Growing up in Oregon I can give some info on the Caldera of Crater Lake. It is a collapsed volcano called Mount Mazama and blew it's top 7700 years ago. The lake is crystal clear and very deep. The lake's maximum depth has been measured at 1,949 feet. Water flows in from snow pack and rain but there is not an outlet for the moisture once it comes in other than evaporation. Wizard island is the volcanic vent and there are some really neat rock formations on the other side. One of them called The Ghost ship. The Old Man of the Lake is a 30-foot tall tree stump hemlock maybe that has been bobbing vertically in Oregon's Crater Lake since at least 1896. The upper section of the exposed stump will support a person standing on it and traverses across the lake constantly. So there is your fact check. :)
You hit many of my favorite playgrounds here in Washington State! Including Roach Harbor! The San Juan Islands are an amazing place that I was fortunate enough to spend many summers there as a kid! Oh and we weren't in the San Juans we were up on Mt Rainier! Thanks for sharing this! I LOVED it!!
Excellent video....your cinematography(I think that's what it's called i.e. music and video played together) is top notch! The west coast is so beautiful.
Love your vids man. Well done. Scenery gorgeous. Makes me want to get a KitFox and meet a friend with a chopper. The jumping thing ... I’m not there yet. Give me time. I’m only 67.
I'm thinking the volcano erupted, then sank a good bit after the eruption stopped (cooling lava and all that), then a little volcano popped out. That has got to be the coolest way to "go fishin" that I've ever seen. I wonder what someone would have thought if they had seen a black helicopter land next to the lake. "They was huntin aliens that's whut". I hear drones taste good in soup... Idk... never tried it. The wing suit footage was amazing. Great VLOG Scott!
Dude. Sick. I hope you and the other Cowboys don’t mind me living vicariously through you all during this deployment. I love these videos man. One day I’ll get to go on adventures like this, maybe even hopefully meet up with you all for some adventures/shenanigans too. Just need to keep pushing and working hard. Thanks for sharing your fun with us bud!
Yeah, Crater lake is over 1 mile deep and they didn't find the bottom of it for a long time. I've been told there is an crashed airplane in it that was never found. We live below it in Roseburg........lovin' it for 20 years.
Very nice to see all of the different places. Great job. Not knowing anything about planes what kind of motor was that at the start of the video? Nice place you have. Thanks for the trip.
Gorgeous scenery, sick wing-suit work, and good times. And check it -- 1.5K views in 5 hours. Scott, you're a talented guy who turns everything to gold. Thanks for the great vid. BTW, my vote is that the drone made it because it was fresh water and you treated it quickly. Yes?
You are living the life man! Incredible stuff right here. I really would like to meet all the flying cowboys. I recently started flying after dreaming of it for the last 20 years. I bought and am learning in a Kitfox 2. Soloed at this point. Psyched! Scott from Port Angeles, WA
I might be wrong but are their not some flight restriction over and around the National Park ?.... Oregon is a Fantastic state, love the views, the wingsuit aerials are AWESOME.
I mean, you were a cool dude strait from the start, but I feel like this was some trent palmer shit taken to the next level! nice going. glad your vlogging!
Man, wish I knew you were in the area. I would have flown over to Roche just to say hi from Arlington. Fly the SanJuans all the time. Your VLOGs are great, glad Trent has spurred you into doing them.
Hey Scott- re: Seattle weather. August and Sept. are almost guaranteed to be great weather. Nov thru March is total shit, and April thru July is iffy. There! ALL you need to know about our weather. How do I know? Been here since 1978.
Epic video man! I read up on the crater and apparently the cinder cone which is now an island was a result of the volcano collapsing into the bowl and because it didnt collapse uniformly its now off the side of center... I'm no geologist and the explanation of the formations was way above my pay grade - I'm just a pilot :P
Running out of superlatives to describe the scenery. Simply epic. One question, between skydives, how long does it take to reset/repack your chute before you can head aloft again?
Are all helicopters set up with the pilot in the right seat, I thought you were flying until you showed the instrument layout? Great video with fantastic views and excellent editing
As an eastern Southern man, I have a hard time coming to grips with western US lifestyle. As much as I try and the fact that I've been in 37 of these 50 states. I still am in awe of it all. I have my perks, my advantages, and my way, but I am without the vastness. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I have plenty but I long of that vastness. It is the lack of resources, or my knowledge of obtaining them, along with my roots, that prevents me living there..... but damn it is beautiful.
Crater lake is fantastic. I've been there a few times (on the ground). Great video of the whole trip. Quick question about the wingsuit jumps. Are there many mid-air collisions with the aerobatics that are happening?
Thanks, there aren’t a lot of serious mid air collisions. Sometimes we bump a little but it’s not typically a big deal. We pre-brief the jump and follow general rules of safe flight
That is some WICKED drone footage. What a beautiful part of the country!
Scot , you are one cool dude man .... so down to earth, Peace and love to us all x
Wow! Just Wow!! Thanks for sharing this awesome adventure and scenery with us, Scott!

How do I know? Been here since 1978.
What do you guys call that 3 man ballet dance in your wingsuits? Great production - wouldn't guess you started vlogging like 2 months ago.
We call it 3 dudes prancing around in dresses :)
Scott, at least the drone did not have a red camera on it.
But dam the video was great and so many jumps its just great watching it and the places.
You might pass your brother up in subs soon! Keep up the killer work!

I resonate with that, I lived on the east coast for 8 years. It was hard being surrounded by trees and mostly flat ground all the time
Crater lake is fantastic. I've been there a few times (on the ground). Great video of the whole trip.

Shit.. When you landed at the start beside the lake I forgot you weren't in your Kitfox and thought is he slowmo crashing into those trees !!
Wow! Makes me feel like I have done nothing with my life!
No disrespect to your brother but you kicked his butt in this one. Very nicely done.
