North Queensland Native Stingless Bees - Tetragonula sapiens Hive Design - I show my hive design for this species, including a special addition for colder areas
I live in Tully.have a nest in my bathroom wall block work.I watched you video, found some yellow stringy(wood),its more like bullet proof.new home under way.
Good to see mate, glad the videos have helped. I have aso started a Facebook group for us Northerners as well, lots if info there, as well as asking questions of the locals. facebook.com/groups/161586071332324/
Hi Graham, How do I work out what bees I have? They are in a log and are very shy. They have white faces and black bodies. I am not good enough to get a clear photo. They came from Karrara which is south of Warwick.
Well I would guess either carbonaria or Australis. Carbonaria will have resins all over the entrance, while Australis will close there entrance each night for protection.
I really love your video especially the bee
thanks

I have no experience with that species so cant say
Born in Carins !!!!!!!!!!
So if born in Cairns you have seen them, -- do you still live in the North, and do you have native bees.

@@grahamsanders9970 Thank you Graham, the entrance is prophesied or waxed shut, so they must be Australia.
What size for the boxes for hive and thickness of wood?
I mean propilised and Australia.
