The older one which is close to 50 years old by now, was built to last, on a stock 1600 engine. The new aftermarket one was made of lighter metal.Also the aftermarket one doesn't fit like that original without some tlc. Just my opinion. Thanks for leaving a comment.
Excellent comparison! What is odd to me is that in all my years of messing with VW's I have never seen any "weights" or signs of "balancing" on a welded fan. Makes you wonder if they are balanced naturally by design, or are they truly balanced on a balancing machine.
