  • Tell Me About Yourself SAMPLE ANSWERS! Ultimate GUIDE to Tell Me About Yourself Question in 2021 + Answer Examples. Tell Me About Yourself A GOOD Answer to This Interview Question is a MUST. This question is guaranteed to be asked in every single job interview. This job interview question itself seems straightforward and simple, but it’s NOT. Instead of being asked “Tell Us About YOURSELF” you are actually being asked “Are you really the right person for us to hire?” And your whole response should be about that. The hiring manager needs to see you as an ideal candidate after you finish presenting yourself. In this video I’ll be sharing an easy to use FORMULA to Answer Tell Me About Yourself question to help you turn your answer into your professional story. I also share Tell Me About Yourself answers and examples which you could use as an inspiration while preparing your own response.
The first thing you should know when listening to responses to Tell Me About Yourself is that no matter how natural someone’s response may seem, there is always a structure or a formula behind it! You HAVE to remember that. There is also so much online content about answering Tell Me About Yourself. It’s hard to navigate through so many videos and so much advice. I would recommend you to be practical and select the advice which works for you the best. And most of the times the best is to listen to someone who ACTUALLY HIRED PEOPLE, so it’s less theoretical and more practical. Because when you work in HR and do Job Interviews for a living, you know well why these questions are being asked in the first place, and the kind of responses which most companies are expecting. I also know that many hiring managers decide based on first impressions, the vast majority of them make up their mind in the first 5 minutes of the conversation. Tell Me About Yourself response is all about showing how your professional story is VALUABLE to this particular company and the position. And the formula which I advise my clients to use is the 3 step PRESENT/PAST/FUTURE answer.
Explain hiring managers why you are an ideal candidate they are looking for in a concise and positive manner. 5 important tips to keep in mind while preparing your PRESENT, PAST, FUTURE Tell Me About Yourself story: ...

      Peace Mr. Marat,
My mother grew up in a
      children's home from age
6 yrs. old up until she was
      18 yrs. old.
My mom always said, if she ever had children she would
      TREASURE HER KIDS and
NEVER LIVE A LIFE THAT WOULD TAKE HER KIDS FROM HER.
The lady that adopted my mother when my mother was pregnant with me GAVE MY MOTHER A
      FAMILY SETTING SHE NEVER HAD.
My brother's and I have had an
Amazing Life because of the lady I only know as my "Grandmother".
      Mr. Marat,
When health issues almost claimed my mother's life on several
      different times, "I PRAYED" unto
      The Living God.
I ask God even though I am the
      youngest of my brother's please
allow me a chance to "Serve" my
      mother, grandmother and
      grandfather.
      Well my grandfather passed away
February 2020 of this year but I yet
      "Serve" both my mother and
      grandmother.
      Your videos have AWAKENED
      COURAGE WITHIN ME.
      I don't have friends.
My mother have been my main
focus every since I heard about her
upbringing I strive daily to make up for what my mother didn't have as a child coming up.
Your VIDEOS are like WATER TO
      A DESERT.
      Your "VIDEOS" POUR INTO
PLACES IN OUR INWARD PARTS THAT MAKE US THINK
      THE IMPOSSIBLE AS
      "POSSIBLE" and GO FOR YOUR
      HOPES and DREAMS WITH
      COURAGE...

I don't really quite get about Present context during the interview. The interview should be positioned as you're looking for the job which means you have left the job for the interview. If you're still in the particular company with your current position, why would you need to be interviewed? This might lead interviewer/user to ask another scary question "what makes you want to leave your current company"?

    • @myemmotion
      @myemmotion  3 ปีที่แล้ว

Hi Andika. The question "why do you want to leave your company?" is hardly scary, it's in fact the most frequently asked question for all the job seekers who are currently employed. Present is all about who you are right now on professional level, it's a great way to open a presentation of yourself, so you could add the following details after on.

Not sure how to apply this when in a fresh career change and trying to leave the initial job after 4 months due to a toxic boss. One that prevents any accomplishments and changes the goal post with every task so you're never doing things "right". "In my current role I'm gaslit, hogtied and verbally abused making it impossible to perform tasks I could do in my sleep... I'd love to contribute to the success of a team where I can showcase....."
How do you make your current sound like gold when it's actually mud and it's actually caused a regression in your skills??

Hi there! Is your doubt about them not wanting someone currently outside of financial analysis area? You know it's completely normal to try other jobs/freelancing if you haven't found a job directly related to your field of study. And 3 years is not such a long time, you should keep in mind all the projects you've worked on while self employed and those will help you answer most of the interview behavioral questions.

That's a dumb question from an employer who doesnt know how to interview. But I do think its time to update my brown nosing. There is some su stance to this song and dance but theres also a lot of brown nosing. So let's get on with it.

Do you have a "Why did you leave your last job ?" answer? Thanks in advance

Hi there! If you are currently unemployed, I have videos on "how to explain being let go from your last job" and on "how to explain a resume gap": th-cam.com/video/LMFAtydPyQU/w-d-xo.html
      th-cam.com/video/JtnaCqZxuu0/w-d-xo.html
I should perhaps do a specific video for "why did you leave your job?".

Thanks. What do you suggest? How do you think it'd be more interesting?

      1.Use more animated content.
2.Divide your videos in parts like what u r going to tell us... mention it first in points then eloborate each points so that it will be easy to remember your advices .
      3. At the end sum up all the things that u told.
      Hope you appreciate my feedback.
      Love for India ❤️.🤗
      Thank U

@@atulkumar4432 Thanks a lot for your kind and detailed feedback. I have tried making longer intros and outros, but the majority of the viewers skip them. So after a while I decided to be as straight to the point as possible. However I'll try to use more b-roll/animated videos as long as I can get some free of copyright ones.
Again thanks for stopping by, best of luck to you also. Hope your interview goes great :)

Man, if you were a bit uglier, you'd be creepy af. I hope that poker face is a skill you learned instead of growing having such a good poker face, not only because I need to learn me how to maintain my emotions like that but because it'd be offputting if that were the case

Not sure if you found the video helpful, but you made it clear that, according to you, I am a "poker face". Haha.

@@myemmotion Well, I mean, I wish I could keep my emotions to myself at all times while smiling. The best I can do is have a "serious" face all the time, and I have trouble keeping it because I'm a very merry person but people have taken advantage of that before.

@@tafferchuck1349 I can definitely relate to what you mean. You know there is no perfect way of delivering a message, to some you can be too smily, to some you are too serious, some ask you speak slower, some attack you for speaking too slow. The point is, do it as you feel like, and as it feels comfortable to you. The more you try adjusting to what others expect from you, the more you are going to be affected by the feedback/criticism you receive.
