    Worth adding:
    There’s always a torque sequence for valve covers and plastic/aluminum components.
    If you’re ever uncertain (or don’t have the FSM available)…
    Start from the inside locations and move back and forth across, fanning outward along the perimeter.
    OP here used an air ratchet and ran the bolts down in a sequential perimeter.
    This can lead to flexing or distortion of the valve cover, and possible damage.
    At minimum… A failure to fully seal the perimeter of the cylinder head.
    Final torque is around 7lb/ft or 86inch pounds. Follow the sequence described above to get it right.
    Viewers need to know this. (No guessing)
    Hope this helps some fellow Honda owners.
    Cheers. 🍻

    I've been jumping between 3 different videos trying to figure out how to get this done and what tools Id need to do it. I even ended up with the full gasket set instead of just the gasket and o-ring. I wish I would've came across this video a week or two ago. Yours is the only one that actually shows how to get those clips out. Thank you!

    I’ve watched many videos on how to replace a valve cover gasket. This is the clearest and simplest one. Great job and hopefully you can do one on how to replace an alternator on the newer Hondas like 2015- present.

    Hello, thank you for the video. I did have one question, the black plastic cover dressing, over the coils has two stripped screws. My question is, what do you think is the best route for me to take that off. I planned on just replacing the whole valve cover, but of course i need that cover to be off in order to access the plugs and sensors. Thanks again.

    There are 2 different valve covers for those vehicles. The one with the replaceable tube seals and the one without. It's crazy because I'm a Honda Tech (was from 01-06 then a shop owner from 06-now) and I don't understand how they did this. It doesn't matter if it's a LX, EX, or Sport. I have seen 14 accord and 15 Accords with both. Once you are in the Honda parts catalog using the Vin you can't choose the tube seals for the ones that aren't replaceable.... but once you have a vin that the tube seals are replaceable and choose the entire valve cover the part number switch to the one with the non replaceable tube seals (12310-RDF-A01) I think the are interchangeable but I'm not sure

      I have the built in type, I found the gasket but cant find the little square looking one for the inside. Can I use silicone like this guy or is it crucial to replace? Also, should I just replace the vtec solenoid gasket while I’m at it?

    • @jameswashington8593
      @jameswashington8593 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Abel GomezJr just get the gasket from honda the part number should be 123425A2A01. Just take you vin number and have them look it up. That small gasket is like $2.00 from Honda. Don't worry about the Vtec solenoid unless it is leaking. If it's leaking just replace the VTEC Solenoid gasket and orings.

    I did this once a couple years ago and it’s almost looking like I see a little oil around the gasket already. It’s a very small amount us that just normal or do I have another leak?

    So I need this done on my honda accord. I'm not a car guy, not gonna lie, watched half the video thinking I could do this, saved it to watch later. Just watched it, and not super sure I should do this myself. Honda wanted $333 to fix the leak, the guy recomended a valve "adjustmet" for $399 or some sort of bull shit that didn't sound like a replacement. Do you know what they mean by that? Not even sure what the first thing they were recommending was. Is this something that I could take to just a regular shop, or should I just trust honda?

    • @richardfabrizio8998
      @richardfabrizio8998 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Valve adjustment at 110,000 miles so if your car has that many miles do it. That’s not a rip off
