VW Beetle/Bug with working exterior/interior lights
It always nice to see all the lights in good working order. Take care of those ground wires. They can ruin your day.

How many timing marks and top dead center
I might have sold the pulley, at the last vw swap meet I went to. I think it only had one timing mark, on the pulley.
I often have a problem that when the engine is warmed up and I turn it off, fuel immediately starts leaking through the emulsion tubes into the throat (barrels). It is then very difficult to start the engine.
@@marcingowczynski Try adjusting the float level lower. Check your fuel pressure. 2.5 psi should be good enough for webers.
Looks like a great gathering. 👍
It was a great gathering. It would have been nicer,if the weather was warmer.
My 72 , all things work 😅
Nice! And it sounds Good! I'm gonna have to start thinking about lights & turn signals on my rail this winter as well.
👍
😎👍
Looks good 🤙
I briefly ran gasburners 20+ years ago, lovely wheels, lovely car, and a working dome light, win, win, win, superb😂
Gotta love the fold out side widows .....
Stop shaking the thing and figure out what’s stuck! Yikes.
The engine angle was off.
@@vintage76vipergreenBeetle I need to drop the engine and transmission from my 914 this winter. Not really looking forward to it!
@@shawnbrennan7526 With the right tools it should help, remove the powertrain off the 914. Never own or worked on a 914.
He’s not to bright obviously!
Jack the car up as high as possible and place it on 4 jack stands. Then when you start lifting the engine you won’t have the car also lifting and confusing the issue. You should also bolt your wood risers onto the jack in a fore and aft orientation
Clearly a pile of pallet wood, with some harbor freight casters... and no building permits
Nice job!
Looks solid 🤙
Thanks, for leaving a comment.
Love pallet builds. 😊
@@VWBaja It not as square as much, but it will do. Thanks for leaving a comment.
Outstanding congratulations! It is such a great feeling taking that first drive.
NICE
Kewl! ✌🏻🙂👍🏻
😎🤠👍
Nice stuff 👍
Nice !
Nice!!
FUN!
It was. If the weather was a little warmer like years past, it would have been better. I saw and said hi, to Taylor, from Wicked werks.
You didn’t ask if I wanted to go along 😁
I'll remind you next year. You & Heather can take small vacation to Salem MA, for the Halloween season, and stop at the show on the way back home.
Ohhhhhh that’s nice!!!
Clever 😊
Threw one of those out recently 🤦♂️Superb
@@philp4842 It happens to all of us. Thanks for leaving a comment.
Now that’s very cool my friend
I'm not very good at adjusting 34 solex carburetors. But I'm slowly learning.
Great camera work!
Didn't know, it would come out that nice.😄
and it's from a generator engine?
Yes.
that hub looks exactly like mine
Ok? So fix it?
I did. This happen last year. Just wanted to show a example of the issue.
You got them in 2012 and now you are complaining? I don't know any place that would do an exchange after that long. Just run them and if they fail then complain. Why believe just the bad? lots of folks are running those heads with no problem. I have a pair and they work just fine.
Read the video description, for more information.
Glad to hear you had good luck with Mofoco heads. Many others didn't.
Outstanding! She purrs like a kitten! How exciting!
The carburetor & timing needs a little more tuning. As I was driving, I was trying to remember if it did the same noises and other things it did, 15 years ago. It was bring back a lot of memories.
Nice 👍
the sweet sounds of success. makes me want to get my big bumper 74 back on the road.
@@redshirt-scotty Go for it.

That was a good ride 🤙
close that glove box door, we want to see it open when you hit a bump ! lol

Cool view. Feel like I’m cruisin with you. Bug sounds really good
It felt good driving Bug again. I need to put a spare passenger seat in it, and take my daughter for her first ride in the Bug.
Awesome love it
Sweet!!
Very nice!!! 🤙
Nice
Sounds good
i remember when i had more subs than slade. june of 2019 or so and we swapped a few messages. he was at 100 or so and i was around maybe 110.
Have you thought about doing live shows answering questions?
@@vintage76vipergreenBeetle maybe someday but i'm a thousand or more subs away from that
@redshirt-scotty Didn't know you needed a certain amount of subscribers to do live shows. 🤔
@@vintage76vipergreenBeetle haha, you don't. i popped in for a couple minutes to sunday evening live with slade to see who was there. you were there with about 50 others (yes, i lurk from time to time). that's a solid gathering but he has nearly 30X the number of subscribers i do and he's only vw. i have fishing, suzuki and lotus subs. they won't show up so maybe i could entice 3 or 4 to join in. thus, maybe with another 1000 subs or so, i will do live. till then it's the comments section for all questions.
Way too much is riding on oil pressure to simply "HOPE" that spring tension is as good as original. "You don't want it to be too much, you don't want it to be too little." What does this mean when you are trying to control oil pressure at RPM and idle? There is a spring tension specification in the Volkswagen manual under the Engine section, page 35 for Type 1 and page 30 for Type 2. Installing each of these springs should never be guess work. There is a lot of spring tension variation even among new springs. Spring tension is measured when the spring is compressed to the specified loaded length. To do this will require a scale on the drill press table. Set the depth control on the drill press to the specified spring loaded length above the scale surface. Compress the spring to the loaded length then observe and record the scale force. Install springs to your liking then observe their performance. Swap them out as necessary to adjust for desired performance. Read my technical paper titled "Measuring Oil Pressure & Oil Cooler Bypass Spring Tension" on the subject published on The Samba under Technical, Miscellaneous.
nice beetle
Call them. I'd send them back. They need to fix them or give you your money back
I did get in touch with Mofoco, back in Aug 26, 2021 This the message I got. I would like to offer to build you a new set of heads, 100% free of charge. Can you box up the ones you have and I will send a UPS call tag and then build you a new set and ship them back to you at no charge. I apologize about the missed spring seat machining. Roy I never got the ups tag.
