I'm building my own 2018 Sprinter van in a few months (bought it for €23.000, low mileage), always keep in mind even if it's a lot of money. If you ever decide to sell the van, there will always be a person who doesn't want to put time in building a van and buys it regardless the money. These vans will keep it's worth reselling (or for even more) if well maintained.

I 100% agree with you there. A van will absolutely keep it's worth if it's well maintained and taken care of.
Good luck with your build once you get going ☺️

@trippinthirties Thank you! Watching all your videos for some inspiration, you 2 really explain everything very clear, love it! Keep it up! One question: are you happy about the Svans heater after some use? Looks promising, thinking about ordering one myself.

That's great that you like our videos! Trying to explain enough for everyone to understand, but not so much it becomes boring 😅
About the Svans Panna water heater, yes I do really like it, it works like a charm. Haven't had any problems with it at all.
We put it on a few hours before we going to shower (it takes about 2-3 hours to heat up fully), and both me and Lina can have a decent shower, one after another, without having to wait in between. I think that is a win! ☺️

Your van looks amazing for the amount of money you put in. I wish I was a little more thifty. I spent double the time and 6X the money and my van isn't 100% done yet and doesn't look as good I don't think. I really should have went Ikea. That counter looks great and is very functional. One thing I really wish I did was come up w a system for being able to hang art anywhere. I thought velcrow could be good but it will rip the apolstery off the wall. Nice job

I would say that research is what helped us manage the budget, just researching everything a hundred times over before making any decision. Yeah, IKEA is really helpful as it's so easy and it just works.
We went with Velcro to hang the wall art we got, and it works fine (though we haven't tried removing it yet)

25.000,-, van included?! Very well done!! 👏🏼 I did a rough calculation (without precise research) and ended up at at least 30.000,-. Even without a water heater and induction cooktop + necessary battery setup.
You’re giving me hope guys! 😅🥲

Just dig around and watch TH-cam videos on 'How to", buy most of your things off Amazon and you'll be able to get away with a somewhat cheap build. There is always hope ☺️

We took our kids around europe/asia for 18 months in a prebuilt Adria £80k motorhome! our circumstances have now changed and the motorhome is sold so I am now building a lwb Ducato myself! this video was helpful to know how much money I don't have for the build! 😂

The price more or less same with a second hand camper. But you built your new, own one. so it is priceless I think. If I ask can you please rate the complicity of the construction process out of 10, what would you say guys? Btw does your van have a name?

Yeah, I saw the price of them are extreme! Hence why we chose to build our own, since you get everything exactly as you want it.
I think most of the build complexity was up to 6 out of 10 (depends on how handy you are). Though when it came to electricity, I would say it was a 10 out of 10 in complexity, just because we have an induction cooktop and electric water heater (which requires a lot more power, meaning we had to have a bigger inverter etc).
We have (unofficially) named her Susanne ☺️

Im currently building my van in UK. Everyday I need to remind myself that it is a investiment for my home and my comfortable.. because the money just fly away. I bought a 2021 ducato for £10k and so far I have spend £7 in the build. I hope not end up more than £15 total build, total £25k... close that your build cost as well.

Hope you manages to be within your budget. It's so tricky though, so many things that costs money that you never thought about
