Should You Buy in 2022?
I’ve been resisting the temptation of jumping back into Batman Arkham Knight, to save myself for the upcoming Gotham Knight instead. But my excitement started to shrivel as I started watching the gameplay demos, which raised more than just a few concerns… and just like that, I soon remembered that there’s only one super hero for me…BATMAN!!

I think Knight is a perfect example of that category of game where, as a sequel, it didn't add as much as people wanted; but as a culmination of game design it is actually at the peak. I find a similar situation with Bioshock 2; people hated many aspects on release, calling it derivative for not changing enough about the formula... but come back today and it has aged far better than the first game, at least mechanically, due to those changes being quite good while not ruining the identity. Ironically, games like Bioshock Infinite, which made those sweeping changes players thought they wanted, end up being the less valued games at the end of things, because the former was a pinnacle of its particular design ethos, while the latter, just a muddled mess.

Don’t ever use BioShock Infinite as an example or comparison. Two completely different games. One was an experience. The other….a driving sim.

We had going from a game were you can explore freely intricate and well designed levels full of little stories everywhere, using a vast arsenals of weapons and powers interacting with the environments in creative way…
In a pretty much linear and heavily scripted game where you can carry only two weapons at once.
This is what i call a big downgrade.
Looks so cinematic. Cut scenes, lights, details on Batman's suit and Batmobile. How rain is pouring on him... Fight ... Best ever. Animation. Amazing world. Everything is amazing.

I love this game! I recommended 100%, I understand that sometimes is hard to satisfied everybody's taste but this is by far one of the best game I've ever play, together with the previous versions!

It shines in the times between missions. It's the ultimate Batman Simulator. The BEST playground for pretending to be Batman. Tear through Gotham in a badass Batmobile, glide around Gotham and zip from roof top to roof top. It looks beautiful even today. I think it's pretty sweet.
Knight is the ideal Batman sandbox game, even if City and Asylum have better writing/boss fights.
Honestly with all the dlc and just solid game play of the base game this was game was amazing . After playing Gotham knights and giving up because the game won’t stop stuttering on the new Xbox series I went back and started playing this and just loved it.
Just played this game for the first time on PC and i have to say, I cant believe it was controversial in any regard outside of launch technical issues. I think its as close to a perfect game that I’ve experienced. I suppose if you don’t like the batmobile i could see why you would have a problem but I absolutely loved every minute of the gameplay with it. The arkham knight tank boss battle was a little insane but i can appreciate a grueling boss fight. The animations, slowmo effects, upgrades, hacking drones!! It was all so fun. I think people that don’t like the tanks didn’t spec into them too much because it does get rather hard if you dont put upgrades into it. But I rank it as a top 5 game for me, and I’m a 25 year old playing 7 years after launch so theres no nostalgia factor. Incredible title.
I want more of this game and more batmobile the game was 10 of 10 for me we need another of the these for real
Arkham Knight is a great villain. The reason is mainly u can see how broken he is. He might not have had the best reveal but it made so much sense from his perspective and you could see the emotion in Kevin's voice while seeing him. Now yes the batmobile might be a bit infuriating but it just goes to show how even if batman doesn't have the upper hand in tech, he is the reason he wins. in the sequence where his batmobile got crushed and he barely got out, it proved that point. The game makes u feel like batman is all I can really say. For that I don't care about the criticisms.

The bat mobile DID spoil the experience tho…you spend more time in the damn thing than as Batman. INCLUDING all boss battles. If I wanted to play Burnout Paradise, I’ll play Burnout Paradise.
Arkham Knight was perfect in every way for me. Literally 0 complaints!! I disagree with everything negative anyone has ever said about this game. It's the perfect game, 11/10

Having bought Arkham Knight on PC on pre-order, I can attest that at launch Arkham Knight had major problems with textures not loading correctly being a major issue. But people also forget that Arkham City on PC had issues at launch as well, related to DX11 use that took a month or 2 to resolve.
I stuck with Arkham Knight so was able to play through the fixes that were made over a 9 month period and have to admit that it fixed the majority of it's engine problems. One that couldn't be fixed was the issue that after I upgraded to to Windows 10, that 8GB of RAM was no longer enough for the game, and that 12GB was the new minimum, as with 8GB there were some horrendous stutters in the Batmobile chases. Me, never one to do things by half, I upgraded to 32GB and the noticeable stutters were gone.
Overall, so long as you had the hardware, it became the title it was meant to be on PC over that period. Plenty of people still banged on it due to the increased RAM requirement under Windows 10 (which to be fair has been an issue every time there is an new operating system, that the required PC specs increase.
On modern systems I have no qualms about recommending the game, and although I have played through the game several times will still go back to it, (although I still hate the tank battles by the end of the game).

I've had fun playing it over all. That being said, the boss battles involving the Batmobile can be pretty frustrating, but over all, I'm glad I've got it. There's a tremendous attention to detail, like the likenesses of those strung up victims showing up on buildings after that particular game is over just as figments of our imagination was a nice touch.

I really enjoyed the bat mobile in this game😢 I thought it added alot of fun elements to the game such as being able to use weapons while outside of it..
I mean shit, arkham asylum, city and knight are on sale for 9 bucks for all three and all dlc. That's a steal and a half

Sorry but Arkham Knight is still the best superhero game for me. It perfectly captures what I want a Batman game to me mechanically, and most of all, makes the cool moments interactive and not in cutscenes. Even in moments where Batman is conversing with other characters, you can still move him around and even skip the conversation lines which make the whole experience really immersive.
Even the batmobile sections are phenomenally executed with tight controls and amazing audio visual feedback.
But the main element that elevates this game to me is the overall coherence of its game design. Missions aren't instanced like other games with loading screen dividiers. Instead, everything you do be it progressing the story or pursuing a side mission happens organically without a single loading screen. What's awesome is that you can even complete side missions while doing the main story since there are no artificial dividers between them. All events are already scattered in the world and are waiting for you to stumble upon them.

I really love the batmobile and i dont know why people have an issue with it.
I thought it was cool, think it felt a bit of a chore at times because it was over used, similar to trying to do the riddler side quest, i just wish more was done with Azrael tbh lol

I've just finished the trilogy and I think all three are excellent games and Arkham Knight is one of the best games I've ever played
I have played Gotham Knight for maybe 6 hours now, so far it is alright. It does make me want to go back and play the arkham games more. I don't know why WB montreal didn't just keep the combat system the same as the Arkham games. It feels very weird not countering instead you are now just evading. Also the opening to Gotham knight just makes me wish they would have made a batman series first and used gotham knight as a spin off later. I honestly don't like playing as robin, batgirl, nightwing and red hood.
This game is so gorgeous on a 32:9 ratio super ultrawide display. Looking down at the city is breathtaking, especially for a game this old.

Arkham Knight was "passable" to me. I know a lot of folks consider City to be the series high point but I've always preferred Asylum with it's more linear design
the linear design drew me away from asylum even tho the story and gameplay were amazing. city is just right, in between open world and a semi-linear story.

They definitely dumbed down the stealth segments from the previous game and there are nowhere near enough bonus steal missions as the previous either. The bonus stuff was so good in the last 2 games.
They should have made it harder, adding more enemys and bigger maps. Otherwise I thing Knight added so many badass features that I missed going back to origins and city.
I greatly love all 4 games. In knight there was an overuse of the batmobile, deathstroke fight is its biggest sin. But it's other issue was Jason Todd as the Arkham Knight, I can't help but think it'd of made more sense if the Arkham Knight was a product of H.A.R.D.A.C and was his doppelganger as in "his silicone soul" the story would've made much more sense if the AI was a creation of Hugo Strange, other Arkham alum
I love the riddler stuff in all the Arkham games. But I really dislike the fact that you need to collect them all to get the "true" ending.

Sadly, I never finished the game, but it was kind of fun and I’m too lazy to download it for the PS5. The only issue is that it was very difficult to drive the Batmobile certain tasks in order to get complaint to point B

I HATE when your fighting the cloudburst tank and the camera pulls back. Because it practically makes the batmobile fishtail all over the damn place or makes it feel like you're driving on ice. I hate they took away the visual cues in knightmare mode to counter attacks. I also hate that they purposely made the batmobile seem slow as fuck AND during those apc chases.

Arkham city was superior for sure, arkham knight also great! But too much batmobile for my liking and also story wasn't that good, but it did the job. All in all 8/10 imo

I had SUCH a hard time with the Riddler "racetrack" room. Couldn't get past it to save my life. Then I accidentally switched into 1st person mode, and for some reason, it became almost laughably easy.
I was today years old when I learnt you can drive the batmobile in first person 😮

I found the Batmobile to be a nice change of pace. The tank shootouts can get hectic and the Riddler races were also pretty fun.
The story is where my issues with Knight come in. My biggest critique is everything feels so splintered and sectioned off. You're only ever with 1 sidekick at a time, and you never see the villains all interact. The trailers were really misleading in that regard :(
I can easily recommend this game to any Batman Fan even after 10 yrs from now on !
I can say for sure that The Batman Arkham Series are THE best superhero video games right now and I doubt any other game will ever top anytime soon.
This team needs to make one last Batman entry for next gen consoles. Idk how but bring in a different type of Villian or maybe make a Superman vs Batman story and have him in between figuring out Superman he’s fighting other villains aswell? Idk it’s a shame next gen consoles aren’t able to take advantage of this game/team.
Can’t believe this team is making Suicide Squad Kills The Justice League. Gameplay looked atrocious and it’s pretty much a shooter. Horrible, horrible, Horrible idea. I don’t think it was Rocksteadys fault for the live service aspect. It definitely hurt that whole game development though. Hope they overhaul that mess with Arkham fight mechanics because that game will open up the Arkhamverse to plenty other heroes and villains. They look good in the cutscenes and dialogue. It’s that weird gameplay that’s ruining it.

In my humble opinion this game has only one fatal flaw - it's the sequel to Arkham City....everything else is on the brink to perfection, and I'm a bit disappointed that you haven't mentioned the ABSURDLY great graphics!!! I mean, this runs pretty smoothly on a NORMAL PS4, abd it still looks sometimes jaw droppingly great!!! And not only the technical side - the art design is pure mastery!!! THIS IS Gotham City!!! The buildings, with their sometimes huge statues holding bridges, the gothic look above the streets, and the ragged, fallen state of the street level ..and the amount if detail they've put into the city - you just WILL NOT find another game that compares to this!!! So, although I think that both prequels are ever so slightly better, this IS a true masterpiece and utterly underrated!!!!! But....I also like Arkham Origins quite a bit, I think it's a great game, too, so...make of this, what you like...nevertheless - a great video!! Thank you!!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻✊🏻✊🏻✊🏻💞💞💞

I Disagree with you! The Batmobile Tank Battles are WAY TOO DIFFICULT!! 300+ Attempts to Destroy the Clouburst Tank on Easy Difficulty is WAY MORE DIFFICULT than any of the TH-cam Walkthrus make It out to be!!
Well this is me from the future saying that Gotham Knight is a piece of hot s*** and luckily for me that was the first game that I played so I went back and purchased Arkham City Arkham Origins and Arkham Knight and they are way way better than the piece of s*** that is Gotham City and it's a shame because if they just gave Gotham City some more love it would actually be good

We had 3 games to not use the batmobile so I think arkham knight made up for it and I personally always disappointed with this inclusion
To be honest, what I disliked the most, was the fact that the batmobile felt so forced upon you during this game. It worked really really well. The controls were pretty good, and the sections with it were clever. But it makes no sense that it was so forced on you. But I recently replayed arkham knight, and tbh I kinda like it now.

But the other sections were good
They should have done one boss fight, some parts of the story where you had to use it and an option to just drive around when you wanted. That would have been fine.
