Thanks for this ...I know its a couple years old...Just had exact issue on my 2006 Malibu boat trailer (boatmate brand)...locked up caliper pushed out my sight window piston just like you described. I did not know they did that. I had a caliper lock up about 7 years ago and ended up replacing it and rebuilding a couple of the others (4 brake system). I had kinda forgotten some of the steps so this was a nice refresher! Earned a new subscriber!

Great Video! Do you happen to have the part number for the break caliper?
You don't need to use a ratchet strap to pump the surge brake actuator. Under the actuator is a lever you push up and then you stick a screwdriver and pump the actuator piston while holding the lever up. Google UPF actuator bleeding directions. NICE BOAT!!!!!

That is the vault system.
@@GreaseMonkeyTV I also have the vault system on my trailer but I do not have that access with the hex screw off the hub. What year is your trailer out of curiosity?

the vault system does not use oil, it uses a hybrid type of grease.
Greasemonkeytv after replacing the old caliper to the new caliper did that caliper still locks up or drags during the current time you had it?
No that was the fix for my issue.
@@GreaseMonkeyTVdid you replace all 4? I'm having similar issues with mines too, I'm thinking I may have the same problem with all four of my calipers.
