Wonderful job nicely done. Don't know if it's the camera or the lights but just a bit too glossy, otherwise it's truly a wonderful job.
@@hoganshero19 I think it’s because it’s my first go with gloss finish and I went a bit mental 😂
Full Step By Step Build linked in Comments 🤟
Yeah Super Glue 👌🏻 MAKES MIRACLES 😂
@@AkiAmiMasen wouldn’t model Without it 😂😂
Finally got round to watching this one. Another great piece well done. Nice to see a shiny new one! Top job 👍
Thank you buddy 🙏
Very good job 👍
Thank you 🙏
Classic Tamiya kit, one of their best and can be bought very cheaply too, The SAS Jeep is also a great kit 👍
Thanks gif watching.. agreed, great kits.. I did the jeep not long ago it was fantastic 👍
Cool!!
Thank you 🙏
I actually like the instructions on the screen.
Great work, keep them coming 👍
You keep watching Trevor, I’ll keep making them 👍 thanks buddy
Good job Andy !
Thank you Mark!!
Great build 😊
Thank you! 😁
Looking good 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
The detail is amazing!
Thank you Numpf x
Excellent work, I have this kit but I’m new to model building. What shade of green did you go for & what was that pen thing you used for the metal detailing?👍
Hello bud! First thanks for watching. If you could check the full build video on my channel, not sure what you mean about the pen.. I thought I used only brushes but I get into the zone a bit 😂 the colour I used was Vallejo model colour “intermediate green”👍👍👍
Terrific job, especially on Thunderbird 4! I'm fighting with the Bandai Thunderbird 2 right now, nowhere near as detailed as that AIP one. Trying to do it as a Royal Canadian Air Force example, with the old white top, silver bottom, and lightning stripe. Dave Bailey
Thank you 🙏 it was a stretch for my old eyes 👀 good luck with yours.. if you’re on Facebook you might consider popping over to my group, scale modeling for everyone.. share your work? There is about 600 of us now 👍
Man, TB4 was tiny compared to TB2.
I know right! Tested my old eyes 👀 that did 😂
Well-done.
Thank you 🙏 and thanks for watching
Uwielbiam Twój sposób budowania modeli. Często korzystam z Twoich technik. Udowodniłeś że owiewkę kabiny pilota można pomalować bez użycia gotowych masek. Model wygląda wspaniale. Dziękuję i pozdrawiam.😊
Thank you very much!! The whole reason I do this is to hear feedback like that!! 🙏🙏🙏
Aoshima really hit the mark with the Thunderbird kit line. It helps that they know cars and ships.
Agreed. These kits are fantastic 👍
Thunderbirds are go!
😂👍👍👍👍
Not bad at all looks great, I have the clear version of this kit it's got a lot more parts just plucking up the courage to do it, and again nice build my friend.
Thank you 🙏 I hope you enjoy your build. Thanks for watching
Just started model building last year & I have this kit, your video is going to be a big help when I get round to completing T2. Awesome work also on the small T4!
Thank you 🙏 I’ve been going just about a year too! Thanks for watching
Love what you've done here. I built the mole in the bigger scale. One small thing. I don't think you need the music in the background. I would prefer to just listen to your commentary.
@@colinpragg2686 thank you for watching and I’ll take that on board 👍👍👍 cheers
Good Job Rick. Yes, these kits could be cheaper (especially TB5) but let's be honest, they're quite accurate and light years ahead of those horrible IMAI kits imported into the UK in the 90s (and which are clogging up my loft). Well done Aoshima (now can we have similar for Captain Scarlet and Stingray) for releasing them and well done Bachmann for importing them!
I couldn’t agree more. Great kits. I’d love to see captain scarlet and stingray models!!
Good build. I use enamel paints, could never finish it in 8 hours!
@@jeremyhards1911 I do like enamel and use it on some builds.. but it does come with a pro and con list haha. Thanks for watching 👍
I also use enamel paints and I don't even use an airbrush, yet I've finished some small models like this one in a couple of days.
@ good work. Hope to see the Spitfire built too.
Thank you 🙏 hoping to have the Spit done this weekend 👍👍
Got this about 9 months ago, you have inspired me! How come you brush painted the excavator, but airbrushed Bird 4?
Excellent! Simply put, I like to keep my hand in with brush painting.. no other reason than that really 👍 thank you for watching 👍👍👍
I have that kit and you have motivated me to get started on it - AWESOME
@@richardgetty4848 fantastic!! Good luck 👍
Good build/paint video!! I remember as a kid during the 1970s I had a various armies of those little soldiers. Had American, British, German, and Soviet. Japanese were hard to find for whatever reason. They came in great for the HO scale trin set my mother would place under the Christmas tree every year and her little village display. I made a diorama one year for school using these dudes from a photo I saw in a book once - definitely nothing to brag about and looked like something an elephant would drop from its rear end, but got the job done.
Thank you very much for watching! I had a load of them too in the 70's.. they ended up in and on everything haha
Loved Thunderbirds..
Same here
Thunderbirds are go!! Nice build!
Thanks 👍
Good build/paint video!! Have built this kit numerous times from the 1990s to present and it reallyis a good kit for its age. Yep - this kit originally came with a small motor and batteries - thus the obvious bracket in the hull. the holes in the bottom of the hull was for the ON/OFF switch to stick out of. The top hull was designed to SNAP ON/OFF so you could access the batteries and motor. If the motor worked like it should, the tank was capable of moving on its own but only in a straight line. I have built a few Tamiya kits with that little motor, but they NEVER worked for me!!! UHG!! Still can find the older kits with the motors in them but they usually want some crazy price for them. There is a hobby shop in the Indianapolis, Indiana area that specializes in these older kits and the owner just gets crazy with the prices.
Thank you so much for the information! I knew there would be a knowledgeable person out there who could fill me in. Great info and thank you for watching!
@@lowrentrick No problem!! Most of the Tamiya kits from the 1960s. 1970s, and into about the mid-1980s will have those brackets/mounts in them. Think Tamiya stopped doing that maybe early 1990s - maybe some else that reads this can give better details on dates. Also, there was a little "controversy" about the Tamiya models not being TRUE 1'35 scale for some of those kits were just a bit too wide/high in order to accommodate the batteries/motor. A few years ago, Tamiya put a motor in their WW1 version of their British Mark IV tank. And, if you are interested in building Tamiya 1'350 scale ships, they used to do the same thing with those kits as well. Have bought Tamiya version of Bismark, Missouri, King George V, and others and they all had the motor/battery bracket mounts, + came with metal shafts for the propellers. Do remember getting a few motors in ship kits but never bothered trying to put them into action, especially since the ship can only go in one direction, + you had to remove the entire deck in order to gain access to the motor/battery compartment.
I liked your build. In the old days, there was no sure way to prevent silvering, so the pro tip was to trim decals very close to the design. I would usually separate those four pieces of the upper wing crosses and apply them individually. Nowadays decals and setting aids are better. You did a nice job hand painting that canopy frame. I think more modelers should do that and wean themselves from relying on aftermarket mask sets.
This is great information thank you! I agree, the tough stuff is what I want to get really good at, and the only way to do it, is to do it! thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
an airbrush should be cleaned by blowing water then thinners through it after every use and the needle removed and cleaned.
Agree with the blow through, not many have the time or inclination to strip out the needle after every use. This video is for them I guess.
no. it shouldn't 😄😄😄
you should not let your airbrush get that dirty you are causing yourself more problems than enough.
Each time you use it it's "dirty", don't think this one was excessive.. maybe had five colours go through, blown out each time..
try cleaning it after every use by blowing thinners through .you should not let an airbrush get that dirty you fool.
@@aldersmith hi. As I said in the video, this was allowed to get this way to show that it can easily be deep cleaned 👍 also I use IPA as a post use rinse through.
If you're having trouble with silvering, put some clear gloss on the area that you know the details going this will help prevent silvering, and then you can go back over it with a matte finish
This is great advice thank you very much!!
There’s always method to the madness lol I always make a mess with a kit If I paint them on the sprues
Haha I tend to make a bloody mess anyway 😂
I've used Dettol on and off for years to strip paint from models, but never thought of using it as a deep clean chemical. Thanks for the idea Rick.
you are very welcome
Cool 👍
Hello. I bought the whole kit, but the airbrush did not last too much. Where can I get just airbrushes without buying the compressor again? Thank you!
hello matey, Amazon is usually my go to.. there's a ton of choice on there.
AK do a tyre black Sharpie especially for the wheels and little detail bits. I've got this model in my stash and looking forward to building it. Might even have a go at your cammo technique. Great work 👏
Thank you!! And thank you for the info I’ll check out the AK pen!
Good video pal 👍
Thanks 👍
I got a Border models 1/35 FW190 and its a lovely kit. So is the Meng 35th AH64 Apache i got from Temu. I've got loads of airbrushes from them and they all work as advertised including the all in ones though you won't be painting German mottle camo with the all in ones. The other airbrushes are fine though.
Hi. Yes I agree that there is stuff to find in TEMU.. all my disposable paint supplies come that way.. I’ve had a rechargeable airbrush too which is fine. I’m definitely going to try some more models.. thank you for taking the time to share info 👍👍
Same as you. I got some acyclic paints, a set of 24, and they spray really nice although the colours will be only good for cars and motorcycles.
Hello. First of all, thank you very much for making this video. I learned a lot and realized that I was doing some things wrong: 1) I didn't paint the ship's draft black because I thought the color in the kit was enough. 2) I believed that the objects on the deck (benches, mooring points, walls) shouldn't be painted, but that's almost impossible, even with a zero-brush. I liked that you painted them all the same ochre color. 3) The biggest difficulty is not filling the little windows on the upper part of the hull with white paint, but I noticed that you also had the same problem. I don't know how to solve it.
Hi. This was one of my very first videos.. thank you very much for watching. I’ve learned so much since then and I’m very keen to give Titanic another shot to see if I can make a better job if it!
Another satisfying watch. How is it that I find your videos so therapeutic! Nice to see a different variant on the colour scheme. Keep them coming 👍
This really made me happy thank you so much. It’s the whole reason I started these videos. I will indeed keep them coming. Thank you again! 🙏🙏
9 pounds seems like a ripoff. I've bought the "real" Trumpeter kit for a third of that price from a legit online modelling shop!
@@Starfishscalemodeling yea it seemed like lot while I was building it 😂😂😂
Yeah this does not seem like a legit Trumpeter kit. Its likely a Teemuteer unless its an extremely old kit but i doubt it
@@tefras14 I was starting to think the same…
I really like Trumpeter kits the moldings are good, the fit is usually spot on, there have been issues with accuracy on some kits. My only issue is the decals, they are very fragile. TBH that doesn't look like ant Trumpeter kit I have ever built, it may be 'hookey'
Yea I agree, may say Trumpeter on the box nut it's not coming from a place that's exatly known for adherence to copyright haha Thanks for watching.
Not finished the video yet but had to smile seeing the old Humbrol enamel tinlets, bought back memories of my youth (im 62) slapping paint on an Airfix kit. Still got a box in my garage full of them.
Haha I’m glad it stirred a good memory for you!!
i have had this kit for quite a few years now and i would like to make it but my skill level is not good enough. also the only place i have to build kits in is my dark , damp dingy shed.
@@davidsirett5560 ah. The shed isn’t ideal.. sorry you don’t have a better space. The kit has a few small fit issues.. but I’d encourage you to have a crack at it 👍👍
