We couldn't believe that we both lived in the same commun and both had youtube channels and were renovating a house solo on each! We were not that close, more acquaintes. But we are trying to change that now 😁
So glad you met Anna! I've watched her videos and I think that's what brought me to you. So I am grateful to watch two women help each other. When you're both "all done" maybe start your own school or class programs. Will watch with envy and joy.
I think that heater/stripper is probably the best investment you made. It's so effective and eliminates the use of toxic chemicals. I'm hoping to purchase a duplex with my elderly mother soon and I look forward to completing my own improvements. It will be great to know she is comfortable but still feel independent. Your vlogs are very educational 😊
Yes definetly! I recently dropped it and the infrared light was broken. A replacement cost 150 Euros 😵 so it's been used a lot and it wasn't the first time it fell to the ground but I wish it was cheaper. The Speedheater cobra is also a good option, it's smaller but costs less. There is also one that's twice the size of mine and costs three times more 😵💫😵 it's called speedheater twin 😆
I am so envious of you two doing windows together! I want to help. I happen to love doing windows. Just ask Benita Larson. Maybe summer of 2025? Much love.
Your chatting about the colour of Anna's cottage matches with what I thought when she was painting in green:"Oh no the typical red colour we love!", then I thought that maybe for people of Sweden, it's a bit cliché! My gypsy caravan is in "your" red colour and I love her; it makes me feel so close to you girls, in Sweden...😉😆
Yes exactly, the red houses are all over the place. I mentioned a bit about the origin of the red paint in E17. It's a residual product from the many ore mines in Sweden. Guess it depends how much you like the tradition 🤷♀️😀
@@old_school_moaboa Yes, I saw that friendly trip! I was very interested in knowing where this paint is from. I have one bucket left but I learned that it was possible (and not so hard) to make some yourself... Tradition is good sometimes but this red colour is beautiful always ;)
In Sweden it's been forbidden to use indoors since the 19th Century so about 150 years. Either way these windows only seem to have acrylic paint on them today. It's not that common to test for lead here I guess, if your house is only 100 year old like mine because it's unlikely it contains lead. So no I didn't test and, knock wood, I am fine. If there was lead I would be very sick by now 🤢 also the speedheater I use is great for removing paint safely. But I should be better when sanding to use a mask, I once got m sinusitis when sanding a floor with a faulty dust mask
I learned from elementary school during woodworking classes, by renovating with my ex and then renovating a cottage on my own 😃😃 I think it's fun and always try new things. No, my parents are dead and my closest family is my brother one hour away and he has his own house and small children to look after. But if I ask him for help he is always there for me, but I only do this when I really need to. Instead I have help with volunteers and recently I have teamed up with @annasgmlindgren a friend who is also renovating a house on her own
The chicken is charming! But you have a problem with the windows - the frames are good, but single glazing is not serious. This house with such frames cannot be heated, despite the good walls. You need a second frame, repeating the pattern of the first, but opening inward. This is not noticeable from the street, technically it is not difficult with your talents. Previously, such frames were removed for the summer, you can remove only the lower sashes. No need to insulate any walls, you will walk around in a T-shirt. And with a single frame you are simply heating the street. Try at least on one window. We have frosts of 40 and 50+, but no one freezes in the houses, we do not wear sweaters at home, we save heat - heating the street is very expensive.
The windows are double panes actually, but when I renovate them I screw them apart, it's easier to work with them that way. The house need a lot more work before I can walk around in a t-shirt, but eventually I will get there 😄 where are you located to get -40/-50? 🫨🥶

You learn this craft by doing it over and over again, and get faster every time. Like with most other things. And very rewarding when it’s done.
Can't believe that Anna and you are friends. Love both channels so much!

We went to the same school when we were kids and our mums were friends 😀
So much love and patience goes into this project. It is totally paying off, such a beautiful house, inside and out.
Thank you 🥰🫶🫶
The windows are looking amazing! I love the constant presence of the chickens and cat trying to figure out what mom was doing...
They are quite social all of them 😆
Seeing Anna pop out that window was such a nice surprise!!
😉
You did a marvelous job!
I found you from Anna’s channel when I rewatched that episode when you came to help her. Love both of your house rehaps
Hey, Hi Anna! I watch Anna’s channel already! That is so cool, that you guys help each other. I knew I recognized you from her TH-cam channel. ❤️🇨🇦
Вот это да, я и Анну нашла, не зависимо от Вас, а вы оказывается знакомы! Девчонки, вы незабываемы! 🎉🎉🎉

The windows look great! Thank you for sharing
Thank you 😁
I‘m following Anna as well, nice to see her here. The windows looking good and the chickens are surprisingly curious 😅 greetings from cologne Andy
They jumped onto the window sash that Anna was scraping and gave her a fright more than once 😆
@@old_school_moaboa 😂 Her chickens are nicer to her, yours are probably protecting their territory, even though you have so many volunteers

That is pain staking work. I can just imagine.
Hard but fun (most of the times) 😉
Don’t you need double or triple glazed windows in Sweden?

@@Vanessa-pl3br yes agreed 😁
Try to put rubber gloves on to protect your hands....plus it may be old lead based paint as it's an old house.
White paint of that age (1920s) often contains lead. Have you checked for it ? And use mask ?

How much did you pay for this house if I may ask. 😃
2.2 million Swedish Crowns back in 2022, about 193 000 €
