I think the Skinners did kill the Atheletic team. Rockstar probably just reused the visual assets for the shack.
The newspaper that tells you the Blackwater athletics team is missing is the same one that reports Arthur and Sadie breaking John out of prison meaning they must've gone missing in 1899 and the Skinner's weren't in tall trees at that point

The fact that you effectively goof on the killer is probably my favorite part about this. Instead of finding some clever or witty way of escaping or brute forcing your way out, you just chuck a head at him and KO him in one go. Just goes to show that serial killers are really not as intimidating as their projected persona would imply - that and the fact that he likely only preyed on the weak or defenseless and Arthur/John are neither.

Yeah the guy liked to ambush farmers and shit, fucking with a gunslinger like Arthur Morgan who probably killed more people just that morning (people who were shooting back) than Lowry had in his whole murder career was a serious mistake.
He fucked up by engaging Arthur/John. Should have just kept his distance and let them go. Would have had to leave though since the police would have checked it.

I wanted to see what would happen if you don't help the sheriff when Lowry attacks him. It turns out the sheriff just shoots him and he doesn't give you a reward for being a bastard.
I accidentally didn’t help him my first run through. I was trying to lasso Lowry so I could watch him hang later and although he flipped off of the sheriff, he shot Lowry anyway

I don’t know whats more scary about RDR2:
1. The Brutal Gangs and the serial killers
2. The writers, animators, and designers who have to think and create the gangs and individuals
3. Or the accuracy of some of the interals and gore within the game

These use real life events from the times as inspiration so it’s not like they just come up with all of this from scratch
I always found it funny that I’d go from burning 30 people alive out in the frontier to go and capture a serial killer because he killed a few people
The black water athletic team pit thing always just kinda stuck with me. None of the other murders or Easter eggs really made me have like a shocked reaction. But seeing that pit of bodies in the woods..
It just felt real. The other murders were over the top and insane, but the pit of corpses just felt like some shit that would really happen.

@@actualchannel4766 The serial killer Edmund Kemper murdered several young women and committed necrophilia with their bodies. His last victim was his mother and he did the same with her. If his name is a reference to Edmund Kemper the fact that he is only really close with his mother is a bit telling.
I always thought that Edward Lowry (RDR2) was the ancestor of "Eddie Lowe"(GTA4)... they're both serial killers, crazy as shit, and their names are too similar. Last names are or at least were shortened a lot, back of the day. I haven't looked up in years, but when I did, I couldn't find much on it, but the fact that they both have a very similar names, are both serial killers, and supposedly in the same universe, etc, idk how it's not addressed more.

RDR and GTA are not in the same universe and Edmund couldn't have had any descendants, he didn't even have a wife. It's just a nod.

Way too many references to the games to not be. From the RDR Book by J Marston in GTA V to Francis having the same birthmark signaling being related to Kraff (Epsilon Program)
@@jakewitherow4282 well one of the most obvious reasons is that New York is mentioned in RDR, while in GTA it's Liberty City. California is also mentioned in RDR, while in GTA it's San Andreas. Obviously these can't coexist. The book by J Marston is nothing more than an easter egg/reference. GTA V makes references to GTA San Andreas too even though those two also are not in the same universe.

That one live member of the team is the basis for a tragic horror movie.
He's kidnapped alongside his friends, one by one they all die, and he himself is also harmed but isn't killed.
Traumatized, he silently walks through the wilderness in shock, only for a creeped out cowboy to shoot him down.
Perfect dark horror movie ending.

GTA online you need to do the LS Slasher stuff and you get it when killing the slasher

I had my gun out, crouching, and knew that when I inspected the knife, he would show up the first time (for whatever reason I loaded a save). It's the video game version of watching someone hear a noise and go out solo and weaponless to investigate
I was playing RDRO with my buddies. I tracked a buck to a mysterious Bunker outside Valentine and thought "Oh cool! A new place to explore!"
How my joy soon turned to horror.

Loving these videos. I'm just now realizing how detailed this game is. I was hunting elk for cripps yesterday, aimed for the head but I missed. My arrow hit the elks antler, and the antler went flying whilst the elk was unharmed. Phenomenal game.
ive never heard anyone mention this before but recently i was riding around and i went through a train tunnel, the small one where the first train robbery takes place in chapter 1 by Wallace station, and there was writing on the wall that says 'I seek and i find'. I believe it is a cheat code but it is also in the same hand writing and white paint as Edmund's cryptic words across the map.
There's a mine not far from there that has another cheat code. I think it was the one to get drunk.

I could've done this with Arthur but didn't find the paper on the one near valentine so when I found it later as John, he wrote in the journal something like 'this is probably related with the two bodies Arthur found years ago' which I find is a nice little detail.

i knew there had to be a story to that celler, never came across it in story mode, but me and a bud found it online, saved it as a location, only for the lowry gun to be found there from gta. such a sick game with all it has hidden around the story for you to find out, love how we are still finding stuff years later

I don't know if anyone's mentioned this, but...
Whilst doing the 'Edmund Lowery's serial killer mission in chapter 2, I found a nice little glitch that allows you to enter Blackwater without any Pinkerton's/sniper, or a 'wanted' level.
This allows you to get the "Legendary Rock Bass" fish ('Aurora Basin' lake area)..
When you have overpowered him, hogtie and put him on your horse, but instead of taking him directly to the sheriff of Valentine you can enter Blackwater - You aren't on a timer to do this, and this little gameplay glitch allows you to freely enter Blackwater.
The bad things are, you can't collect herbs/plants (no good for the Herbalist challenge), and you can't get the legendary animals as you get shot to $#!t as soon as you try to enter the New Austin region.
It's no big deal, but it's worth doing if you want to easily get one more of the 'legendary fish'..
For the other stuff you would most likely need to use the 'buggy' glitch.
Just thought I'd let people know of my little find.

This dude knocks you out then doesn't tie you up, doesn't take away your guns and you decide to throw a head at him. I was so distracted by the dumbness of the situation I couldn't listen to what the guy was monologuing.
I remember finding the first clues near Valentine. The blood on the floor, hanging body and stuff. I wss so convinced that someone would walk past and would blame me xD
i remember in my first play through is was going to valentine through the train tracks when i heard screaming and i saw the icon then i went down and saw the mutilated torso

Last night before I went to bed I restarted my playthrough of rdr2 and im in chapter 2 rn, before I went to bed I stumbled upon the clue outside of valentine. Now I see this video popped up, crazy 😳
You should do some videos for RDR Undead Nightmare stranger missions or profiles on different zombies, maybe the four horses of the apocalypse, prominent missing souls and maybe profiles on the mythical creatures.

I always find it ironic how they have serial killers in games like these when we you the player have killed dozens if not hundreds of people in sadistic and grotesque ways but there's a guy that killed maybe 6 people and hung their bodies up and has a some skills in a cellar making them way worse then us for some reason. Always gives me a laugh.
You don't kill for joy or entertainment, you do it as a means to an end. This isn't a justification for the killing Arthur & the rest of the gang does, but it is done in an entirely different context.
They shoot fellers as need shootin', save fellers as need savin', and feed fellers as need feedin'. We can go on all day about how they don't get to decide who needs what, but the only one who seems to take pleasure in it is Micah and specifically Bill when fucking with Kieran.

I just realized something in the valentine curse we hear about people hearing screaming around valentine and Edmund’s hideout were he probably kills people horribly is just outside of valentine
Also in online, in gta online you can do the easter egg hunt for his revolver which is unlocked for his revolver in both gta online and rdo. Kinda of like Arthur's double action revolver in gta online and rdr2 story.
Funny thing, I stumbled about his shack as a "question mark" on the map long after finishing the map to find the killer, and it turned out this was the guy, although I did it with Arthur not as John

I don't know if you have covered this already but there is a house in lemoyne to the northeast of braithwaite manor where you can find a small place that was used for slave holding. you can inspect a floorboard where a picture of an African-american family of three is hidden and on a table nearby is a newspaper scrap advertising a 200 dollar reward for the return of a slave boy named Curtis Royle. the article says to return him to either the Rhodes jailhouse or the slave owner's property at shady belle. the man advertising is named Joseph Charlesworth.

That ties in with a stranger mission where Arthur is asked to find some old junk belonging to a cranky old dude in Lemoyne. As I recall it's a watch, a pistol and a ledger. Stop reading now to avoid a spoiler.
The cranky old dude you find the junk for turns out to have been a slave-hunter. The ledger lists escaped slaves he captured and turned in. He's all bitter because losing the war put him out of a job.

Athletic team is found in new Austin but if you kill Ed as Authur he couldn’t have killed them since they would’ve decomposed by the time John gets there
if you toss some dynamite or a fire bottle into the very back room where he attacks Edmund will appear in the cutscene with damage fitting for whatever you throw back there!
doesn't change anything, I just wanted to see if I could find where was hiding or at least see him before triggering the cutscene, you cant see him but you look closely you'll see a semi hidden access point to yet another room that you cannot access.
you can also apparently find mention of Charlotte and evidence that Edmund was captivated by her and planned on killing her.

@@BellaVita1890 Charlotte is the widow who lives up north of Annesburg.
There's also a creepy guy who camps out on the plains southeast of Emerald Station; he has a bunch of nude paintings in his tent for some reason. If you speak with him as Arthur he'll tell you about the widow and how he's been spying on her and wants her for himself.
I always kill the weird bastard, and he re-spawns several times.

@@BellaVita1890 I don't remember him respawning years ago, but I did another playthrough about six months ago and killed that same guy three times.
The rapist in the swamp came back to life too, but he just stayed locked in his cabin so I couldn't kill him again.
