    I live in Tully.have a nest in my bathroom wall block work.I watched you video,found some yellow stringy(wood),its more like bullet proof.new home under way.

      So if born in Cairns you have seen them, -- do you still live in the North, and do you have native bees.

    Hi Graham, How do I work out what bees I have? They are in a log and are very shy. They have white faces and black bodies. I am not good enough to get a clear photo. They came from Karrara which is south of Warwick.

      Well I would guess either carbonaria or Australis. Carbonaria will have resins all over the entrance, while Australis will close there entrance each night for protection.
