You're missing the most important part. When you purchase a new or are used RV you get a pre-purchase inspection done on it by an independent inspector. It also doesn't hurt to have a mechanical inspection done on the chassis.
Interesting perspective and sorry about your issues. I would not call a Pleasure Way a high production builder. In fact they have great vans. Not perfect but definitely a step above the ones you grouped them with.
One of the biggest advantages that pleasure vans have is that they are not made in Indiana. Pleasure way is Canadian (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) made vans manufactured in one location by a group of dedicated van builders.
Pleasure-Way be the first Class B maker I'd look at. Not only for the quality but for their warrant/Customer-Care after the sale. Would never buy a Coachman -- even though the Beyond is (at least a few years ago) supposed to be better made than the other crap Coachmen makes (TTs mainly) -- or Thor...or anything Forest-River (another major Crap Maker). Sadly, most American RV makers are Crap Makers...not to mention their terrible warranties & Customer Care. Again, look at Canadian RV makers first -- such as Pleasure Way, Leisure Travel Vans, Panoramic RV (Quebec) for 3 examples -- then the very few quality American RV makers to see if they make the type of RV (Class) you're looking for. Next research the dealer you're going to get it from. -- BR
What a shame you had so many build issues from Coachmen. That company manager of their class B division is all over TH-cam bragging on the quality of the Beyond. You are brave to come forward as others are afraid of warranty repercussions. Pleasureway has by far the fewest issues from what I have seen from many social media sites.
So it was just a loose fuse and/or not knowing you can’t power everything 110v off the inverter at the same time? But other than that the van is built solid?
Here's the short version: A loose fuse caused inadequate power to go to the Firefly lighting system. When the water pump was turned on, power back flowed into the lighting system keeping it stable. When the 12 volt lighting system crashed, the appliances run by the inverter lost their programming and finally the inverter stopped working at all! Maybe I should clearly describe all this in a future video? Otherwise, the Beyond is solid.
@@DrVanLife It would seem the problem was your dealer, not the brand. Not being able to quickly identify a loose fuse is pretty poor diagnostics. It might be worth noting I do not believe the dealer involved is still a Coachmen dealer. Had you called Coachmen directly chances are good the issue would be found far quicker.
I think you’re misinformed as far as pleasure way vans is concerned. It is not a high volume van manufacturer. It’s a family owned van manufacturer in Saskatchewan Canada. Basically thousands of miles away from any Indiana van manufacturer influence. It might not be too late to change your mind and get into a better quality product for the long run.
The inverter is fine. Many on the market won't run an AC, microwave and other appliances simultaneously. Ideally you should be plugged into shore power to run all that wattage.
Among the RVing community, Coachman has been known as a low end manufacturer for decades. As a service to RV buyers, maybe you could pass along the sources of bad information you received before your purchase. You have interesting information.

Thank you, and keep posting.

Yay, Keegan!

Electrical is complex for sure. Thanks for clarifying. I too have been looking at a Coachman camper van.

Next time get a Pleasure Way. You won't regret it.
Hopefully that was the second and last trip to the dealer.......now, back to van life :)

So, is it worth it to get a more powerful inverter?

Need an RV inspection before you give them any money.
Bingo 👍

I am not the Dr., but that is not true with the Class Bs from Coachmen. They are in the upper level of B vans
@@davidstaddon7788 I don’t think anything coming out of Indiana these days could qualify closely to ever be calling upper end or high end.
Why don't you buy Mercedes Benz Sprinter or VW crafter. Those are quality camper conversations
