understand the complexities of Murdaugh's story in its entirety, but you presented it in art form lolol. My only question is that although I am nowhere near educated enough on the repercussions for withholding incriminating evidence to the police, lawyers, etc.; however, surely the prosecuting lawyer's actions must have appeared suspect when he recused himself (and I realize your theory that he may have known something damning was speculation). But what about obstructing justice, wouldn't he be investigated for at least that charge?

    • @catdooley4616
      @catdooley4616 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, during the beginning of the investigation for all he knew it could have been anyone. Once he was told that the investigation was leaning towards someone he knew he recused himself. If he had stayed on the case, despite who was being investigated and his relationship with him the accused then that would have been wrong. So he did not do anything wrong to recuse himself.

    The motive.
    The youngest child is reckless. He hates that. The wife is too easy on the kids. Which caused the youngest child’s behavior to get out of control.
    I bet dad didn’t want his kids drinking and partying. Then the girl dies. He wants to punish the kid, mom won’t let him.
    In other words, they probably had a difference of parenting styles which in turn damaged the their marriage. With the wedge digging in deeper as time went on.
    They’re what kinda people? Rich, famous, in the spot light and media attention. Divorce is not an option. It’ll ruin the reputation of the family name.
    There’s your motive. Why are motives so hard for people to figure out? Dig in that direction and I bet I have the right idea.

    • @cheeriosforhonkies8867
      @cheeriosforhonkies8867 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The wife wanted a divorce.
      Alex was a drug addict.
      She hired a specialized accountant (forensic) to examine their financials
      He was a thief and knew this was BAD and he was busted
      He panicked
      THAT is the motive .
      They were BOTH shitty parents. Neither more lenient that the other. You can’t be a solid parent when your popping oxycodone and running defense trying to keep people from noticing you’re stealing their money.
