First time seeing this November 14 2024… I built this kit when it first came out / released… I have one in the stash now !!!! The S A S was always an interesting History topic… Some great documentaries about the unit… ( the first elite unit of warriors ) I found some Photo Etch from EDUARD, made specifically for the TAMIYA S A S Jeep… This is one of my favorite TAMIYA KITS… You motivated me, I think I’ll get mine out of the stash … Enjoyed watching this, I’ll probably watch this again…….. GREAT JOB !!!!!!!!!! CHRIS from OHIO 🇺🇸
Great build, you should do some research on colours for your accessories, etc before paint, ie the machine gun magazines should not be silver, they are same colour as gun. Same with straps, canvas straps were mostly used as leather deteriorates quickly in inhospitable places. Something to think about.
Hiya thanks for watching. It's a good point, as I said in the video I like to get a bit creative with the colours, while not stricyly accurate, I change a little just to add some difference or catch the eye
Interesting build. I have the kit in my stash and am in the final stages of building an Italeri Wiilys jeep, which is quite similar. I notice that you use the Contacta solvent directly over painted parts: do you experience any problems ? Also, I have had issues with Vallejo Model Colours not adhering well, especially lifting off if I have to use even low tack masking tape over them. Have you experienced that ? The Tamiya acrylics seem much better in that respect, although you do need to use their thinners, or something like Mr Hobby. Best wishes.
Nice job , straight from the box ! . But ... Tamiya's fuel cans ( jerrycans ) are incorrect ( old molds ) , because have two handles ! . ( Friendly advice ) You replaced them by aftermarket ones ( AFV's , MINIART's or 3D's ) , same the wheels by DEF MODELS ( sas military or civilian type ) .
Hi boss all Tamiya paints come out super fine but I would still drop a little thinner in them just to be on the safe that chrome and silver comes out beautifuly :) you but if you want it super shiny you’ll need a close cote down before the main colour.
Turned out really nice.

Thank you 🙏
Yeah I keep all leftover bits in a big tin, I even keep some plastic sprues good for melting down to make stuff for dioramas
haha so I'm not crazy then! My box of bits is really handy!!
Cool 👍
@@goforitpainting thank you 🙏

👍👍👍
Their Dragon 1/35 one and Iterali 1/3 SAS jeep to compare to Tamiya one.

I’ll go for a bit of accuracy on my next one. Thanks for watching and thank you for the info 🙏👍
Top job, that looks sooo good. What paint brushes are you using?
Thank you! Generally I use Daler Rowney Graduate, and occasionally for really fine lines, the brush that comes woth Airfix stater kits haha

Unfortunately Tamiya paints aren’t very goood at painting large subjects but smaller areas there perfect for detail work
@@duncanling2127 great info buddy thank you very much!!
