Great video, nobody on TH-cam goes in detail beyond Condesa, Roma, Polanco. 🎉🇲🇽
Totally agree!
I love that you used visuals in this video from one educator to another❤️
I learned a lot from your video. I would like to visit CDMX for sure.
Thank you for promoting other neighborhoods than the expat bubbles and THANK YOU for disregarding the uncommon-sense, lazy minded, over-generalized "safe area" questions!
BEST VIDEO FOR TOURISTS WHO ACTUALLY WANT TO EXPERIENCE AUTHENTIC CULTURE and not just have a Disneyland experience of CDMX surrounded by other foreigners (Americans).
✌️ 👏👏👏🙌🙌🙌👏👏👏 👌
I just came back from CDMX and loved the visit. Your channel drew me to it. Thanks for doing what you do.
Awesome! Thank you!
I wasn’t considering cdmx but now I am!
Been waiting on this subject, YES! Absolutely brilliant and flawless breakdown. Soo many questions I've had were answered in this video. Killin it as usual
Thank you!
This was a re-watch from last year. Yep, you have made me consider CDMX and I will need to come visit this year. Although, FOR MY FIRST VISIT, I will be staying all in the expat bubble. 😂
Give yourself time to explore other areas if you can
@@AdaliaAborisade I did it!! This video peaked my curiosity last year & I finally made it to CDMX. Wow, what a city🤯. I didn’t visit all the colonia’s you recommended, I was being a tourist this time. I did go to 2 baseball games. Thanks for posting that video as well!! 👍🏾
Another excellent video! I can tell you're a seasoned teacher as you are so good and breaking things down in meaningful and useful ways! Thank you 😊
Great video, loved it. Just wanted to say that of course there are a lot of foreigners in Roma, Condesa, and Polanco in relation to the rest of the city but they of course still feel like Mexico, just not necessarily the experience that some people want to have in Mexico. The population of each of these neighborhoods is overwhelmingly mostly Mexican. Just a little caveat in case some people get the idea that these neighborhoods are truly overrun by foreigners the way it's often portrayed on the internet.
That being said, some other neighborhoods that I absolutely love and feel are underrated are:
San Jose Insurgentes
Guadalupe Inn
Insurgentes Mixcoac
San Miguel Chapultepec
Florida
Santa Catarina
Jardines del Pedregal
along with the ones mentioned in the video
Thanks for this list. What did you love about these neighborhoods?
Thanks! Will check them out.
@@MrRiceandbeanz @MrRiceandbeanz These are mostly in the Southwest of the city which has cleaner air, virtually bordering the forest that's west of Mexico City. These neighborhoods are also on volcanic rock which protects them from major earthquake damage (unlike the cities in the center which are on the lakebed). These neighborhoods also have a great mixture (in my opinion) of being in the hustle of the city with being removed from the extreme where it gets overwhelming. I lived in Roma and absolutely loved it but it's certainly not for everyone.
@@so27109 Is San Miguel Chapultepec more quiet and isolated, or is there enough going on there (for example, plenty of supermarkets and stores within walking distance)?
Thank you Soooo Much for sharing your knowledge & experience 🌷
There is so much written on the air and water quality of Mexico City. It’s also a high altitude city. Can you comment on adjusting to the air quality and altitude as well as the water situation. I live in São Paulo Brazil (20MM+) and would love to visit CDMX as it seems there are so many similarities.
Thank you for this video! We just got our temporary residence visa approved yesterday and we don't want to live in the expat bubble. That said, it's hard to find videos on other neighborhoods. So glad I found you!
I have long been waiting for a video like this. ,!Gracias!
Hope you enjoyed it!
My grandparents lived in Anzures. There have been foreigners since we remember. My family fled ww2. So “foreigners” is a tricky word.
Very true
20:15, the singer Thalia (married to Tommy Mottola) and her family are from that neighborhood, Santa Maria La Rivera. Her parents home is still there. I enjoy the restaurant La Casa de Toño in that neighborhood not only for the food, but the restaurant decor/murals and the center garden .
Thank you!! I will definitely use this next year when I go shopping for an apartment.
Excellent as usual 👏🏾👏🏾 - Thx 🕊️
I am moving to mexico city with my two dogs and found your video really useful. Thanks!!
This really blessed me. Thank you SO MUCH!
Blessings from ☝️

ThankU 👏👏👏
Miss Picky Traveler. Love you. Love your videos. Thanks.
Great job with this video. Very informative and useful for a new Mexico City resident such as myself.
Glad it was helpful!
Other nice neiborhoods are :
Acacias : has a park metro station is like Del Valle.
San José insurgentes : has a park and metrobús station a litle bit more expensive tajan Del Valle.
Insurgentes mixcoac : has a nice square is old like Coyoacan
Chimalistac : is like a Suburbia área whith nice colonial vibe, has a beautifull square and a park near to 26:33 26:33 metro station and metrobús station
San Miguel: Chapultepec, has the bigest park in Mexico
San Pedro de los pinos : has Two parks and metro station
And There other neiiborhoods
Thank you sooo much for sharing this info 🌷
Wow. I love your video. I'm from Mexico City living in L.A for more than 15 years now and I have to say, you have very accurate information. I like the way you have explained the importance of writing addresses right, and also that you're talking about neighborhoods that are as you say underrated, like Narvarte, Escandon and Santa Maria la Ribera. But it would be nice if you also talk about Condesa, Roma, Coyoacan, you're very well informed and people would appreciate your input regarding these neighborhoods.
Wow, wow, wow!! I'm speechless so good!!! Thank you.
I would add Las Aguilas, Las Flores, San Geronimo, La Florida, San Angel Inn, Guadalupe Inn and Tlaipan old town.
I just stayed in Col. Renacimiento and loved C. Rio Lerma. Thanks for the video
Dear sister. Love your style. Thanks. Very informative. I am one of your fans.
Going to watch this and see which neighborhoods I can add to my radar for when I visit.
Really helpful informative organized video. Exactly what I was looking for. Muchas gracias.
Can you do a grocery shopping vlog. I wanna compare the prices for my family. ❤️
Grocery Shopping is the cheapeast, you can go to walmart whit $20 you can make your dinner for 4-5 people. 1 kg chicken about $5
Good job done with the research. I lived in Narvarte my whole life and I think we have good green areas. Some parks like Americas, Parque de los Venados and Glorieta SCOP are the most popular. In the last one we have eagles flying around the trees.
Technically los Venados is in Portales not Navarte so I didn't count it
@@AdaliaAborisade yes you're right but is very close. I run there, only 10 minutes from my house in narvarte.
Great video and I love the video quality
Thanks!
Tepito and Ixtapalapa is like the Bronxs on NY. Brave Neiborhood
Oh and i totally agree with your criteria.
Thank you for a great video. I leaved in Mexico City back in 2001, 2002 and still go there very often with my wife who still has an apartment there. I think I know what Neighborhood you left out and I thank you for not talking about it. My wife grew up in Narvarte and her family still lives there. I love that neighborhood and it is a great place to live. Keep up these videos. Peace and love
WOW..this is one of the most informative videos on neighborhoods I have seen. THANK YOU for creating this video. I am moving to CDMX in May and was overwhelmed with finding a place. I have had many real estate agents reach out to me but only referring Roma Norte, Condesa and Palonco but I have not liked what I saw as far as apartments or prices.
Thank you so much for all content you put into making the video ( I have 2 dogs) so green space is absolute and also need family friendly since I have a 12 yr old.
I am now going to check the other videos you suggested.
Saludos de Houston 💗🙏🏼
Be sure to check the description. I linked to the two other videos I did about finding an apartment
just what I was looking for. Am thinking about moving to CDMX and wanted to hear about other than the 'usual suspects' neighborhoods. Thanks so much.
Very good video with great information! Thanks for doing it, Adalia.
You're welcome
Great video. I'm about to spend some time in Tabacalera in Cuahtemoc. It's just for 8 days. But I didn't want to be in La Roma or La Condesa. I wanted to be remain central but be able to pivot easily. I speak Spanish pretty fluently. Not moving there. But still excited!
I just came accross your video. I found it very informative. I am in the process of moving to Mexico city from Merida, its important to me to know the best neighborhoods for me. Thanks for the informative
Discovered your vlog. Glad you didn't mention where I live. Somehow I am not worried about too many expats. Hope that I as an expat am not annoying others the way expats have annoyed me. One of the great benefits of Mexico City is that it seems unlikely in my lifetime the place will be run over by them. The whole concerned about Mexico city crime theme that comes from the US seems a little ridiculous in my experience here. You seem to understand perfectly how to live here and I bet you have gotten away from the things in the States that annoyed you. Thanks for the video.
this is refreshingly educational as i'm preparing my trip in two weeks. thank you for sharing.
Glad it was helpful!
I spent a little bit if time in Nápoles and it seemed to have a lot of foreigners from other countries that have been there for YEARS. I liked it and was wondering why it was slept on
Napoles is just a really lowkey, cool area
Thank you! I love how you broke the info down.
Glad it was helpful!
This is helpful, sis. Do you do tours for people like ourselves? I'm looking for a colonia with a Brooklyn vibe.
This is soooo useful. Thank you!
As someone purposely trying to not be in the Roma Norte/Codensa bubble this is really helpful eye opening to what other areas there are. I'm currently in Santa Catarina just u nder Viveros de Coyoacan which is beautiful. In a shared airbnb, so probably can't afford my own spot here so scouting out where else!
Thanks for sharing this list! 😊 These are the types of neighborhoods that I like. You explained them very well. Vibe, low amt of foreigners, green spaces and transit!
I was gonna get all uppity about how an error was made in the info and lay the 411 about Mexico City being inside the DIstrito Federal. But then I looked it up, and realized The D.F. has now legally changed it's name to Ciudad De Mexico, and that now the civic and federal entities are merged into one. My how times change. Tee hee! Thanks for setting me straight.
Yes, thanks for this topic (very informative) and the visuals . . . they really helped!
So glad!
thanks, some nabes i hadn't heard of - your choices fit mine almost to a T! excellent!
I love your videos. You think of everything.
I've been going to CDMX yearly since 2016 (spending a good two weeks each time) and I'm planning to move there next year. I'll be there this November and will explore some of the colonias you mentioned. I very much like Sta. Maria la Ribera as a hood, but as you mentioned, the café and restaurant scene is somewhat lacking. I like col. Granada, just north of Polanco. Not overrun with expats (yet), supermarkets, lots of conveniences, metro stations at walking distance.
Hey, what’s up?
You actually have two parks in colonia Escandón: Alameda Tacubaya (Av. Revolución, Escandón S.I) and parque Morelos (Calle Progreso, Escandón S.II), but neither of those is special or really green as many others elsewhere.
Great information PickyGirl!🧡🦋🌻
Glad it was helpful!
I enjoyed this video very much. I too do not want to live in an exotic heavy Colonia. I've lived in Del Valle and loved it. Currently I am living in Narvarte Oriente, LOVE LOVE LOVE it. The closest park is Parque Las Americas. Not a lot of foreigners. I highly recommend this Colonia.
Yay! Love this video. Adalia for the WIN!
I have been here waiting for you to mention my favorite place Coyoacan.
It made the list!
@@AdaliaAborisade Yes.
Thank you! Well done!
Thank you too!
I just wanted to say Thank you. Great video
Great great video. Great content and extremely helpful. Neighbor review.. I love this. Mexico City is on my short list! This fall…💕💕💕.
Have fun!
Another idea use screen share Google maps and areas with voice
Yours is one of the most useful videos on Mexico that I've seen - you are a delight.
I encountered "Page Not Found" when I clicked on the Book A 1:1 Call.... I'm interested in this if you are still doing it.
Warm regards Jennie
Thanks you ❤

Girl ❤ !! Good info OMG!! Liked and subscribed. 😘
Welcome!!
Thank you, Adalia!
I plan to vacation July 2020 in New Mexico for 7 days. I would like to relocate 2023. Is there a video for ladies vacationing for a week to check the city out?
Good job on comparison. Gracias.
Thanks for the great info
You bet!
Exactly why I’m watching this is because I only hear about 3-4 colonias as being the best. I want to hear the underrated ones!
Exactly….TOO many foreigners and I want to speak Spanish.
another excellent video
Brilliantly presented!
Great video, thank you so much !
you're welcome
Awesome info! Thanks for this. Was really struggling to find info on neighborhoods outside of Roma, Polanco, and Condessa, before watching this video. Decided to check out Napoles on my next trip due to its great greenspace, restaraunts, affordability, and kid friendliness! Thanks for sharing!
Also love the podcast! You have a great story!
Glad it was helpful!
Super helpful and timely as are all of your videos. Napoles sounds like a winner. You are a big part of the reason I had the courage to leave America in Oct 2021. I'm now living in an Airbnb Torres Bioparque until I secure my temporary residency. I like modern conveniences, highrise condos buildings, and parks. For that reason, I'm considering Santa Fe / La Mexicana Park. I'm hesitant because I don't know if it is overrun with foreigners (Americans). Have you spent any time there? Did you feel welcomed? Thoughts on this area?
Congratulations! The issue with Santa Fe is the lack of mass transit. For some that is a very pricey area to be in.
@@AdaliaAborisade Thank you! I'm a homebody that survives on uber eats so if that's my biggest challenge it might be a good fit. I'm still going to check out Napoles now that you brought it to my attention.
It's been a while so you probably already made your decision, but I personally didn't like Santa Fe. No access to public transportation besides the busses she mentioned that are kind of complicated for foreigners, busy streets that make it not a very walkable place, it's far from the city's core, and it's more expensive. Its a corporate and mid-upper class area so it attracts a decent amount of foreigners. It is very modern and luxurious though and there's more high rises compared to other parts of the city. But every colonia has its benefits and tradeoffs
What is the best neighborhood for dogs? I don’t want to be far from parks and I want to feel safe walking at night.
The entire city is dog friendly but any of the neighborhoods I mentioned
Thank you my dear for such good information, i am think visiting, this is one of the best video i have seen and i am not joking, the visual top the cake...by the way it was so good i had was to like and subscribe...
I would love to meet someone like you to guide me
Thank you
My husband from Mexico City refuses to go to Tepito. Not only him, but other friends and people I know. It was enough of me not to go.
There's no reason for me to go back to Tepito. I feel safe enough at Langunilla and La Merced which I've visited a few times.
Narvarte ❤
Welcome to my City. Forieghners are alwayas welcome. Some areas are more expensive than others
thank you for not including the already popular neighborhoods! like yes, we don't need 10k videos on condessa lmao!
Nice job 😊
Thanks!
Thank you
¿do you know colonia Claveria? near Santa Maria la Rivera, well more exactly close to la nueva santa maria
Thanks you for this
I want to start 2024 taking care of myself and regularly get facials. Is it customary to tip for facials and Pedicures?
Yes it is
jajaja, yeh don't share postal, I live here. it's great, and trueee, not much foreigners, except few southamericans
what about living near the water?
Mexico City is located in a valley. The closest beach is in Veracruz or Acapulco.
Useful thank you.btw love the lips
Glad you like them!
Thank You for talking slowly jaja
I like to have some help from someone wen I get to Mexico please can someone help me to find a good place please
Hi, Do you have an email address where I can contact you in regards to moving? I do not have any social media.
Yes, it is listed under the about tab here on TH-cam.
Can you finds rent for $500
Yes you can.
Great video! Only feedback is to relearn Cuauhtemoc's pronounciation in Spanish. It is one of the harder words, but the rest of your words were awesomely pronounced! Thank you for repping some of our undervalued colonias!
Actually Cuahutemoc's pronunciation in nahuatl
Still relevant in 2024, kinda....lol
No neighborhood is safe as long as you got people seeking to do wrong
You need to brush up on your Spanish because many people will not be able to identify the places from your pronunciation and they may mispronounce them themselves.
You're complaining about a free video on the internet
@@AdaliaAborisade I am not complaining. It does not affect me. It is constructive criticism to help you if you are making videos about Mexico. I speak the language.
@@fredmila
You need to make your own video if it bothers you so much 😘😘😘
